After watching the Cena promo on Monday where he's talking about Warcraft, his eamil is fancypants.org and gets mad and says "hotdog fudge packer" or something like that. Do you think if he had the option to push buttons, be mean/ use semi naughty refrences, would he be more tolerable? Think about it, if Stone Cold couldnt flip the bird, and the Rock was completely disney approprate would they be the same as Cena is now?

Cena's a dork, he wouldn't fit in the wild late 90's.

It's the writing not the rating.

Yeah, I think Cena would have definitely fit in with the Attitude Era if he felt like he needed to, or if it followed the landscape of what WWE wanted his character to be.

Cena was pretty good most of that promo. I think what put that over the top is that it seemed more tongue in cheek than the WWE's usual digs.

And he'd be on Heat or doing dark matches, because they wouldn't have pushed him as readily in the Attitude Era environment.

If you like pretending the past was somehow without error, gimme a Hell Yeah!

The rating LIMITS the writing. A TV-14 rating would allow for more flexibility in writing.

Did he really say "hotdog fudge packer"?

What the fuck is that supposed to mean?

He either likes Limp Bizkit or chocolate covered hot dogs? He likes to dip hot dogs in chocolate fudge?

He did not literally say "hotdog fudge packer".

He actually said "Baloney Fudge and Mustard".

Depends...

If you plop Cena into the Attitude Era, I think he's an upper midcard heel doing his white rapper gimmick. Everyone would be talking about how he should get a world title run, but the likes of Rock, Austin, HHH, 'Taker, etc are clogging up the main event scene.

Now? Basically the same character, with less comedy and more intensity, IMO

Would have loved to see a heel rapper Cena cut rap promos on the Godfather in the attitude era

He did not literally say "hotdog fudge packer".

And it was basically just a way to say something "angry" that wasn't profane.

Doesn't really sound angry. More like gay.

I have to wonder if Cena would have joined the Nation of Domination?

No, but they would have joined the Cenation.

Exactly. Did you ever see the Penn and Teller Episode about Swearing? The woman that they got to talk about it was CRAZY.

When she was mad, she screamed something like "shut the front door" instead of using a swear.

She was also showing how to teach her son how to flip people off with a non-middle finger while driving.

It's the emotion of what you are saying that actually matters not the words you choose.

SANTA VARGA!

Or whatever it was.

"Shut the Front Door" is a common "Shut the Fuck up" replacement, and it doesn't get any better with time.

My favourite is "Sugar Honey Ice Tea." Yes, spelling "shit" makes it okay.
