Back in July Anybody Thrilla asked the boards if they would be interested in partaking in a booking competition. There was a fair amount of interest and that grew into Armchair Warfare.

Season One is now in the bag so it's time to look forward to Season 2!

The rules are pretty simple:

1) If you are interested in booking or judging sign up in this thread.
2) 5 bookers will be selected at random.
3) They will create a company name and "draft" 20 -25 wrestlers for their show.
4) You book 4 weeks of 2 Hour TV shows leading to your big pay off at a 3 hour PPV.
5) Your show will be judged primarily by the official judges who will rank the shows 1 - 5. Points are given based on these rankings. There will also be a Public Poll from which you can gain Bonus points.
6) The company with the highest points total following the PPV Round will win the competition.

Also, thanks for the vote of confidence in urging me to defend my title but I'm gonna sit this one out. I'd rather "run" it to make sure it goes a little more "smoothly" this time around (no offense to AbT there).

Maybe I'll make a return in Season 3 if there aren't enough interested parties or in a "Best of" series.

There are no conditions atm, everyone is welcome to sign up. Like I said though, I would be inclined to give preferential treatment to those taht helped us through S1 (BizarroKing, Lock Jaw, etc).

How would you feel about having 2 games running side by side?

Have 2 sets of 4/5 bookers who each get the full eligible roster to pick from. Then have one set's deadline for Wednesday and the other for Sunday.

Would that work? Would the judges be willing to read 5 shows 2 times a week? Would we struggle to have enough judges?

Love that idea! Regarding the draft if we go along with the 2 games at once with a playoff, will the list of eligible workers be spread out for both sets? Let me set a example: Say someone in set 1 picks and gets Triple H for their brand. That means no one else in set 1 can have him. However, someone in set 2 could have him if they wanted yes since that's a separate set of brands, right? That's what I'm asking

That's spot on. The 5 shows in Set 1 don't exist in Set 2.

This idea came to me as a compromise to my selecting bookers issues. This way pretty much everyone gets to book but the concern of people dropping out is minimised - or at least we should have some semblance of the game left if they do flake on it.

Yes they were.

But the "problem" I have is that I think you and BizarroKing up there should get a chance to book this time around due to your stirling work on S1. Doing randomly means that you may get bumped for someone like Splaya - who I don't think contributed to S1 (and who, from experience of him in the c-feds, can be flakey with things like dedication).

On the flipside, I'm sure there are are other "nOObs" that will drift away from the game if they don't get to book. Where as you guys said you will judge again.

So, it's a toss up between wanting to give S1 Veterans a shot and wanting tpo keep the new guys onboard. Ideally I'd say S1 judges get to book whilst new guys become judges and show they can dedicate the time/effort to reading and judging and then they get their go at booking for Season 3.

I'm torn.

I feel really bad for missing Anybody Thrilla off the list of potential bookers (even if he thinks that I'm not) and I really wanna see what guys like Paul Heyman have to offer.

However, we couldn't keep 10 judges all the way through Season 1, so I'm concerned we won't be able to get/keep 20 for two concurrent seasons. We could use the same set of judges but I feel they may burn out. We could even have some the bookers of Set 1 on the judging panel of Set 2(and vice versa) - but then do we risk bias as a Set 1 Booker/Set 2 Judge may not want to face-off against a certain show from Set 2 and use their vote to hinder that show. Or there is room for "backhanded" voting (I'll rank you top if you rank me top" kinda thing.

Also, the bookers that missed out this time should only have to wait about 6 weeks to get in the next game. We should see Show 1 in a weeks time, then the next 4 shows every 7 days and 10 days to write the PPV (obviously if the shows get sent in early they'll get posted early).

There's always the option to start Season 3 midway through Season 2.

I did a "dry run" of the Draft last night with the 4 boards I have just to make sure I knew what I was doing. Some very interesting choices going on.

XL may I make an suggestion about judges. I think the bookers from season 1 should be some of the judges as they've shown that they can hit deadlines and the show a passion for the compitition. Not to mention they know what it takes to book a show. If you don't go with that idea at least make DTTS a judge he was the most vervant member of Armchair Warfare last season and he'd probably be very reliable and honest.

Please bear in mind that I never said that the guys listed 6th onwards were "alternates" so don't crucify me if that's not the way I go.

Thinking about it, putting Doc Brown back in makes most sense as I have his draft board already.

I will PM Noid (again!!) to see where we are. I'm guessing the time differences might be making this difficult (he's about 16 hours ahead of me, and I'm 5 hours ahead of the US east coast remember).

As for judges, like I said, nothing is concrete yet. Season 1 bookers are in the hat to judge. I might take on more than 10 judges but only use the scores from the first 10 to REVIEW the shows. Incentive to get the shows read and your scores in and it also covers our backs should any drop out like last time.

The first show I booked (Week 3) was me trying to fix problems I saw and put my own stamp on the show.

The second show I booked (Week 4) I had to hype the PPV.

The third show I bokked (PPV round) I had to pay off.

It was fun but it sucked not being able to set things up yourself.

I don't really like the idea of "Standby Bookers" after TSO had such a hard time in S1. You can drop your judging spot in anticipation of someone quitting early on, it's up to you if you wouldn't mind taking over someone elses show.

I'm hoping I have made it very clear how much work is involved for the bookers and what isexpected of them in terms of deadlines. Hopefully, that means there shouldn't be bookers dropping out or having their show "cancelled".
