Ocarina of Time. It's one of the few games I can play through over and over without getting tired of it.
Goldeneye is another good choice, because its multiplayer mode is an endless source of fun. Played it again last week at my brother's place.
Fifa and COD pretty much all I play, Fallout 3 was quality will def get the new one of that when its out.
1. Max Payne 1 (PC)
The Rest: T.H.U.G 1 (PS2)
NHL '94 (MegaDrive)
GTA: San Andreas (PS2)
FIFA Road To World Cup '98 (PS1) (More good memories playing it than it actually being a great game)
Streets of Rage I (MegaDrive)
Bound to be more, those are just what I think of straight away.

FF7 - Just an overwhelmingly good plot, story, character, battlesystem, minigames, everything
MGS3: Snake Eater - Perfect Ending to a perfect game.
Zelda: OOT - If I have to explain, you are an idiot.
GTA: San Andreas - Size, story, sandbox. Fun.

Shenmue: Truly an awesome game, it was one of the first and only games to draw me in and made me want to see what was going to happen next.
Mortal Kombat II: The best Mortal Kombat game period. Definitely my fave, it had all the made the first one good, even better.
Sonic the Hedgehog 2: You cant go wrong with this awesome platformer, easily my favorite 2D Sonic game and was the first Sonic game I ever played and got me into the series.

Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Chaos Theory
Perfect Dark
Conkers Bad Fur Day
No More Heroes 1
Resident Evil 4 - The controls finally being "fixed" solved most of the problems I had with the series (loved RE2 on N64 though). My favorite game from the DC/GC/Xbox/PS2 era.
The Legend of Zelda Majora's Mask - Liked this one more than OoT although to be fair I didn't get OoT until a good 6 years after it was released.
Legend of Zelda (NES, Virtual Console) - Very special game for me since it ended up being the 1st game I ever owned (played it before SMB/Duck Hunt), 1st game I ever beaten, and the only game I manage to make sure to play at least once a year as tradition.
Counter Strike - Even though I'm not much of an online gamer, this is the only game that I played a lot online.
GTA Vice City - 1st GTA game I ever owned and the whole Miami 1980s feel of it was better than the early 90s feel of SA or late 90s with III.
TimeSplitters 2 - Monkeys that is all.
The Orange Box (Xbox 360) - Bought it when it was $20 but either way probably the best deal of this gen since its 3 games and 2 "episodes" in 1 box.

Soulcalibur series - Overall I just love the series, my favorite 3D fighting games. The movement, the gameplay, it's all good. SC4 is probably the best looking fighter out right now. It's earlier games are still playable because of the series' standard of quality. Although SC4 got combo happy, it's still my fave of the bunch. And SC2's system is the 'ideal' fighting game engine according to my beliefs of how they should play.
Capcom vs SNK 2 - Favorite 2D fighting game. Period. A huge roster, multiple Grooves to select, great gameplay, two companies going to war with their iconic fighters... Wanna play this right fucking now.
Halo 3 - Incredible multiplayer gameplay with great features. Nuff said. And yes, the hype is totally justified. I'd put Halo 3 up against not only other FPS games, but games in general. You cannot beat it's feature list. And there's nothing quite like Halo LAN parties. Damn I miss high jacking a local university's rec room for 12plyr mayhem...
Devil May Cry series - Such a fanboy for this. Cool character and solid action gameplay had me dumping hours in these games (particularly 3 and 4). I could play Bloody Palace for hours, getting myself hype over the action I'm conducting. Rarely do I feel badass as when I'm playing this game. However...
Bayonetta - Very easily the greatest action game ever made. Gameplay mechanics still worth write-ups, imo. It does these things in gameplay that I believe other dev teams proposing to create action games should note. Like Dante, Bayonetta herself is an over the top character I can get behind.
Not remotely what I meant.
Super Street Fighter 4 - Fave Street Fighter now and probably hence forth. 3rd Strike held the title previously. Though still kinda turtle friendly overall, the small changes made a much more balanced game. Lots of characters and a great presentation round it out for me.
Fighting games in general - If you've never had a large session, 5 or 6 guys passing the controller tryng to be the next 'streak', you simply do not understand. Offline 'Endless Battles' will never be matched, but I applaud modern fighters aiming to recreate it.
Tom Clancy brand games (Vegas 2 in particular) - Aside from Endwar (which needs seasoning), I've enjoyed Rainbow 6, Ghost Recon, and Splinter Cell a lot. The terrorist hunt mode in Vegas 2 was great fun, and there was plenty chances to get tactical. Unlike a certain other realistic shooter, it compounds it's hardcore, high risk gunplay with a dedicated cover mechanic.
Battlefield series (and spiritual spin-offs) - Favorite military shooter games are found here. It reminds of how me and my bros dumped all of out toys on the floor and played out a war, using the characteristics of an action figure authentically. The Battlefield series is essentially playing with a lot of toys at once, and I love it. Battlefield styled games (like Star Wars Battlefront) automatically tickle my fancy because of this. And on that...
Star Wars Battlefront 2 - Favorite Star Wars game for reasons similar to why I love Battlefield. I'd totally host Battlefront 2 LAN parties and go as far as buying multiple copies to do it... If they're still around.
Zelda series - Yeah yeah.
Final Fantasy 8 - I once came home from school and played this until it was time to go to school again. I was that hooked.
Splinter Cell Chaos Theory - One of the greatest multiplayer concepts at it's peak. Me and a buddy had 1v1 system link matches where some hilarious stand-offs ad wild mind games went down.
Guitar Hero/Rock Band series - Still find playing my favorite music with plastic guitars to be one Hell of a session. Not to mention the occurrence of discovering new acts, and having the ability to get new tracks (from a pool of hundreds) keep it fresh. Full band play is one of those offline experiences you just have to have to understand (like Halo LAN or fighting game sessions).
Star Wars KOTOR 1/2 - One of my favorite Star Wars games, one of my favorite WRPGs, and overall of of my favorite games period. I can't even explain it, they just clicked.
X-Men Legends 1/2, Marvel Ultimate Alliance - Although the MUA2 managed to put a dent in the series, these Marvel themed dungeon crawlers were some great times with 4plyr co-op and taking on enemies. Me and the guys would take time discussing which power ups were worth getting and we each 'owned' our characters throughout the adventure. MUA2 missed the mark by nixing the deeper RPG elements and playing rather chaotically but I still love the series.
WWF/E games - Though these days the Smackdown series makes one good one every 2 or 3 years, I still remember a conversation I had with friends while having a SvR06/DoR2 binge; We believe no matter what's going on in the TV side of things (and this back when it was much more watchable, mind you), pro-wrestling translates amazingly well as videogames. Some of the most fun gaming experiences I ever had involved a wrestling game and four people. And when we started acting out CAW promotions (a tradition that slowed down around SvR08), we literally skipped the actual shows to meet our own schedules.
Resident Evil series - I just love the mythology.
Spider-Man 2 (movie game) - A deep locomotion system and a (then) expansive city to swing around in provided me the ability to play authentically as my childhood superhero in a game they still don't know how to follow up.
City of Heroes - Create a superhero? This is me we're talking about.
Yeah, I'm done now.

Also I could easily add another 10 games solely for the memory of playing with friends.
Halo 2, Kingdom Hearts 2, Day of Reckoning, Smackdown: HCTP, SMB3, Msrio Cart: Double Dash, Age of Empires, Unreal Tournament, All Doom games, Quake 2, Guitar Hero 2.

Megaman series- Easily the best platformer ever, imo. Extremely tight controls, great level design, and a ton of cool weapons and features. And they never get old. I must have played through megaman 2 about 200+ times by now.
Rockband/Guitar Hero- One of the few modern games that I can say I'm legit good at. Music is a huge passion in my life, so obviously I'm going to love these games.
Firepro Wrestling Returns/KOC II- No matter how good the latest smackdown is, i always end up coming back to these two games. Best wrestling games of all time, as far as I'm concerned, and they will never be topped unless a sequel comes out. Which sadly, is very unlikely.
Ninja Gaiden (Original Series)- A lot of gamers today brag about how skilled they are, but I bet that if most of them tried to beat the original Ninja Gaiden trilogy with no save states, they would weep. Very good platformer, but god damn is it hard. I beat the first two, but never ended up finishing the third.

Couple more:
Metroid- Love this series so much. The first metroid was the original survival horror game. That huge strange enviornment. The creepy music. The feeling of being totally alone on a strange world. Loved the format of it, and when it went first person, they managed to capture all of that, which definitely surprised me. I WANT ANOTHER 2D METROID GOD DAMN IT
Legend of Zelda series- Don't need to say anything here that hasn't been said.
Burnout series- Favorite racing games ever. I am not into sim racers so don't crucify me for putting it above GT. That said, burnout is the best arcade racer ever. Nothing else can touch it.

No. Not a bad game by any stretch, but Jesus Christ, I want to shank you right now for suggesting that people should play 200 hours of it.

LOLNO.
Kalyx, you are to video games as Noid is to wrestling.
Don't insult Noid that way.
Hmmm...Let's see about favourite games.
Burnout 3: Pinnacle of the Burnout series. It manages to get pretty much the perfect arcade racing blend. Plus, the balance of risk/reward and combat. While it put a bit more emphasis on Takedowns than psychotic driving, there was still a fuckton of it.
No Mercy/Day of Reckoning 2: No Mercy could still be borderline perfect if they upgraded the graphics and pace. Even roster updates would be a secondary issue. Day of Reckoning 1 and 2 were spiritual successors, though they lost a step in terms of features.
Saints Row 2: Best current gen sandbox game, at least one of the best Sandboxes to date. Certain unlocks allow you to do really fun shit like the RPG pole vault, and skydiving without a parachute. Online co-op was awesome, customisation rocked, and my favorite: Hooker toss competitions. Some of the shit was dumb, but Holy Hell, I still don't want to stop playing the game. I'm hoping SR3 offers more of all they did right, and 4 player co-op.
Geometry Wars/GW2: I think I'll be playing this 20 years from now unless they wipe it from the face of the Earth. So simple, yet so addictively fun.
Rock Band 2: Should be self explanatory.
Probably more, I'm just not going to go all auspieburger on the place.

Nah, simultaneous playing for 46 hours in 3 days.
Also KK, I think FF7, had all those things, just opinion. Also for the noid/kalyx comparison it was about averaged post length.

The Assassins Creed series: Being that I'm a religious history major all of the symbols and cities interest me greatly, and the Templar conspiracies that it put's forward are always pretty interesting. Love the stories in both of the main games and I just find everything about the game perfect for me to enjoy.

Read a book some day. The characters are shallow and inconsistent, the plot bunches like an accordion, and the story could have been written by a 12 year old.
It may be your opinion, but it is similarly my opinion that you were 12 and Sepiroth probably gave you your first erection, so you're looking for a "No Homo" way of justifying yuor love for wangsty bishounen types.
"That's my opinion" only goes so far and works both ways.

Sephiroth did give me a huge erection, however it was his razor sharp elbows that did that.

And I'm not calling Saints Row 2's story amazing. Because that would be completely stupid. Like calling FFVII's story amazing.
One can enjoy the game without becoming a slobbering fucktard and fellating it for things that aren't true. Well, normal people can. I don't think Kal can be at all realistic, but there may be hope for you.
Anyway, try not to conflate criticism of the plot or characters with hatred of the game. We've been over that one before, considering I've bought the game three times, counting replacing a damaged disc and buying it on PSN and playing it on my PS3 and PSP. Or as Noid would put it, "Kane Knight hates the Final Fantasy VII and would never, ever purchase it."
Don't be like Noid and Kal. Join the thinking population who can understand nuances, who can understand shades of gray instead of black and white. You can do it.
To end on a lighter note, I'll end with Linkara.

The gameplay is top notch, difficulty curve is just right, the humour in the story is quotable to this day, the challenge of saving all 300 mudokons is balanced by the ability to quiksave. Art and sound beautiful and atmospheric. The whole game is brilliantly designed.

Hard to say...tomb raider has a very fond spot in my memory, tekken 3, grand turisismo, Final Fantasy 7 & 8 (I always thought 8 was by far a better game than 7 but 7 gets more love).
Then later on I spent like a year straight playing nothing but Halo, but I dunno if I can name it my fav game of all time...its hard to name just one game.
But these stand out in my memory as games Ive thrown a lot of time away playing..

You dont have to name one game, thats why I put game(s) in the title.
I played Tomb Raider a shitton back in the day, Tekken has always been good, GT2 I played the shit out of. FF7 I have already given my views on and the magic and fighting system in FF8 was my favorite, but the story was atrocious and the main character was a whiny emo kid.
I would count games you played for over 200+ hours.
