Two articles from PWInsider:

With all the recent reshuffling of WWE live events for late November and early December, the belief among some in the company is that they will not be doing a tour with the USO this year to film a "Tribute to the Troops" special. '

I don't have that 100% confirmed, but the time period where the roster would usually fly to the Middle East is now comprised of house shows for both brands. So, stay tuned.

I'm hopeful that there will still be some form of special this year personally, as I've long felt it was the classiest night of the year for the industry.

To follow-up on a story from earlier today, we have now confirmed that there will not be a WWE overseas "Tribute To The Troops" show in the Middle East this year. However, WWE is looking into doing a similar style show domestically at a military base, possibly in Texas.

Tribute for the Troops has been replaced by Best of Wrestlemania, a one hour special which will include Shawn Michaels doing the zipline from Wrestlemania 12

I don't see a problem with it at all but there hasn't been a good Tribute to the Troops since 2006.

I'm surprised they aren't doing it. Brilliant PR. Especially if the Linda McMahon conspiracy club is right.

That's a shame. They always gone overseas to a U.S. military base around Christmas time every year.

I can't believe this is true. I mean it sets up to be a perfect P.R. for the Linda for Senate thing. Vince also said that was his most important show. Maybe they are losing more money then we all think and just can't afford it this year to send a whole crew over? Who knows.

Hmmm... maybe everything WWE does is NOT to compliment Linda's campaign...?

Just a thought...

It's clearly because combat troops are out of Iraq so it's too dangerous to go there. It's also too dangerous to do it in Afghanistan because of the rise of the Taliban insurgency.

The WWE's "tribute" to the troops will continue as it always had before we fought two wars at once. WWE gives free tickets to any show that is undersold to active military personnel.

So, what is going to replace the NBC special? They are contracted to produce two programs a year for NBC. The Wrestlemania thing is only one of those specials. They still have one more to produce this year. So, some sort of Supershow? SNME?

I think they should have a special where the Miz cashes in on Money in the Bank. Put him on National television winning the championship.

Bullshit. Linda's campaign is the only reason WWE does anything. Pepsi and Coke are the same! The Pope is a Lizardman!

Yes, and then you wake up.
