My PS3 just magically turned off as I was playing, and now won't spit out the disc inside..... light goes red, then flashes to green real quick, before turning yellow for a bit before going right back to red.....

I've researched the problem online and it seems like my PS3 is most likely fucked..... any way of getting the disc out though?

R.I.P. PS3 :'(

I had the same problem. Try holding the eject button as you turn it on.

I've had this happen. Check online to see if there's a shop in your area that can fix it. I got mine fixed for 60 bucks or so. If not, Sony can fix it, but it takes a bit, and costs 150 I believe.

So waterboarding suspected terrorists is torture, but doing the same to a PS3 isn't? Interesting.

IT wasn't waterboarding. It was drowning.

Waterboarding is just splashing a little water on a suspect.

Well excuse me for trying to diffuse a little of the tension in here.

Had a fat PS3 yellow light on me twice, fixed it the first time. Second time bought a slim.

If you aren't planning on sending it back to Sony, just take it apart to get the disc out.

My PS3 is dead also, but not from the YLOD. This is the 2nd time it dies installing the system update using the via internet option on the system itself. So I would recommend not updating until Sony sees the problem and fixes it since it would appear that I'm not the only person this happened to since the update was released yesterday.

I've got the disc out by flipping the power switch and holding the eject button after a coupke of tries..... I've emailed my local video game store to see what they think.... prolly just gonna buy a new one at $250..... I remember paying $400 for mine back in the day.....

I payed $900 for mine, then another $150 two years ago for a new harddrive when it crapped out. Sony sent me an email now telling me to try updating it in safe mode, then update it via usb. If that doesn't work, I won't send it in for repairs I'll just get a new slim one.
