Pretty sure this was discussed a couple of weeks ago. But yeah he should be, and I'm sure he will be. :y:

Have you seen the commercial about Chocolate axe? His body on that photo looks photoshopped.

i think anybody who was ever wwe champion will eventually be asked to get inducted into the hall of fame, just depends on if they want to.

you've had to explain this more than once, which means it's probably not a good joke. just saying.

Haystacks Calhoun Jr. used the Ghostbusters theme as his entrance theme. :'(

Didn't Haystacks lose a shitload of weight?

Xero
01-29-2011, 08:22 PM
He died in 89, so I'd imagine so.

You think it had something to do with his diet?

From Wiki:

On May 30, 1973, Calhoun even paired with Tony Garea to defeat the feared Japanese duo of Mr. Fuji & Prof. Toru Tanaka for the WWWF Tag Team Titles; however, his massive weight and ailing health eventually forced him into retirement, and he was ultimately confined to a double-wide trailer after losing his left leg to diabetes in 1986. He died at age 55 on December 7, 1989; and WWE has since honored him among its 50 greatest wrestlers.

===

So yeah, he lost a leg. That's a bit of weight.

My thing with Haystacks getting into the Hall of Fame is simple. His booking was emulated by the first person to go into the Hall of Fame, Andre The Giant. He was put in multiple matches where it was him vs 2-3 people (local jobbers) as almost a side show act on the card.
His gimmick was used by another person in the hall of Fame, Hillbilly Jim. The rustic country boy gimmick was then used by Henry O. Godwin, and I'm sure a handful of other people.

Aside from the fact that he his booking style and gimmick were used by other people in the Hall of Fame, Haystacks did a lot of his booking in the North East area, mainly working for WWWF. While he was a one trick pony he was the best at his trick.

The statement and the picture are clearly not exclusive.

Xero on the other hand gets it right.

Foley should get in but I can also see him not being the main star or biggest name for that year's inductee's class. Too many big names left before Foley could get the "star" of the inductee treatment.

I could see Earthquake going in. He had that good feud with Hogan, is pretty much universally known as a nice guy, and he is dead now.

Only in wrestling could a Morbidly Obese, Bald, Hairy Guy make a career out of being a fat f#*k. It's not like he could move in the ring. It's not like he was good on the mic. And he sure a hell didn't have the look. I never understood why Earthquake or Typhoon/TugJob ever had a career in wrestling period.
