It's that time again. Time for another edition of "Before or After". This week, we will discuss Chris Jericho. Whether he's had Jericholics, or has simply been "the best in the world at what he does", Jericho has remained consistently one of the greatest of all-time. Kinda hard to pick a point in his career that would signal a turning point, so here goes. Was Chris Jericho better before or after the "code" was broken?

That's a tough one, but I loved his heel work on RAW against Shawn Michaels so much that I might go with after. He created a lot of new depth to his character and his promos were always the highlight of RAW.

Before.
I didnt care for his "SRS" character and he was way more entertaining as Y2J.
Plus his WcW days were hilarious.

Better at all times. There is no before or after, there is just greatness.

"The Goods" at all times.

If I had to pick, I'd say Before wins, only because of the fact that it is a longer period of time.

Pretty much what Stickman and Lock Jaw said.

His best in the world stuff really cemented his legacy for me. How he came back from a two year absence like that is unheard of.

His run in WCW when he turned heel is probably my favourite thing ever. He was SO fucking entertaining.

Tough call, but I'll go with before. His heel run in WCW and everything he did from 2000-2001 is his best work.

Before. His WCW stuff, and his early WWF stuff was pretty wrestling erection worthy.

Jericholics, not to be confused with Jerichoholics.

But seriously, before. It's really not much of a debate.

Before.

He had some great feuds and moments with his 2nd return especially changing into a preachy villian-like character and his time as the mentor for Wade Barrett but he had a lot more memorable feuds and moments before his return.

Too many amazing moments he had earlier such as the feud with HBK lasting almost a whole year, his entire WCW career, first ever Undisputed champion, and probably the best debut setup of any wrestler in WWF/WWE history with the countdown clock.

umm easily before.

The better question would have been before or after he debuted in WWF/WWE

I thought of that, but for some people, it might have been just as easy. I divided it this way because I wanted to know was the "mid-card, Intercontinental or Cruiserweight Championship-holding, 'on-the-cusp'" Jericho better than the "main-eventing, World Champion, 'best in the world at what he does'" Jericho. Yeah, he may have won the Undisputed Championship before, but in that tenure, he got about as many world title matches as the after period, which the before period was considerably longer.

before...... But he's had quite the up and down career..... I believe his peak was his feud with Shawn Michaels before he left.....

Before but only for his heel WCW run, possibly the most entertaining character in wrestling history. His post-"code" WWE run was the best he's ever been while working for Vince.

This... Jericho is the best period... Didn't you hear...

I'd say after, when I got back and watch early WWE Jericho, he is quite annoying and schticky.

It would appear I'm going against the grain but his run as "The Best In The World At What I Do" is his best spell in wrestling. His feud with Michaels and his work as part of JeriShow was just outstanding. In saying that his best matches were as Y2J with Benoit and HBK.

To sum up, Jericho has always been the man.

Jericho when he got serious business as the best in the world at what he does.

I know, right?

Fuckin' HBK comes back after 4 years without missing a beat, and not only that, he was better than he was before. FUCK HIM.

Also, I vote for "Before".

before especially his debut in WWE he was such a mewling pansy he actually made Shamrock enjoyable and I wanted nothing more than for Jericho to get his ass kicked

I can't decide! It's too tough to choose between the two, Jericho's THE MAN . . . period.

I say before because I love the old school WCW stuff (ARMBAR!) and Y2J.

Either way though, Jericho is awesome.

Enough said.

I've seen a couple people mention the "year long fued with HBK" as happening before his break. That's not right is it?

Tough choice but I went with after the code. His feuds with Rey and HBK were amazing, and the serious Jericho was the best thing on TV in the time period.

He fueded with him twice, right?

Lead up to Mania 19, from Rumble of that year. And that long fued that involved Jericho smashing HBK's face through the Jeritron and punching HBK's wife.

I gathered that the latter was the "year long fued" that people were referring to. :?:
