View Full Version : The whole Brogue Kick thing

Even in kayfabe this shit is stupid. Wrestlers or rather 'Superstars' are supposedly under contract to go bell to bell and deal with the results. How is it a particapants fault if somene runs in and accidently gets KO'd for being somewhere he should not have been.

remember that time that Punk did a hurricarana from the top rope and landed on his head. It was only a few weeks ago so I bet you remember it.

That move ended the "career" of Thumbtack Jack.

Is'nt a closed fist suppose to be illegal yet it's Big Show finisher? Thumbtack Jack? That man is a fool. He was not protecting himself by not putting out his hands to help him turn over. It was not a Hayabusa incident where it was the unluck of the draw and he's a dumbass for not doing so.

It is a storyline to evolve his character..........

If you want to look at it in detail, lets compare this with the NFL. In the NFL players are pair to tackle/hit the opposing players. But for safety reasons the players are not allowed to take their shoulder and ram it into someones head. If the Brogue Kick is deemed a safety hassard then it will be eliminated. That is why there is an investigation on the move.

This is going to end with a stipulation that if Sheamus uses the Brogue Kick in his match with Alberto, he automatically loses the championship. He will use it when the referee doesn't see and win. However, the next Smackdown, Booker will have no choice but to strip him of the title and present it to Alberto. Alberto will be champ for a few minutes, but there will promptly be a rematch, and Sheamus will win it back.

I think it's really stupid.

Out of all the moves that are so "deadly" to ban...The Brogue Kick?

The Kimura Lock is cool...but not that damn, evil Brogue Kick!

It's very corny of them to do this.

I don't understand why Sheamus doesn't counter it with a case about Del Rio's armlock. It places people's arms in unusual positions, and did take Rey Mysterio "out of action" for a year or something.

Of course, I know the reality, is they don't do it coz it's cheap heel tactics. But y'know what I mean.

Some of you take WWE way to seriously. They put out a sketch with Sheamus, Ricardo and Otunga, in a small court session without a fucking judge for Christ's sake. It was just meant to be retarded and funny... it was at least retarded, funny from time to time, if not for hearing Vince McMahon telling the writers "GET THE JEWS ON THIS ONE I FUCKING HATE LAWYERS, FUCKING JEWS"...

If your Lipshitz what does your arse do?

I'm kind of surprised that they haven't continued the ban one step further, taking the cross arm breaker away from ADR. I kind of expected that to be the next step but who knows.

Its just a quick way to make a move seem even more dangerous than normal considering Sheamus has used the moved for a long while and only now its ban worthy.

Its also like when Edge got his spear banned because suddenly it became too dangerous out of nowhere one day or Nash's Jacknife powerbomb being banned for a while in WCW.

:y: Be better also if Sheamus was able to transition into the move like Malenko did with the double under hook powerbomb.

Because then Del Rio would bitch that his armbreaker couldn't be used as a submission move, yet Sheamus is allowed to use the Clover Leaf, I would imagine.

#1-norm-fan
09-12-2012, 01:49 PM
The whole point is to have the face champion backed into a corner by banning his finisher. Why would they also ban Del Rio's move? That would just make them even. At that point, there would be no reason to have banned any moves.

This. I love Sheamus using the Texas Cloverleaf. I just hope they don't give it a stupid name. Plus, I like the Irish Curse as a lead-in to the move just fine.

I originally thought this angle was stupid, but it really works from the point of making it seem unfair for Sheamus to defend his title under such conditions, and it will make him seem more resilient and versatile when he beats Del Rio with the Texas Cloverleaf. Del Rio will have no leg to stand on and Booker T will then rule the Brogue Kick legal -- precursing Sheamus knocking Del Rio out with the move to end the feud.

Mr. Nerfect

Sheamus is having such a great run as World Heavyweight Champion, by the way. The story of CM Punk's long reign has allowed Sheamus' quite lengthy reign to slip past the radar. I'm thinking that we may get Sheamus vs. Randy Orton at Hell in a Cell, and that will be where Dolph cashes in, but I could see Sheamus winning the belt back before long, and then Ziggler winning the Royal Rumble after firing Vickie Guerrero and taking on Ric Flair as a manager for a big WrestleMania match against Sheamus.
