Post pre-debut vignettes in this thread, and discuss the concept in general.

I like them, generally. It makes the person seem like a bigger deal when they eventually do show up. The only exceptions that spring to mind are Kizarny and (if you even want to count them) Johnny Curtis. Still good promos, though.

The Mr. Perfect ones weren't "debut" vignettes though, technically.

Some of my favorites (off the top of my head) include:

*Razor Ramon
*Waylon Mercy
*Carlito (Caribbean Cool)
*Goldust
*Alberto Del Rio
*Glacier (seriously)

I'm also currently enjoying the Brodus Clay ones. Hopefully, that will pan out well.

The Mr. Perfect ones weren't "debut" vignettes though, technically.

Hennig returned to the WWF in the fall of 1988 as Mr. Perfect, an arrogant braggart heel who claimed to be able to accomplish difficult tasks "perfectly." In the weeks before his debut, Hennig shot several promos (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Promo_%28professional_wrestling%29) to get his persona of being superior in athletics or anything else he did. These clips showed him hitting half-court, three-point, and no-look basketball shots, bowling a score of 300 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Perfect_game_%28bowling%29), running the table in billiards, throwing then catching his own Hail Mary football pass, sinking a long golf putt, hitting home runs and making bulls-eyes in darts. Stars of various major league sports, including Wade Boggs (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wade_Boggs), Steve Jordan (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steve_Jordan_%28American_football%29), and Mike Modano (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mike_Modano), co-starred with Hennig in these vignettes.

I see your point, however, speaking of the Mr. Perfect character, they were debut vignettes.
