Not by choice, the regular showing was sold out. 3D did nothing for me and my kids took off the glasses after a bit. Felt a little eyestrain myself.

This was my first 3D movie in quite a while. Saw some incredibly bad looking trailers before the film. Mirror, Mirror was unfunny and looked shitty. Madagascar 3 looked unfunny by kids movie standards. Phantom Menace 3D looked pretty fucking horrible, kid Vader was displayed prominently for some reason. Visuals on their own were kind of impressive, if not a little dated by this point.

I wonder if Red Letter Media will come out with a 3D review for it.

How many movies has 3D actually made a significant difference in the experience?

I hear Avatar a lot, but I thought that movie was terrible.

I have trouble seeing 3D as anything but a novelty. I don't know, I haven't seen many movies in 3D. In fact, I think the only time I felt I got my money's worth was Toy Story and Toy Story 2, and they were rather cheap anyway.

Corraline made good use of 3d but I don't understand the popularity of avatar.

Avatar the movie was terrible and the 3D did nothing to help it. I haven't seen any animated movies in 3D but I think it would work well in that format.

The depth and effects used in avatar were mindblowing. It was a true feast for the eyes. But yeah, the movie ████ed. But at the same time, I didn't care.
I hear Tintin is really good as well.
Resident Evil in 3D was prob the worst movie I have ever seen, and the 3D effects were worse.

I heard the same about the Clash of the Titans.

Maybe Wrath of the Titans will be better.

I took my gf to see it as it's her favorite movie ever, so I scored major brownie points there. Can honestly say, I don't remember the movie being so short.

To be honest, I'm a bit over the whole 3D craze and wish it'd go away. I hate having to pay $13 to see a movie in 3D. Might see Episode 1 in 3D just for the special 3D glasses AMC is giving out though.

As someone that wears glasses I am opposed to this 3d craze since my nose isn't big enough for two pair of glasses at one time. :(

Plus I stopped noticing Avatar was 3d like halfway through the movie so it didn't really add a lot to the experience for me.

Of all the movies I've seen in 3D: Beauty and the Beast, Saw 7, Transformers 3, Nightmare Before Christmas, and Jackass 3, only Transformers 3 was worth it.

I never did see Transformers 3. I kept waiting for my brother and one of my friends since we had seen the first 2 together and I didn't want to leave them out, then they went and saw it without me.

Betrayed. :(

I feel most "3D" movies I have seen were "cool" but not that big of a difference. It didn't really change my viewing experience. It was more like a cool add on. I don't think its worth the extra couple of dollars tho.

I refuse to see Phantom Menace in 3D because I refused to see it and its one-dimensional characters in 2D.

But you'll miss all the Gungans throwing blue balls at you!

Contacts? Worn them for every 3-D movie I've seen.

Yes, but now they'll be FORCED to have depth!

I can't wear contacts, I can barely hold my eyes open long enough for eye drops.

Kane Knight

Well, that would certainly put a damper on things.

Yeah, it's quite awkward when I'm at the eye doctor and the nurse is trying to apply the drops. :-\

That pun is so bad it deserves either ten straight neg reps or ten straight pos reps. I can't decide.

To dilate your eyes? My pupils are wide enough they can look in them without drops.

You know you want to pos rep me. Sure, it was awful, but it's Lucas' bastardpiece....

Yeah, they really only do it if I go to a new doctor or if it's been a couple of years since they last did it. Come to think of it the last time it was done is the time I'm talking about and that was probably 3 or 4 years ago at a doctor I hadn't been to in ages.

The only good 3D movie I've seen is Jackass 3. SAW 3D was a horrible use of 3D, Thor had okay 3D but it wasn't that much necessary, and every other gets about the same reviews.

Jackass had some cool 3D effects, anything with explosions usually has a couple of decent effects. Watched the last Harry Potter and only noticed the ash towards the end actually in 3D.
