View Full Version : Worst Send Offs in Wrestling

In my opinion Flair, HBK, and Hogan got some of the best send offs in wrestling when they left the WWE. On the contrary, JR, JBL, Ron Simmons, and Macho Man ended their careers pretty shitty for what they were as talent.

Who are some wrestlers that you guys think deserved a better finish to their career than merely a future endeavor website post or jobbing out?

As an aside, I hate all of you. Your posts, comments, and shenanigans make this forum addicting as hell and I think I'm going to need rehab or else end up like Xero (JK Xero, you're the man).

Lita had a horrible sendoff. Kind of fit though.

Didn't Cryme Tyme auction her stuff off in a ho sale after her last match or am I mistaken?

JBL at Wrestlemania was the ironic send-off.

Goldberg at Wrestlemania XX. Brock Lesnar got the sendoff he deserved but Goldberg kinda got screwed over in the process.

O/T: Christian cannot sing, when he attempted to lead the Smackdown crowd to sing along directed towards Edge it was kind of embarrassing.

Jeff Jarrett's WCW send-off was pretty bad. Off-camera firing when Vince bought the company.

He went over Shawn in the icon v. icon match. I personally pretend that Hogan died in the ring following that match and everything he has done since then is a bad dream.

I know JBL wanted the irony with the whole retire doing something never before achieved angle, I just would have rather seen him go out brawling Bradshaw style than lose to overrated Rey Mysterio.

Paul Bearer with the cement was pretty shitty too.

Also, what do you guys think about Brock's Wrestlemania send off. I know he was leaving, but to job, get the na na nana, and stunner still had to piss Brock off or at least tweak his ego.

Unless your HBK, Ric Flair, or The Undertaker your "retirement" should be kayfabed, that is why JBL's was great.

Brock no doubt when to his locker room after that match safe in the knowledge that if he wanted to, he could destroy Goldberg and Steve Austin in real life.

Probably at the same time.

He brought that all on himself. If he thought anything it should've been that he got off light.

Paul Bearer had a naff send off. Could be better if he was placed in a casket or retiring his services to 'Taker.

Lita is another one, all that happened was a dang ho sale.

Can't think of another send-off except for the na na na hey hey goodbye songs.

Tajiri.

I'm pretty certain they even acknowledged it was his final match, and then he jobbed. To someone so memorable that I don't remember.

And I think it was on heat or something.

SPIRIT SQUAD!

I was a big fan of Spirit Squad and while I was sad to see them go I was very pleased with their send off. DX shipping them back to OVW via huge trunk was hilarious.

Jaime Noble at the hands of Casper. I think as a wrestler I'd hate to go out to a "career ending" injury.

I do agree that most guys should get kayfabed out, but there are some who deserve a little more recognition.

Didn't Lillian get embarrassed a couple of times on her way out? If not her last "guest appearance" as a favor to WWE definitely wasn't memorable since Trips basically called her horseface and Mick turned it into a bigger deal than it was.

No dude. HHH would never give a low card wrestler the honor of retirement via Pedigree. He lost to the great... Gregory Helms.

For me this is easy: Lita. She is my all time favorite female in the history of wrestling and to see how she was treated on her last night is ridiculous. The whole Cryme Time thing bothered me so much and still does to this day. She deserved a send off in the same way Trish did. Lita did just as much for the women's division as Trish did and I personally feel Lita deserves praise. The person I miss the most in the ring other than The Rock is Lita. Trish is everyone's favorite don't get me a wrong I am a big fan of hers too, I just have always been a Lita fan and have always stuck with her. Maybe she'll have another match some day which I would like to see where she could get a proper last match.

Not knocking your opinion, but what exactly did Lita do for the Women's division? All I can remember her doing is a couple of hurricanranas during TLC 2 and constantly getting driven through tables by the Dudleys. Oh, and the whole Edge/Matt Hardy thing. Neither of which had anything to do with women's wrestling.

Eugene was kinda given an unceremonious farewell: gets his head shaved by Vince and Umaga, and then disappears.

She did a Moonsault..... IMO that was really her only contribution to the division.... See was great in the ring don't get me wrong, but she had near 0 personality.....

Considering the fuss that was made with Ric Flair, Austin and The Rock's 'send-offs' look pretty weak. Im sure pretty much nothing was done for them even though they are two of the biggest stars in WWE history.

Xero
05-18-2010, 07:06 PM
Austin wanted it that way, though. Don't know about Rock, but I'm sure it was the same.

Believe me, if either one wanted a "proper" send-off they would have gotten it. I'm sure they were approached about it, too.

I think Lita's legacy goes beyond the Women's divison tbh. She was a good women's wrestler but her biggest accomplishment will probably go down as being responsible for Edge's career really taking off big time. He would've, at some point, been a big time player by himself but Lita helped create the "Rated R Superstar" gimmick that got huge. Without the Matt/Lita/Hardy fiasco, Edge would've never gotten as big as he did that quickly. It groomed him to go onto bigger things and now he's a 9 time World Champion.

Alot of guys have too much respect for the business to take such big send offs.

Flair would have never asked for what he got. Everyone chose to show him how much they respect and adored him.

Look at HBK....He legit retired and did so without a huge deal. he flat out called it a career in storylines and what not. Rock and Austin didnt close that door like he did.
