I've decided to go through a semi-comprehensive chronological list of films released between January 1990 and December 1999. I'm using the following as my source:
http://www.the-numbers.com/movies/index1990.php

These are not going to be comprehensive reviews and if I liked the film as a child and have not seen it again in adulthood it stays as "like".

Feel free to join me as I haven't seen a lot of these films. Will start with:

January, 1 Brain Dead (http://www.the-numbers.com/movies/1990/0BDEA.php) - $1,627,955 -
<iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/BnCfUpw-i7A" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>Saw this film in 2010, it was originally released as Brain Dead, but many of you will know it as Dead Alive. I liked it.

January, 12 Leatherface: Texas Chainsaw Massacre III (http://www.the-numbers.com/movies/1990/0TCM3.php) New Line - $5,697,588
<iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/nY7n9IKerag" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Insane film. All I remember is that it wasn't very good.

January, 12 Ski Patrol (http://www.the-numbers.com/movies/1990/0SKPA.php) - $8,000,000
<iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/0yikMEiBgu0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Not as funny as the trailer would suggest. Take that as you will.

January, 19 Tremors (http://www.the-numbers.com/movies/1990/0TRMR.php) Universal $10,000,000 $16,667,084
<iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/liJfZvXdiTE" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
First time I saw this film was on basic cable. Loved the fuck out of it. All the sequels sucked. Too bad.

I'm currently on a similar kick at the minute as I'm going through all the films on the top 250 list on imdb. Started it because I was bored, checked the list and realised there was a whole bunch that I hadn't seen, and so decided I'd watch all of them. Trying to watch like one a day, not always possible for whatever reason, but I'm currently on 96/250 having started on something like 62/250. I was going to make a thread like this and give little reviews on them all but then I just never got round to it.

Feel free to post any of the 90s reviews in here, Iggy. It should be a whole lot of fun.

Well I watched Twelve Monkeys last night. I enjoyed it because I generally like anything involving time travel, but it didn't exactly "light my fire" in terms of groundbreaking storytelling. Bruce Willis was kinda just okay, Brad Pitt was at his comedic best though.

You did say brief reviews, right?

I loved the soundtrack of Twelve Monkeys more than anything. Yeah, but don't let me limit you with that. The only hard rule here is it has to be a 90s movie.

Out of all the films from the 1990s, I think Dumb and Dumber was the most watched comedy I ever saw and the Bond films for action stuff not involving Schwarzenegger.

February, 9 Hard To Kill (http://www.the-numbers.com/movies/1990/0HRDT.php) Warner Bros. - $47,381,386

As a kid I loved B-movies and trashy action films. Used to watch a ton of Chuck Norris films too, and so the Joe Bob in me will always enjoy a film like Hard to Kill in spite of its extreme datedness. Take that to the bank!

Waldorf and Statler are the two old guys. But anyway I'm just gonna focus on 1999 bc in my opinion that was the best year in movies in my lifetime.

Fight Club 10/10-one of my favorite films of all time. Love the nihilist and anti consumerism tones of the film and it had Meatloaf with bitchtits.

American Beauty-9.5/10-Lester doesn't give a fuck anymore and he almost fucks his kids friend.

Magnolia-9/10-Tom Cruise shoulda won an Oscar for this.

Office Space-10/10 I think anyone that has worked in a soul crushing office can relate.

American Pie-7/10 Shannon Elizabeth.

Eyes Wide Shut-7/10 more like Pants Around Ankles

Furious Beardsley

I was pretty obsessed with this movie as a kid. It was pretty unique, as a lot of 90s movies were, in that it tried to create empathy with the "monsters". I haven't seen the film in a long time (over a decade), I don't know how it'd hold up. I keep waiting for it to roll out on Netflix.
