I got a kick out of them referencing Fourtune not being "a pissed off band off rookies".

also I wonder if Styles is going to get a TV Title belt now that the Global one is the TV title.

and watching Tommy Dreamer wrestle is just sad

Droford

I wouldnt say there was anything memorable..

The Tag Cage match was predictable since you knew MCMG would win to "stave off elimination"..it wasnt that bad but not as good as the ladder match was.

Watching Hardy and Anderson beat up the Security guards..why are they doing the "security guards wrestling" angle again?

and this Abyss/Dreamer match is just sad to watch..though its always fun to see Raven beating on Tommy Dreamer I guess.

I thought Raven was on Dreamer's coalition thingy?

Aguakate
07-29-2010, 11:05 PM
TNA has no NORTH. They're just doing alot of different things, at the same time, at various stages, to see if something works...if they "strike gold" so to speak...

...but that's not the way to do things.

Af if TNA thinks that having hardcore matches is the answer, they're wrong about that too.

Raven never looked particularly happy about being involved in it so maybe he's pissed off Tommy drug him out of whatever hole he was living under to do it.

Also, Raven needs to dye his hair back. Blond Raven doesn't look right..at all.

I really, really try to defend tna but they make it damn difficult sometimes. The cage match was great.A summer series has been tradition in wrestling for a while, and this one is up there with the best imo.matt Morgan and Anderson had a good segment. The knockouts did ok.My biggest problem lately is that they change things way too much, too soon.from title names to heel/face changes, ppv themes, days their on t.v. and what shows, and whatever the shit eric young was doing tonight. It's russo wrestling and everyone is sick of it.The security guards are right out of his playbook.I give Impact a 6.5 for the cage, fortune getting in a dig at nexus, and for a raven/dreamer throwback moment.

Yea, Beer Money and MCMG are still the best teams in tag wrestling today. I didnt "hate" the Anderson/ Morgan angle either.

Side note, the two "random security guards" looked better in the ring/ in better shape than most of the TNA roster. Who were they? They look oddly familiar

I don't know if the "barbed wire on the board" really WAS barbed wire, or if it was fake, but Abyss threw Dreamer on it and then went for the cover, with barbed wire all around him, and didn't seem to mind...

...I thought "Hmm, the barbed wire is so dangerous that Abyss just throws himself on it".

Well that sucks. Three of my least favorites of all time sounds awful. Swinger was never good at least i never saw a match of his that was good. Balls and Axl are just two of the worst ever. If those two aren't swinging a chair they're at a lost cause.

I didn't forget about Impact. I just had to miss some of it because I was talking on the phone to a prospective roommate. You know I'm always trying to defend TNA as well. And you know what, I will still defend TNA.....it's Eric Bischoff I have a hard time defending right now. Does anybody remember the last time he and Russo were working for the same company? Once upon a time Bischoff was the man, but he got tunnel vision and screwed it up. It looks like the same thing is happening here. He's letting Russo run out of control with some bad scripting and it needs to be kept in check. Honestly, since Hogan and Bischoff have come in, I haven't seen near as much change in the product as I thought there would be going in.

Gotta admit, I hate hearing him talk right now, and I hate everything about the angle he's involved with.

Abyss was entertaining, previous as a Kane/Undertaker/Mankind knockoff.

Then the little schoolgirl phase came. And the Hulkamania phase. And now the "They" phase.

Fuck's sake, and it's all kept him heavily in focus.

EV2.0 is also annoying, for different reasons. And combine the two....

lol, kinda ironic that their highest rated Impact in a while is one no one on TPWW watched

PDATE: The actual rating for TNA Impact was a 1.22, the highest rating since the February 18 show. The main jump in the ratings was in the male 12-17 demographic, which jumped from a 0.97 to a 1.21. The rating among males 18-34, 18-49, and 12-34, as well as the overall adult 18-49 demographic, did not increase and in some cases even dropped.

TNA is confusing in lots of ways.

1. They realize that they have amazingly skilled tag team workers in MCMG and Beer Money. They capitalized on that by creating this series of matches. Kudos.

2. Then they do everything else that they do -- Knowing what the fans actually like and want to see.

When did they sit down and say...Ok fellas we have amazing athletes such as MCMG's, Beer Money, AJ Styles ect......so lets keep them off TV this week to make room for Tomy Dreamer & Abyss.

I know they are trying to "pander" to EVERY demographic but they have to realize what they have in front of them. Instead of branching off in a million different directions all at once why can't they put the focus on a couple specific areas and create a niche market?

TNA did that with the Knockouts - Then they fucked it up.
TNA COULD have a niche market with tag team wrestling - It is something they obviously toy with.
TNA HAD a niche market with the X Division but they have all but forgotten about it.

They took what was once their strengths and instead relying on old business tricks and old school mentality and over branchin. Sometimes it just seems like TOO MUCH goes on and TOO MUCH tries to happen all at once...totally killing the effect.

I like a lot of things about TNA and my reviews are often times favorable so don't come back at me like I'm some Pro WWE TNA hater because that is not the case at all.

Just some observations from The Schlome I have been pondering ever since I really became a fan of the brand.

If I were TNA, after this Hardcore PPV I would tighten the reigns and regain control of the business end and SLOW DOWN the product. It really comes off as desperate and annoying the way they go out there and brag and claim all these amazing surprises. It isn't getting them anywhere except alienating people.

If I ran TNA I would do this:

1. Less talk - More wrestling ---that right there would set them apart from WWE.
2. Focus on the X Division and reignite the magic in it.
3. Rebuild the Knockouts division and hire a female writer specifically for their segments.
4. Fire Rob Terry (lol thats a personal vendetta more than anything)
5. Less TNA braggery & promises -- the element of surprise is a good thing --you build something up and up and up most of the time it won't deliver in the way they want.

ok that's enough of a rant...dunno why I'm even posting this especially in this thread where it probably won't even get viewed.

Can't we just agree that the whole "sport" is kind of lacking right now?

TNA is confusing in lots of ways.

I'm gonna truncate it to get to the heart of the matter:

They claim to be all about the fans. They go above and beyond the normal perfunctory lip service. And yet, they do all this batshit stuff that never appeals to anyone of consequence. They go well beyond "Tahnks for your response, your feedback is valued," but they don't seem to be able to figure out how to take it from there.

I don't know, I got like a half hour in to Raw this week and I just couldn't go any further. To me it's like KK said, neither is very good for any amount of time. In my opinion the last 2 weeks Impact has been better, though Raw last week was fairly good. But before that Raw had a couple weeks were it was better.

Don't really understand why it's so fashionable to bash Impact when the alternative is no better though.

Nothing, Dixie collects wrestlers like Action Figures and puts them on her shelf. Its retarded and them changing there company name wouldn't hurt either.
