Awesome.

They had better open the movie with this classic Bond opening. Since he truly is 007 now.

All of the other Daniel Craig Bond movies would be pretty good if they weren't so crap.

Can't stand Daniel Craig, just think he's such a dull, unconvincing and shite actor, and ever since he's been playing Bond, I've not enjoyed any of the movies (although, the last Brosnan one with Halle Berry was pretty naff, too).

I thought he did a great job in Casino Royale considering his Bond is meant to be a reboot and more similar to Timothy Dalton's in style and fighting. Also made sense considering Casino Royale is supposed to be the very first Bond storyline in terms of chronology from the books.

Quantum of Solace was also decent but didn't like the storyline as much as Casino Royale.

Skyfall might be the first Bond film to not be based on a Bond book besides a few references which turns out to be revolving on Bond "dying" and the villain.

well to be honest, I couldn't connect with any of the other Bond films before Craig took over.

I own Casino Royale and Quantam of Solace. Friggin love watching these movies.

Casino Royale is one of the best films of the last 10 years or so, not just in the Bond series. Quantum was ok, but was always going to struggle following on from it. Looking forward to seeing this.

Dalton's Bond was the closest thing to the books out there. I like Craig's edgy directions to Bond, but I feel that the films he's done have been about getting him over as "his own Bond". Like, there was no real story that got me engrossed.

The best way I can put it is that when I watch the Bourne films, within that trilogy I gave a fuck more about the plot (which was really gripping for me in a spy-fi way) and also the character development and side characters were worth their screen time. With the last 6 Bond films, they don't seem so "thought" about.

Not everyone will agree, but I just feel that Casino Royale was a damn fine outing for Craig and a good film, but I really wanted more from QoS and although he's not as shit or laughable as the terrible Elliot Carver, Dominic Greene could of been more "believable". It was almost like the plot of Die Another Day in some ways.

One good factor for me in Skyfall will be seeing Q back. As he's a lot younger (and to give credit, Ben is an amazing actor as well) I'm thinking there is more on the cards for him in the future again. I hope to have a couple more "stupid comedy moments", some outrageousness (funny how Bond has been in space when you think about it, yet it's totally fucking unbelievable when you watch what he's up to in Craig's guise).

Hmmm....

I'm a huge Bond nerd (outside of Die Another Day and Quantum of Solace).

The only thing that worries me about this film is Adele doing the Bond theme. I can't stand Adele.

Either Live and Let Die or Goldfinger, watched a tonne of the Connery / Moore Bond films as a kid, never really saw much of Dalton's films. Quite liked Pierce Brosnan in the role though.

First one I saw was probably Goldeneye. Hadn't seen a lot of the older ones, until I recently decided to start making my way through them. Last one I saw was Moonraker. I'd say the only one up to that point that I did not enjoy was "Live and Let Die".

Probably either of the Dalton films or "A View to a Kill" with Moore. Never saw any Bond film from start to finish until Goldeneye though.

As a kid I just thought they were regular action/spy films and not as part of an actual series like the Rambo series until Goldeneye.

mine was Goldeneye.

I'd never watched an entire Bond film before that. Pierce Brosnan was and is still my favorite Bond because of Goldeneye.

hell I break out the old N64 videogame once every few months.

I've since acquired several of the films over the years.

My favorites are probably (in no particular order): From Russia With Love, Goldfinger, The Spy Who Loved Me, License to Kill and Goldeneye

The odd thing about LTK is that I really don't like Timothy Dalton at all as Bond but LTK is one of my favorite Bond films.

Over in the UK, early reviews are streaming out (the movie opens there before the states) and so far looks like this is a kickass James Bond movie.

Telegraph gave it 4/5, Mirror gave it 5/5, the Sun loved it. Hey U Guys gave it 4/5.

Twitter reax:

Graham Norton @grahnort
Bond is back!!! Skyfall is perfection!!!!!

Vassos Alexander @VassosA
The new Bond film is tense, thrilling, tremendous. Funny in places too. Bond back on form #skyfall

James Mullinger @jamesmullinger
Well, Sam Mendes may have created the best James Bond film ever. After all the photocalls & hype, Skyfall somehow exceeds all expectations.

James Day @James_Day_Metro
In case you’re wondering the new Bond movie #Skyfall is really quite superb

James Robertson @_JamesR
Just watched James Bond: Skyfall. IT’S F’IN AWESOME.

Hari Patience @Hari_P
Was just one of the first 1600 people to see #skyfall. Does not disappoint. Can’t reveal much due to spoilers but 10x better than QofS
#skyfall did actually joss a few of my personal canon bits about Bond. But I can’t tell you what as there’s #spoilers

Nihal A @TherealNihal
Bk to an old school Bond film, Bardem is brilliant. References to old school Bond but felt a little too long #skyfall #makeupyrownmind

Rupert Bhatia @alfredooo
So the new bond film is different… big change of direction. quite good though.

Olivia Osborne @livsosborne
Just seen #skyfall brilliant. Bond is back

Louise Pepper @loupepper
Just saw #Skyfall LOVED IT. Don’t read any spoilers or reviews just GO

Niall Doherty @NiallMDoherty
Skyfall was amazing. Best film I’ve seen this year (yes, even better than TDKR) and poss my new favourite Bond film.

Becky Sunshine @Becky_Sunshine
#Skyfall is totally bloody brilliant. There it is. Not going to spoil any surprises, but def worth seeing!

Kate Muir@muirkate

I just gave SKYFALL five stars in The Times. A return to classic form and a great British bulldog of a movie. Plus the Aston Martin DB5...

boydhilton@boydhilton

Skyfall reminds me of The Dark Knight Rises. It takes time to deepen the characters & let us enjoy them, in the middle of all the action

Time Out Film@TimeOutFilm

#Skyfall. Bold. Good-looking. Craig is in his element. Mendes atones for sins of Quantum with gorgeous photography, story and room to think.

Kate Muir@muirkate

Ben Whishaw steals the scene as Q, geek chic in his specs, cardie and anorak. #SKYFALL

Phil Williams@PhilWilliams

Skyfall is immense. You'll love it. Up there with your favourite Bond film for sure. Class. #givingnothingaway

sandy cheema@sandycheems

I'm not the biggest Bond fan but that was bloody awesome. Daniel Craig is good but Javier Bardem is the man! #Skyfall

Nick Clark@MrNickClark

Well I loved that. Cast and direction strong & Bardem aces it as the baddie. Easy to overlook a few wrinkles in the script. #skyfall

60secmovies@60secmovies

Don't give too much away, said @SonyPictures before tonight's screening. I can probably give away that #Skyfall is the best Bond in decades.

Sam Ashurst@samashurst

#Skyfall, then. Very Nolan. Very Dark Knight. Very cool. Best Bond since GoldenEye (1995). Can Sam Mendes make the next 23 please?

So I went and saw this midnight showing and I have to say just a amazing movie. I would have to say the best bond move I have ever seen, and I have seen them all. Daniel Craig such a amazing actor . 5/5 for this movie.

Also have to give props to Adele for the opening song, as I have never heard any of her music before, she has a amazing voice and the song that she wrote and performed actually does great justice to this movie

I've seen a lot of Bond movies, but I'm far from an expert. I caught a few of the references to older movies, but I'm sure I missed a ton more:

- Q's "exploding pen" joke was a GoldenEye reference
- The Aston-Martin
- The Walther PPK

Plus, all the Bond trademarks ("Bond. James Bond" and the bartender shaking his martini)

What else was there?

Also, I LOVED Skyfall. Fantastic movie, and my new favorite Bond. Plus, Adele's theme shoots right up there with Live And Let Die and The World Is Not Enough as my favorite Bond theme songs.
