View Full Version : What do you think of Tyson Kidd?

He's been wrestling for years, he's honed his craft, and he's even shaved his pubes off his head! So why isn't he being given a chance?! They should give him a storyline or a feud. Let him cut a damn promo in the ring. Something. Anything. He could have a really bright future in the WWE, but instead his talent is being wasted. What do you think of Tyson Kidd?

Technically sound, boring as hell. Needs something to make people give a crap other than being a foster Hart.

I like his in-ring work.

Used to have him on MSN when he was TJ Wilson. He added me when I made fun of him on "Hot Shot" Johnny Devine's forum. Then we became decent internet friends...

If they gave him regular matches on Smackdown, I think he could get somewhat over based on his ring style alone. However, he is very awkward as a character and seems uncomfortable speaking.

I greatly enjoyed him on NXT.

<font color=goldenrod>He's a good hand to have around and is great on Superstars and NXT. Unfortunately I don't see him ever amounting to anything more than enhancement work on the main shows.</font>

Think he could get over like The Brian Kendrick if given a decent gimmick.

At least he's rid of DH Smith now though.

He is going to have a good career, but not a flashy one. Alot like a modern day Lance Storm. Amazing in the ring, can make people look GREAT so he will always have a job. He doesnt rock the boat, and has good connections. I could see him ending up as a developmental trainer or agent down the line.

He needs Natalya as his mouthpiece...... and Hanso's right on in comparing him to Lance Storm.....

Pretty much what Hanso said. I think he's better than he's allowed to be on TV, though i don't think he'll ever get beyond midcard.

Excellent. Future midcard champ at the very least. Would like to see him and dibiase feud or maybe Rhodes.

I think he's pretty good in the ring but pretty bland for singles (but then again same could be said about Bryan) Is he still with Armando Estrada? I think he was much better as a tag team compeditor. Him and Estrada would be a good heel tag team

Lock Jaw

Estrada only managed him for one week. In the period where he seemed to have a different manager every week on Superstars.

He's a Hart so naturally I'm a fan to start with. From what little I've seen of him I liked him, I thought they were finally going to start something with him the week he had Michael Hayes as manager, but at this point I don't think he will ever get much of a chance to go far. The tag team/fued with DH was probably his only shot and that just fizzled out. Like someone said earlier he will probably have a job for a long time just for his association with the Hart's and Natalya, but anything above maybe another run with the tag titles or IC/US title isn't likely to happen.

I think he's very talented. He's the kind of guy that can make people look good. That Lance Storm comparison was fair. Yeah, he probably won't be a "top guy," but that doesn't matter. Hell, as much as I liked Owen Hart and thought he was talented, I don't think he would have been WWF Champion either.

How is he a Hart? He just trained in a certain area. You're saying Edge, Jericho, Pillman, and Benoit are Harts.

Juan

He's been around the Hart family since he was 10 years old. He's an adopted Hart

Does that make me Catholic for having a second family who is Catholic?

Juan
01-21-2012, 11:03 PM
I dunno, I think religious beliefs are a bit different.

He went to school with Teddy Hart and has been in that family for around 21 years. He's been dating Natalya for about 12 years, was Harry Smith's roommate for a couple of years and has been living with Natalya for around 5 years now. He's as a close to a Hart as you can get without actually being one.

Juan

My point is that it's more than "training in a certain area"

While Juan does bring up a great point about being raised with them, allow me to change my argument a bit...

He has great training and life experience from the Hart family. No one (not even myself) can deny how close he is to the Hart Family. Juan is right. He's as close as you can get without being one... However, he's not really a Hart. We've all seen videos of one animal taking in baby animal of a different species in as their own (like a dog taking in a kitten, etc etc) but that doesn't change what the baby is.
Tyson Kidd (until he puts a ring on Natalya's finger) will not be a Hart.

I just realized I never put my two cent into how I feel about Tyson Kidd, aside from saying he's not a Hart.

He's a good wrestler, and I really want to see him excel. However, due to current booking, he's being held down pretty hardcore. If he applies his free time correctly he could be the Canadian Zack Ryder. He could play up his ties to the Hart family, start his own YouTube show like Ryder, feature Bret in a few of them, and then the fans will chant "We Want Tyson".
The kid has the potential, but right now it looks like he's not trying to get noticed.

He should wear a "Job Squad" T-shirt and carry a doll head to the ring

He should do what Hunico did, find a stereotypical bodyguard. What would be the Canadian equivelent of Camacho? Come out riding a moose with the Goon or the Mountie?

Providence Peep's link is a good read. Didn't know that Kidd's 31, or that he's been with the Harts since he was 10 years old (or younger).

I love his in-ring work. That being said, i think he does have the goods to take it to the next level. Haven't heard a promo from him, so i really don't know how comfortable he is on the stick. He doesn't ooze with charimsa tho, but has shown flashes.

IMO, he deserves better.

I wish they still did Money in the Bank at Wrestlemania, so the mid card guys could get in. He could really steal the show. Not saying he needs a win, but like SHelton Benjamin, just having a great show in a big match can help get you going again.

When he was cycling through different managers on Superstars and was feuding with Yoshi Tatsu on NXT, I thought a logical conclusion of the angles would have been for Byron Saxton to come in and help out Tyson Kidd. I mean, Saxton hated Yoshi as a Pro, and Kidd hated Yoshi -- plus Kidd was looking to get a good talker on his side. A Kidd/Saxton tag team could have even been really good.

Kidd's one of the absolute best in the ring, but on the mic, while he's not a terrible talker -- he's just not captivating. The dude could really use a presence at his side -- whether it's Bret Hart, Byron Saxton or William Regal. Just someone that can say "Kidd is this fucking good, and he'll show it to you right now." Also, it needs to be a time when there is no one important holding a mid-card title. Right now, Cody Rhodes is doing a brilliant job as Intercontinental Champion, so Kidd getting a push towards the mid-card just doesn't seem right.

Kidd should get into a feud with Ted DiBiase, I think. Either that or team with him. DiBiase seems to be struggling just as much as a face as Kidd seems to be as a heel. It's nothing to do with talent -- it's just timing. But right now there is desperate demand for a babyface tag team. The story can be that the Harts used to hang out with the DiBiases when they were younger, and they two guys generally like each other. Ted can be the rich playboy, and Kidd can be all awkward and no-nonsense.
