Opens up on Friday, was wondering who all will be going to see it?

I actually just found a great copy online and just finished watching it. I think it was great and really makes me look forward to the other Marvel movies.

There's no decent copies online right now anyway. I just downloaded a TS but the video looks like it was filmed behind 3 inches of plate glass. Going to see the 12:01 showing tonight

Id give it a B-

The cast was really good, but they didn't get enough material. Thors four warrior buddies had no background at all. It was like four walking stereo types. The tough female, the asian, the handsome guy and the burly bearded guy who eats a lot. It seemed like they wanted to atleast tell the female warriors background, but it never happend. Also too many scenes where they just talk. The character I found myself most interested in was the gatekeeper. They did no background on him either even tho its insinuated that he's a bad ass.

I agree, I really wanted more background on characters, with more backstory. Kinda how spiderman did with introducing you to everyone, letting you know a little bit of the background.

To me felt kinda rushed, with no real substance to it.

RP, that is a good assesment. I feel that the tragedy there lies in the pen, not the performance. This cast delivered as best could be expected. and to be honest, I got lost with the whole why was the bad guy he bad guy. What the hell was he trying to accomplish? Maybe I should see it again.

Loved it. One of the best Marvel films, I'd say. Starmaking performance from Chris Hemsworth. Tom Hiddleston was also fantastic. I got sad at the one Hawkeye appearance though. Given that he appeared so early, I was hoping he'd have a bigger part.

Loved it, A-.

Now as for the casting...the fact that there was one Asian and maybe 2 or 3 Black Asgardians(sp?) kind of annoyed me. The dude that played the gate keeper was awesome, but because he was like the only black guy in a sea of honkies, made it seem so token for him to be there despite turning in a good performance. Really wish they showed more diversity in Asgard since they decided to make one guy black.

I assume there's no good copy online?

All I could find were recordings from cinema.

Also, 2 or 3 black Asgardians? The fuck? I thought that Idris Elba guy was the only one. This is getting sillier and sillier.

I might have to start stalking Jaimie Alexander after seeing her in that movie.

enjoyed everything else a lot too, had forgotten Colm Feore was Laufey so that was a nice surprise.

I recall seeing one other black guy that was random guard #3. Also Hogun was the only Asian dude I remember in all of Asgard.

I definitely loved it as well. Not as good as some other type of Marvel films but it holds its own. Tom Hiddleston was great as Loki.

Yeah, but the Asian guy is supposed to be there. Don't remember the details, but this is how it worked in the comics.

I liked this and I don't really like most superhero movies, even some of the highly regarded ones like Iron Man, but I thought this was good. There was a lot to squeeze in, but Branagh did a good job of putting the whole thing together, making it fun and giving it it's own identity.

I really liked this. I grew up on fantasy films and this struck a chord with me. I can't help but feel they should have had more Asgard scenes in it. Chris Hemsworth is totally Thor, I'm talking Chris Reeves/Superman stuff here. I didn't expect to like him so much. Jamie Alexander/Lady Sif should have had more scenes, she's so pretty.

Loki, Loki, Loki... On one hand I really liked him... but I feel like he could have played his role less obvious at least until he 'comes out' in the middle. He has potential to be a very complicated villain, not that he's bad. I don't expect him to be Joker/Hannibal status but he should have had more to 'say', I guess. It seems he set his xanatos gambit before he knew about his true lineage, which kinda cheapens him. I figure his descent into madness should start after the first clue in the first battle. Then again he was always jealous of Thor and blah blah.

Seeing what Thor can do; hard to imagine he'd need a team. Interesting to see how Avengers justifies this. I mean he rolls with Sif and the Warrior's Three, so he does acknowledge help, I guess. But damn he summons hurricanes and shit...

Really liked the movie. The SHIELD stuff felt tacked on. He's like, "Give her stuff back and we'll be friends now I gotta go do GOD stuff."

Seriously he doesn't need a fucking team.

They said theyre having them take on a gigantic threat with an alien invasion, instigated by loki... id say thats a lot for thor by himself

Jus sayin... Hurricanes on demand. Stark shoots lasers, Cap throws a metal frisbee, don't get me started on the archer.

Only person on his level is Nick Fury, because he is Sam Jackson.

Always felt that way about "god" characters.
I remember when Thor came back and fought Iron Man. That was easily one of the best comics I have ever read. I remember Thor #600 when Thor alone just wipes out the entire Dark Avengers.

Sir Reavant is correct.

Thor's power level has been a bit inconsistent throughout the years though. At times, he would get knocked down by some of the avengers' crummier villains, while in his own book he was singlehandedly taking on Galactus or the celestials.
