I don't understand. How much does it cost to play the "full version"? Do people not play the classic version anymore? Do you download it or play it in browser? The whole thing is ambiguous to me.

from what they tell me, if you buy it now then you have to pay for updates in the future. however if you go on ebay and buy an alpha key, then you get free updates for life

Completely unrelated, but I'm too lazy to make a thread to address BDC.

Hey asshat, try "Rebuild" on Kongregate. It's a "sim city" ish game with a zombie motif and dark humour. The only thing that would make it more perfect is if you actually played out the zombie attacks.

At what point did this go into effect? I think I bought it when it was in alpha but I'm not positive.

The game is amazing, BTW. Gonna start a new map tonight.

iirc, you bought it when I posted about it? If so, it was alpha.

Not read about beta people having to pay for updates though.

this is from some guy's ebay listing. obviously take it for whatever

Notch, developer of Minecraft:

"We will also change the license to remove the line that promises "all future versions of the game for free". Please note that this change only affects people who buy the game after December 20, so if you got the game for during alpha, you will still get all future updates for free, despite this change. A promise is a promise."

Just looked it up, updates will always be free, but after Minecraft comes out of beta, there will be expansion packs. Alpha purchasers will get them for free, while everyone else will have to cough up.

I'm happy either way. The game is definitely worth any expansion packs IMO.

That said, glad I get them free.

And at night, things show up and kill you.

That's basically it. notch has promised more for the full release, but as Yahtzee said, it's not even so much as sandbox GAME as it is a sandbox.

It's cool seeing the shit people have done, like on Youtube and the like, but playing the game bores the ever loving shit out of me.
