Saturday Morning Slam
* Alex Riley defeated Jinder Mahal in roughly 5 minutes. Mahal was in control for most of the match until Riley rolled him up for the pin.
Josh Matthews has just come out to the announce desk. Santino has come out in his street clothes and is going to be doing color commentary with Matthews.
* Kofi Kingston defeated Heath Slater. Pretty solid match with lots of arms drags and high flying moves from Kofi. Crowd is hot for Kofi and Slater is getting a lot of heat. Kofi wins with the flying body press off the top rope.
They are switching the set for Superstars.

WWE Superstars

The Usos defeated Michael McGillicutty and Johnny Curtis. Curtis has a new look.

Alex Riley defeated Drew McIntyre. Sloppy match, Riley wins with a version of Roll of the Dice.

* Damien Sandow defeated Justin Gabriel. Sandow got a lot of heat and was very verbal about not wanting Gabriel to put his filthy hands on him. Sandow ducked out of Gabriel's splash and won the match with his finisher.

Smackdown

We open SmackDown with a recap of last week and the beat down on Shemaeus by Alberto Del Rio. Del rio is out to start the show and is demanding that he get his championship match back at SummerSlam.

Booker T (http://www.wrestlinginc.com/wi/profiles/56/booker-t/) is out to confront Del Rio. Booker T says that a man does not dress goons up in cop suits and attack one man. Chris Jericho (http://www.wrestlinginc.com/wi/profiles/46/chris-jericho/) comes out and goes off on Del Rio and calls him a yapping dog. Jericho starts speaking Spanish and says that Del Rio's breath smells like dog s--t in Spanish. Yes, he's speaking in Spanish. Jericho says that he wants to take Del Rio's spot at SummerSlam. The main event tonight is set, and it will be Jericho vs. Del Rio. Booker T said Sheamus (http://www.wrestlinginc.com/wi/profiles/186/sheamus/) will not wrestle at SummerSlam.

Rey Mysterio (http://www.wrestlinginc.com/wi/profiles/54/rey-mysterio/) and Sin Cara vs. The Miz (http://www.wrestlinginc.com/wi/profiles/182/the-miz/) and Cody Rhodes. Rey hits the 619 while Cody is trying to take of Sin Cara's mask and gets the win after the top rop dive. After the match, Mysterio hit the Miz with a 619 after Miz tried to sneak attack him. Heck of a match, Rey and Sin Cara are amazing together.

Randy Orton (http://www.wrestlinginc.com/wi/profiles/59/randy-orton/) vs. Daniel Bryan is announced for later tonight.

Curt Hawkins and Tyler Reks beat two jobbers. Hawkins and Reks are doing some new stipper "Magic Mike" dance gimmick now.

William Regal is backstage telling Eve how powerful he was when he was the GM. Workers then came up to Regal and asked him to take the trash out.

Teddy Long is out at the announce booth to commentate during the Divas match between Eve and Kaitlyn. Eve defeated Kaitlyn to become Booker T's new assistant. Short, sloppy match.

Randy Orton defeated Daniel Bryan. Kane (http://www.wrestlinginc.com/wi/profiles/68/kane/) faked his entrance to distract Bryan, and Orton nailed him with an RKO to get the pin.

Daniel Bryan is staying in the ring with the mic screaming "No No!," and says he won't leave until the people stop chanting "YES!" Triple H (http://www.wrestlinginc.com/wi/profiles/45/triple-h/) comes out and pedigrees him. This likely won't make the air.

It's announced that WWE (http://www.wrestlinginc.com/wi/news/wwe-news/) will return to Austin for a live event on January 11th. The pre-sale password is AUSCENA.

Santino comes out for color commentary. Antonio Cesaro defeated Zack Ryder in less than a minute. After the match, Santino hit Cesaro. that's what you get for speaking up Zack

Alberto Del Rio vs. Chris Jericho is up next. Del Rio is out first. Jericho is coming out and is attacked by Ziggler, who screams to Jericho to not overlook him. The match has started, looks like Jericho is going to wrestle hurt. Del Rio dominated the majority of the match by attacking Jericho's injured ribs. Ziggler interfered twice, allowing Del Rio to win with the Shining Wizard kick.
After the match, Ziggler and Del Rio double team Jericho until Sheamus makes the save. Del Rio attacks Sheamus, but Sheamus makes a comeback and Del Rio escapes through the crowd. Booker T comes out to address the situation. Booker tells Sheamus that he should not be there. Sheamus demands that his rematch with Del Rio get re-instated. Booker originally says "no," but Sheamus keeps pleading. After Sheamus said "please" like three times, Booker relented and said that the match is back on for SummerSlam.

After the cameras stopped rolling, Del Rio sneaks back up on Sheamus. Sheamus and Del Rio fight into the crowd and Sheamus gets the upper hand. Sheamus then stood victorious as Del Rio ran away again.

In the dark match, John Cena (http://www.wrestlinginc.com/wi/profiles/23/john-cena/) defeated The Big Show (http://www.wrestlinginc.com/wi/profiles/72/big-show/) with the AA.

Regal gives better, put him back in the commentary booth on Smackdown over Cole, him or Striker but at least he was on Smackdown.

Yeah, but seriously. This show seems like another piece of crap they're just throwing out there.

I do want to see Sin Cara and Rey tag together though.

Not gonna bother taping this garbage. WWE is barely watchable anymore.

THAT was random. This doesn't sound like a remarkably bad Smackdown or anything.

... Of course, there's no Ryback.

Regal is horrible on commentary. All he does is stumble and stammer his words and draw awkward pauses.

I've just finished watching SmackDown and it was a decent one this week. I enjoyed the Orton/Bryan match and also the Eve/Kaitlyn match, but mostly just because Kaitlyn was actually having a match, and I wouldn't have called it a "sloppy match" though, but I think it's a good thing Eve won.

With Eve as Booker T's assistant, it means Eve could possibly use her position to slowly turn face again, maybe. Also, it means more Kaitlyn matches and for all you Eve lovers, which I think is pretty much everyone, we'll be back to seeing Eve sporting the "secretary look" like she did when she was Executive Administrator for Laurinaitis. So it's all good. :y:

Zigglers attack on Jericho was great and I'm really looking forward to the match on Sunday. It should be a good one.

Hawkins & Reks had me wondering when they first came out to no music. I didn't know what they were up to, but then when I saw Hawkins wearing a red sleeveless shirt, I immediately thought of The Mountie. Then the music started and I was really surprised and well, this pretty much sums up what I was like....

To be honest, my instant feelings about it are not good. I'm not a fan at the moment and I really don't know why they've given Hawkins & Reks this stripper gimmick, but I'm sure it'll be explained next week. So I'll most likely form a better opinion then. Instantly judging a gimmick when it's debuted doesn't work, so I'll see if it grows on me and if the explanation is a good one. Also, is it just me or did their attires remind anyone else of Meat's "underwear" attire, back in the day?

Anyway, I am happy though that Hawkins had a match and that he won. :y:

lol. Reks and Hawkins. They had two guys that were just floundering around the bottom of the card going absolutely nowhere and gave them some kind of identity and let them win a squash match. What's not to like?

I really couldn't tell on Raw when Heyman was saying "Oh my God, you broke his arm!" if he was going for sarcastic concern or genuine concern over a possible lawsuit/repercussions over it.

WWE has actually put some effort into making the Sheamus vs Del Rio feud interesting over the last 2 weeks. I like it.

<font color=goldenrod>I wonder if Reks and Hawkins will continue this schtick into next week...or if they'll just have ridiculous new gimmicks every week with no explanation offered. Kinda like when Tyson Kidd debuted a brand new manager each week on Superstars last year.</font>

What's hard to get about Reks and Hawkins? Last week Booker told them to make an impact/do something entertaining or something along those lines, and this is what they've come up with for this week. Cole already explained that on commentary.

I was thinking about that possibility last night. I think that would be a good gimmick where they just try a variety of gimmicks until one just "clicks" for them.

If the stripper gimmick stays, then I'm intrigued to hear what the explination will be for it, as it's such a sudden and random change for a team, to go from barely appearing on TV and losing when they do, to suddenly becoming gyrating strippers and winning matches.

Cool King

Though if they do keep the gyrating strippers gimmick, then I wouldn't mind seeing them introduce Val Venis as their manager. :shifty:

Reks and Hawkins looked very uncomfortable dancing before their match....which made it that much more great. That was hilarious.

Some guy was at the tapings and recorded pretty much everything, including Daniel Bryan receiving a Pedigree and even the dark match between Cena and Big Show. Also, for some reason, the music that Hawkins & Reks danced to was dubbed on the broadcast version.

That's what I really enjoyed about it. If they were comfortable with the dancing, it'd be that same old gimmick we've seen with The Heart Throbs, The Dicks, etc. Reks & Hawkins (particularly Hawkins) looking uncomfortable as they gyrated and wore ill-advised attire raises the gimmick from being "two guys who act like strippers" into "two guys who detest acting like strippers, but are doing so to get noticed."

Last week, Reks & Hawkins were speaking and Hawkins was referencing Reks' previous job in the "surf shop," while Reks said something like "No, I mean my other old job." It made me think if the story is going to be that Reks used to be a male stripper and that was their inspiration for the gimmick.

I'm not against these guys coming out each week on SmackDown trying something new. Let them come out to "Real Man's Man" as lumberjacks one week, and then as surfies the next. As a tag team cycling through gimmicks to get themselves attention, they could turn face pretty quickly. They could get people to Tout their suggestions for what they do next week.

I could not believe they did that for Bryan, actually. He looked great getting Orton in The "No!" Lock before Kane came out to throw Bryan off his game. With Orton having two strikes against his name, I'm totally for him making guys look good. I'd love to see Ziggler vs. Orton, actually.
