It is, indeed, pretty awesome.

I'm surprised that Colt Cabana never really went anywhere in the WWE. The man can wrestle, can talk, is not small...is absolutely hilarious. I think the timing was off more than anything. I'd love to see the WWE get their paws on Cabana again.

He should defend the NWA World Heavyweight Title at least once as Matt Classic.

IMO, he doesn't "have the look" to be a star in WWE.....

Punk Star Of David's Colt Cabana? lol.

The fact is Colt Cabana failed in the WWE while Punk Suceeded. Dont get me wrong I like Cabana but I think he just has very little to offer besides "LOL I AM A FUNNY JOKESTER" and thats why he couldnt stick around the WWE ship because he had no evolution and didnt have potential to be different. With Punk he is mad flexible and had a bunch of different characters so far.

But Id still like to see Cabana back some day.

Yeah. But to be fair... if it meant anything then Colt Cabana probably wouldn't be holding it.

Wait I mised something.

Wasn't the NWA title the TNA heavyweight title?

Like TNA was NWA-TNA then just became TNA?

Or is this a new NWA?

Hey Vince, you gave him nothing to do in WWE and look at him now.

They let TNA use the NWA title until TNA got a cool looking one IMO and then they traded that in for the Jeff Hardy title.

Regardless of the state of the NWA, it's still an amazing thing for a professional wrestler to achieve. And the NWA Title is not going to mean anything until someone makes it mean something. More people care about Colt Cabana than Adam Pearce, so it's a step in the right direction, in my opinion.

Yeah, I agree on that notion, Noid. I didn't really care for Pearce as champion. As I said about defending the title around the world, I hope Colt goes the "traveling champion" route, as past champions did before, defending it in every NWA territory.

lol what, all 3 or 4 of them? Not exactly Flair going to St. Louis is it. You don't half come out with some daft illogical stuff to try and show people your 'knowledge' at times.

Seth82
03-09-2011, 01:52 PM
yeah the NWA has been sorta dead since 1988 when Ted Turner bought WCW

NWA World Champions traveled all over the globe defending the title and in those days not any joe schmoe who wrestled in front of a 100 people won the title

The title however has lost all meaning as when Flair held it actually meant something

because it is a WORLD title and guys like Flair truly traveled the world defending it

Colt Cabana is probably one of the best independent wrestlers around. I saw him live and he was great. Don't know what your problem is.

My favorite Tommy Rich moment was his epic tag bout with Bill Dundee against Dennis Condery and Phil Hickerson back in June of '76.

Single handedly ended the Spanish-American War, it did.

Seth82
03-09-2011, 06:25 PM
ok I didn't word that correctly

I mean I find it incredibly odd

Tommy Rich was a damn good wrestler back in the late 70's and early 80's

He only held the NWA World belt for like 5 days though as Jim Barnett who owned Georgia Championship Wrestling didn't get the approval of the NWA

and it's been said Barnett gave Rich the title as a thank you of sorts for the "Favors" that Tommy Rich provided him

I do however like Colt Cabana he seems like a nice enough guy

Bryan Danielson woulda been a great champion no doubt about it

but now he works for WWE where he will never win their world title
