Hey everyone! Im the SaskatchewanChamp and Im the new guy :D I think a proper introduction is in order before i go on a little rant. I am from the province of Saskatchewan in the great country of Canada. So if I ever sound bias towards Canadian wrestlers, I am sorry. I am 23 years old and have been watching wrestling ever since I can remember. Also, I am a finance graduate with a degree in marketing. Now that that's out of the way, let me begin my rant.
I am going to list my thoughts show by show so here we go!!
Monday Night Raw
This has been the flagship show for the WWE for the last 17 or so years. However, for the last couple of months this show has lacked in my different aspects. First off, the whole guest host thing is getting beyond old. It wouldn't be so bad if they brought in someone who knows and actually follows the product. I will give some credit, it hasn't been as bad as it was before but it still needs to improve if this is going to continue into the future, which I am almost positive it will.
O.K. I understand they need to build up a young star to take the reigns, but the way they have built Sheamus is beyond retarded. The guy comes in and beats up Jamie Noble, retires him, and all of a sudden everyone is scared of him. He than picks on Jerry Lawler for a couple shows and all of a sudden he finds himself in a title shot against John Cena (Im missing a few things which are so small they are not justified to talk about.) Not once did this man beat a "main eventer" clean. Hell, during his title run who did he face? Did he even have more than 2 title defenses? I realize this was just a ploy to get Ireland on board with the WWE again, but come on. I would have much rather seen Sheamus doing what he is now. Going after Hunter and building a little credibility before getting the strap.
Bret Hart FTW!
Smackdown
I don't really watch Smackdown all that much, but with the talent they have over there on the "Sister" show it makes even me wonder why I don't tune in more often. Jericho, Edge, Punk, Morrison, and a cast of many more. Like I said before, I don't watch it enough to have a fair opinion about it so I will just move on.
TNA Impact
Where to start.... Well I'll start with the positives I see from TNA. AJ Styles heel persona is solid. I have always liked AJ Styles and I believe he can accomplish much more as a heel than a face.
RVD becoming the Champ was beyond surprising, and if they can keep the surprises coming it is definitely not a bad thing.
The knockouts are beautiful, and are far superior than the competitions lovely ladies. Although they have become more of a "side show" like the competitions which I am not impressed with, they are still the highlight of the night on Monday nights for most guys in my demographic.
The move that placed Impact an hour before Raw was without a doubt a great move from a ratings standpoint.
Now for the negatives.... Ill start off with the obvious. Nash, Hall and Waltman, well I don't need to go any further than that with this point.
Ric Flair.... Oh Nature Boy, you must know deep inside of your own mind that you have no place inside of a wrestling ring. Your promo's are still good but you getting in the ring is like watching the same movie over and over again. You must stay out of the ring not only for ratings, but for your own health.
Hogan! Same goes for you :shifty:
The Impact Zone... The crowd in there are the worst in the world of professional wrestling. How can you even hope to start making an awesome heel when the dumb asses keep cheering for the guy even after he insults them week after week.
Dixie Carter.... If you are going to be constantly mentioned on TV and come out for every celebration, get your ass in the ring and turn heel or something. Your presence is annoying and has literally no meaning if you don't.
Well guys and gals (if there is any, I doubt it but ya never know) that is my little rant for now. Thank you for taking time to read this is you did. I look forward to talking with all of you!
