What was the difference between the two characters? Or was it just a name thing?

Christian Cage was during his gimmick where he would only wrestle guys under contract with TNA. Weird, I know.

i guess he was Christian Cage before he came to wwe. I find this on wikipeedia. One of Reso's early ring names, "Christian Cage", was a combination of the names of the actors, Christian Slater (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christian_Slater) and Nicolas Cage (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nicolas_Cage).[ (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christian_%28wrestler%29#cite_note-SLAM-3)

what I was wondering was what was the difference between personalities. Was he more serious as Cage or was he essentially the same character in WWE?

Not when he debuted but eventually he did around the mid-point in his TNA career.

I think WWE tried to sue or prevent TNA/Christian from using the term "Peeps" but got blocked by the company who actually makes Peeps and owns the copyright.

Christian Cage was a legit main eventer and multiple time World Champion.

He was basically the same guy he was in WWE in 2005

He used the name "Christian Cage" because WWE would not allow him to just use "Christian"

Usual TNA- Debut'd as face. Instantly in title picture. SWERVE! Heel!

Like Juan said, he was pretty much the same as '05 Christian, especially after the heel turn. The difference was he was given a spotlight to shine in and was shockingly booked to be believable as a main-eventer. That, and he was over as both.

The only problem with his TNA run was that they took that opportunity to make "the man who built TNA" AJ Styles look like a huge chump. It took AJ a very long time to recover from "useless lackey" stage.

I personally think the differences between the two characters is Christian Cage was used more seriously. He got to be a great heel, while still doing the funny stuff. Not to mention he was actually viewed as a top ME guy. He had an undefeated streak for a year and two title reigns(and for alot longer than 2 days). To sum it up, TNA actually used him, and in WWE they use him, but not seriously...

That's what I was thinking, kinda like when Warrior went to WCW for about 15 minutes. In WWE he was The Ultimate Warrior, in WCW he was The Warrior... who was even more bat shit crazy.

Side note, can the WWE copywrite a name like "Christian"?

They can in the context of "sports entertainment".

I watched Dark Rising and didn't regret it. I'd watch this. Even on Laserdisc. "FUCK DVD!"

Wow, I watched it and wondered how I'd ever get those two wasted hours back. Although at least this movie would have to be better. Couldn't be any worse:n:
