When did Miz ever wear that jacket?

Also, Miz easily wins this one. He has done so much to prove himself in the WWE, going as far as to become the most interesting person for me personally to watch for each show.

Daniel Bryan, on the other hand, just came back and hasn't done anything impressive just yet.

Daniel Bryan's five minutes in the ring at Summerslam were better than The Miz's entire in-ring career. I won't deny that Miz has improved in the ring, but he's not at the point where I feel like I have to go on youtube to actually watch a Miz match I miss rather than read the results. That is not the case with Daniel Bryan.

Ditto. Its the same reason I voted for Billy Gunn last round, at this point of time The Miz has shown a lot more than Daniel Bryan.

Danielson easily. Though he's improved a lot I still don't really "look forward" to watching Miz wrestle, no denying he is great on the mic but I just don't care for him in-ring.

thedamndest
08-17-2010, 02:29 PM
I kind of feel like The Miz has plateaued in terms of his in-ring ability. He made dramatic improvements, but right now I feel like I'm watching the same Miz match that I was watching a year ago. As an up-and-comer he shouldn't be that comfortable.

Bryan Danielson is better in the ring than Miz. Miz may have improved but he is not at a level where I would say he's close to being good in the the ring. Miz is great on the mic obviously, but to be honest I actually think Danielson is pretty good on the mic also. The best thing of all of NXT Season 1 was the promo between Danielson and Cole as well as the beatdown of Cole along with him facing Jericho. Nothing else from Season 1 was good.

Voted for The Miz.

The Miz-Danielson/Bryan feud should benefit both wrestlers in the long term as long as the WWE doesn't drop the ball. Miz would have his main rival not named Cena while also being ready for a future WWE championship reign or main event scene. Danielson/Bryan would have the experience for a future IC title reign or at least high mid-card level.

I understand that, but you have to understand that I'm going to vote based on what I've seen. I know that Danielson's been around forever and he's supposedly amazing, but I've hardly seen any of his work. I've seen almost all of The Miz's relevant work. Should I vote against a guy I KNOW I like in favor of a guy I'm told I SHOULD like?

No, you shouldn't. I'm the first to agree with that too. But to vote against somebody simply because they've only been in WWE for 5 minutes seems stupid, that's all I was getting at.

In saying that if you read my post you'll see I wasn't actually having a go at anybody at who they've voted for, was just simply making that point. Just because you haven't been with Vince your whole career doesn't make you a new talent.

No he doesn't.

How can u say Bryan is that much better than The Miz? Miz has accomplished so much more. Maybe Bryan has more potential (whatever that means nowadays), but Miz has done "more than 1 thing" with his potential, Bryan has only been a big fish in a small pond up until now. 'Til he realizes all that potential "he has", Miz is better.

Honestly though, acting like Miz has accomplished that much more, or is any less of a cult sensation, is ridiculous.

When did this turn into "Better WWE Wrestler?"

The "Danielson has only been in WWE for five minutes" argument is beyond retarded.

The argument that Miz hasn't done more than Daniel Bryan is pretty stupid as well. In the eyes of the larger wrestling world (IE the casual fan), of course Miz has done more than Bryan.

But, as stated, we are not "casual" fans here, so this whole thing just really boils down to if the voter in question has actually seen Bryan outside of the WWE.

In my case, I have not. So Miz easily wins. I look forward to seeing The Miz and am captivated by him in a way that, given time, I might be by Daniel Bryan.

Danielson has plenty of accomplishments. The Wrestling Observer named him the Most Outstanding Wrestler in 06, 07, 08, and 09. He won Best Technical Wrestler in 05, 06, 07, 08, and 09. And he was named the Most Outstanding Wrestler of the 00's. And I bet those guys have seen both Danielson and the Miz wrestler a lot more than any of us have.

A Baseball player can be AWESOME in Japan, but once they come to the Major Leagues in the United States, that's when you separate the men from the boys. All the Championships and Awards in Japan add up to NOTHING, all people care about is how you perfom over here.

Same with the wrestling world. You can accomplish whatever u want, but what everybody cares about is if u get to the WWE, and how u fare.

Well he's been around longer and he's more over with the casual fan, but Bryan's first year is no slouch. I'm sure they all know who he is too.

It's not like the Miz has won any world titles or main evented PPVs yet. He's got a ton of potential, that's for sure.

He's currently in a feud with Bryan, as a matter of fact. That puts them on the same level from a kayfabe view. I don't think Bryan is that far away from becoming US Champion himself.

Was the award for the best class clown in the entire world? No? Then your example is retarded.

No one is denying that Bryan is the better technical wrestler.

But in terms of the amount of entertainment given directly to me, Miz wins.

And that is what I define as a wrestler. Not just their in-ring ability, but the entire package, and how much they have entertained me over their careers.

Well if we're going to base things on that, how about we just scrap Better Wrestler all together and just post the Wrestling Observer rankings. This is what makes it unique.

I'm not basing my decision on those awards. I'm merely pointing out that it's absolutely retarded to claim Danielson hasn't accomplished anything of importance in his career.

Keep in mind that I have no problem with people voting for The Miz because they're unfamiliar with Danielson's work. I realize most people don't follow the indies. That's not the problem. The problem is with people unfamiliar with his work claiming he's a nobody because he's not mainstream. Again, that's retarded.

I still think the claim lost all meaning a few months ago anyways. He was in the ring weekly with NXT, and has gone on to be a part of the major Nexus storyline, including a suprise return in the main event of Summerslam.

Now he's feuding with The Miz for the US Title. That is not nothing. Even if you discount his indy work, he's given us a decent sample of work and entertainment to work with in WWE.
WWE fans have gotten behind rookies for much less. It happens all the time (Mr. Kennedy, etc.)

Danielson has main evented Summerslam as a surprise and no build up... Don't get me wrong i really like the guy... BUT, Miz gets the nod for me based on the lack of footage I have seen of Danielson... Miz has done nothing but improve since he started and his entertainment / mic skills are insanely good...
