View Full Version : Did they sometimes have someone else portray Sting?

I'm not talking about the Sting Army, nWo Sting or when someone impersonated him. It just seems that, once in a while, during an angle with Sting in WCW, he seemed a lot bigger than he actually was, both taller and bulkier. I'm talking about during his original run against the nWo and Hogan.

Was this my imagination or did they have someone else portray Sting to make him seem more intimidating during some angles?

I believe this not to be true

It was always the real Sting as far as I know. Are there any youtube videos featuring the "bulkier version"?

No idea, BUT if it was true, I don't think it'd be to 'make him more intimidating'. If it did happen it'd probably be for no other reason than Steve Borden being absent, maybe ill, had the shits, stuck in bad weather etc.

This video looks so much bulkier and slightly taller than here (same year):

<object style="height: 390px; width: 640px"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/19Z39rVeY50?version=3"><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"><param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always"><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/19Z39rVeY50?version=3" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" allowScriptAccess="always" width="640" height="390"></object>

Now that I think about it, it's probably his trench making him look taller and the fact that he obviously had gear to drop from the ceiling. Didn't take that into account on the bulk factor.

Related question - were there really 13 different Ultimate Warriors, or were there only 6?

I'm pretty sure at one point Ahmed Johnson portrayed Sting at House Shows.

Maybe he was still wearing the harness he'd wear in the rafters in that first video.

Yeah, those harnesses are like bulletproof jackets. You've only got to look at his face to know it's him.

Brandon Lee played him this one time.

Yeah, you can tell by his face, especially his eyes. Its always been Borden to the best of my knowledge.

What about the rumor of 3 different Hakus? They each ate the previous one until the 3rd one died of heart disease and a hairball in 2002.
