Apparently Sandman no showed the Impact tapings. After looking at the dude, he's lucky to be anywhere near a ring. Scott Hall did this a few years back in his match with Nash against Samoa Joe.

My question is, what do you guys think these washed up/ borderline blacklisted stars are thinking when they are given second chances and choose not to take them. Is it a pride issue or are they just drugged out fuck ups?

Usually it's rooted in apathy brought on by substance abuse.

Though, and I can't remember any off the top of my head, but I'm sure people have no-showed to play hardball either in contract negotiations or just to try to prove their worth or some such.

It could be any number of factors...could be as simple as they just don't care anymore.

People chanting "ECDub" and "EV 2.0" are responsible.

Probably because they'd rather not show up than show up as a shell of their former selves so everybody can see first hand what wastes they've become.

A bum who caught a lucky wave with a small time cult like movement in ECW and has never shown appreciation for it. People like Sandman clearly like everything that comes with being (somewhat) a famous wrestler (drugs, women, fans, etc. etc.) except for actually wrestling.

Let's face it. Sandman got his one little shot at the bigtime, 4 or 5 years ago as part of the same idea. A company with little imagination playing the ECW card to get a little boost. What motivation does he really have to work for a two bit promotion like TNA when he's going to be fed to people like Matt Morgan and then discarded after a month. Frankly I wouldn't of even bothered turning up for the PPV but he got what he wanted - a pay cheque and I suspect that was all he after.
