The first two movie-games were meh. War for Cybertron was great. So what do you do? HAVE THE GUYS WHO MADE WFC MAKE THE NEXT MOVIE GAME. So in a rare case of common sense, Activision put High Moon on the task of bringing Dark of the Moon home.

- WfC's great control scheme returns, so it will be familiar.
- Multiplayer returns, but may be the style of RotF, where you play actual characters instead of 'creating' your own.
- Big gimmick this time is a third battle mode where your vehicle mode gets pimped out. They will probably make a balance of robot mode, battle mode, and vehicle mode during gameplay.
- Multiplayer modes TBA.
- Story is a prequel to the upcoming movie.

High Moon is still working on the true sequel to WfC, but that's being allowed a full development cycle. Until then, we have the obligatory movie tie-in. Could be a decent time waster.

When does Activisions license expire? So sick of all their Transformer games. WFC was dull.

WFC was great. Multiplayer was raped by no host migration but it was very fun.

So MP on this will be dead in two weeks?

Kind of a shame. I wanted to try WFC, but the big draw was MP and I had other games I wanted. It was like a month later and the community was too dead for me to bother.

Last I played there was less than 900 people online in the world. One of the gametypes had a whopping zero players in the hopper.

Essentially WfC 1.5. Well, after reading previews, WfC 0.8. You choose character models again and mess with their colors - but you may not be able to choose different models per class. It's like the limited Revenge of the Fallen multiplayer infected WfC in the worst way.

Aesthetic weaknesses aside it's still class-based gameplay with the same four classes and perks that made WfC a shockingly strategic and fun game.

I just can't help feeling this tie-in is a stop gap before the true War for Cybertron sequel.
