The game.

There isn't a thread about this on the two pages here. Has this been discussed?

Game is incredible.

I played the trial version yesterday. I probably won't see the movie and will never read the comics, but I really liked what I played. Obviously the developers were heavily influenced by River City Ransom, which just so happens to be one of the best games ever. I detected a little Mega Man in the music too.

Already beat the game with Scott on Supreme Master, and beat it on Average Joe with Ramona. Working on my Stills playthru now.

I am Average Joe, and I'd beat it to Ramona

Demo's pretty good. Looks just like the comics (lot of videogame references in the original comics).

There's a lot of references in the movie as well as the game. This is very much a hipster/scene sort of niche, and they play it up fairly strongly.

That's neither good nor bad, but it does explain its presence.

I enjoyed the demo, but I'm not sure whether I should get it. Ermax talked it up, but I'm still on the edge. After all, he's BDC's sock, and BDC has no tasted.

I dunno, didn't really like the demo. Enemies seemed pretty cheap, even for a beat-em-up.

Yeah, that was annoying, but from video I've seen, it looks like later on when you have more than the basic combo, enemies are going to be closer to canon fodder than cheap ass punks.

Do the songs actually fit the levels or are they just random chip music for the sake of chip music?

Because from what I've seen it's the latter.

I've only seen the first level and boss with sound, but it's pretty fucking good chip music. They got one of the more popular groups in the scene to do the music.

Yeah, played the demo. It's great music, don't get me wrong, but it doesn't fit in with the level to me. It's pretty much just cool music for the sake of cool music.

You mean, hipsterish nonsense? Because that fits in perfectly with the books, and thus the game.

I instantly loved the music and felt like it fit with the whole feel of the level/Scott Pilgrim, but I was familiar with the franchise before playing the game.
Kinda felt right to me since it was the first level and really fast paced/upbeat, plus the whole Toronto winter thing.
