I am very saddened to report the passing of one of professional wrestling's most beloved competitors, Red Bastien. After suffering from Alzheimer's disease, Red went peacefully. His wrestling career was long and storied. He was a real legend. Everywhere he went in the world he was a champion, a night after night performer who exemplified "old school." More importantly, the Red Bastien legacy is his character, his friendliness, his compassion and his integrity. No one said a bad word about him; his colleagues revered him. The Cauliflower Alley Club gives out an annual "Red Bastien Friendship Award" to deserving people, not actually professionally involved with wrestling, who have been loyal and committed to the business. Red Bastien was a friend, a mentor and a role model for so many wrestlers over the years. He will be sorely, sorely missed.

several others are confirming it as well.

Red was definitely one of the greats. Very acrobatic in the ring.

He is my 82nd fav rassler of all time Seth. My dad used to take me to the Tampa Armory back in the 60s to see him. Oh wait, you're right. Sucks that he's dead but really who cares? It's not like Pete Gas died. That would be truly tragic.

Yeah, Rick and Red did. I'm just guessing with Warrior it went in one ear and out the other.
