View Full Version : Has anyone ever completed the WWE Triple Crown+1

Rhaps

Started thinking last night about the WWE titles.

We've had plenty Triple Crown winners (WWE, IC, tag) by now

We've had people like CM Punk (WWE, World, tag)

Without guessing, we've probably also had a couple of IC, US, one other

But has anyone ever completed the whole deal and won (at various points, not all the same time) the WWE title, World Heavyweight title, IC, US and tag?

I think Big Show has too

Before his tenure with WWE began, he won the WCW World Heavyweight Title twice and the tag team titles twice.

Then he moved to WWE where I am fairly sure he has won

WWE Title
World Heavyweight Title
ECW Heavyweight title
Intercontinental Title
US Title
Hardcore Title
Tag Team Titles

Punk also had the ECW and IC titles. All he has missed is the US title.

Orton won WWE, World, IC and Tag.

Big Show has won Every title.

Alot of guys are close. Jericho never won the US title. Cena never won the IC. But both have held WWE, WOrld, Tag and either US or IC

I thought about Punk, but then I couldn't remember him holding the IC belt.

Never thought about Big Show though.

But Sheamus won KOTR and The Royal Rumble, I think only Stone Cold, Lesnar and Hitman can say that.

Not sure. I remember when HBK won the European title from Bulldog (I was there that night, the crowd were LIVID), they started to refer to Michaels as "The First Grand Slam Winner" but it's not something I've heard in modern WWE.

Probably is though.

Yeah maybe they don't acknowledge it on TV but I'm pretty sure that is what they call it.

Also isn't Show the only guy to have every major World Title? Unrelated... but maybe not?

WWE,ECW,WCW?

Also add King of the Ring, Royal Rumble and Money in the bank to the list of accomplishments. He also was the co-hardcore champion because Mick Foley said so. When he won the IC Championship in 2004 he also became the Hardcore Champion and European Champion since they were unified together.

Rey I think won all titles in the WWE modern era (except ECW) including the Cruiser-weight.

Edit: Nope never won the US title

Just a reminder- Titles mean nothing.

Wrong. They aren't the absolute measuring stick of how great you are, and the meaning changes over time, but having numerous titles to your name indicates that the promotion you work for has faith in you and that you're recognized as someone of value. Now granted, there is no essential intrinsic value to having a strap around your waist; I doubt many people are going to assign greatness to anyone who held the WWF Light Heavyweight title simply on the basis of having worn it, or that Hornswoggle is as great a wrestler as Eddie Gurrerro or Chris Jericho by virtue of having won the Cruiserweight title. Titles do have meaning, some more than others, and some do have none, but to make a blanket statement that titles mean nothing is to agree with Vince Russo that a belt is just a prop and that it doesn't matter if it's held by Ric Flair or David Arquette.

Which belts does this include?

Three singles championship & tag team championship.

For example:

HBK: WWF Champion (primary), Intercontinental Champion (secondary) , European Champion (tertiary) , Tag Team Champion

According to the wiki page for it.... only the Euro/Hardcore titles apply to the Grand Slam, so for example John Cena cannot be a Grand Slam winner.

It should also be noted that in promotions other than WWE, if the promotion has 4 titles or less and a wrestler wins them all they are considered a Grand Slam winner of that promotion.

that too.

And since the WWE has no official 3rd tier title anymore.... it should include winning the US as a way to pull off the Grand Slam.

I imagine it would "officially" be a considered primary championship by WWE.

CM Punk has won the WWE Championship, World Heavyweight Championship, ECW Championship, World Tag Team Championship and the Intercontinental Championship.

Rey Mysterio has won the WWE Championship, World Heavyweight Championship. WWE Tag Team Championship, Intercontinental Championship and the Cruiserweight Championship. He needs to win the United States Championship.

But that would not give Mysterio the Grand Slam based on its current criteria... because the US & IC are considered equal belts.... WWE would have to re organize the official "Grand Slam" for it to happen. Which they should.

Mr. Nerfect

Why would inactive championships that no one can win still count towards any sort of Grand Slam? Back when there was a WWE Title, IC Title, Euro Title and Tag Team Title, it made sense to refer to them as a "Grand Slam." Now there is a WWE Title, World Heavyweight Title, IC Title, US Title and Tag Team Title. That should be the Grand Slam by current standards.

I had realised Edge and Big Show had done it, but for some reason never put it together that Angle had obviously done it too. Good for him. That makes the three of them the only ones so far. There are quite a few wrestlers who are only a US Title away from being able to put themselves on that list -- Triple H, Chris Jericho, Kane, Randy Orton, CM Punk and Rey Mysterio. If The Miz ever wins the World Heavyweight Title, he will have actually achieved that rare honor. If Kofi Kingston ever becomes a main event player and wins both the WWE and World Heavyweight Champions, he can add his name to the list. Christian, despite having held the now inactive World Tag Team Championship nine times, has never been a WWE Tag Team Champion. If he wins that and the US Title, he'll be a Grand Slam Champion like his former partner, Edge. It should also be noted that Santino Marella has the same bases covered as Kofi Kingston -- meaning that if something happens and Santino Marella becomes a legit main eventer -- he will qualify as a Grand Slam Champion.

Edge has also won the King of the Ring, Money in the Bank and the Royal Rumble. Maybe since the King of the Ring tournament hasn't been held for almost three years now and the accomplishment isn't even mentioned in association with the guys who have won it, it shouldn't be counted in any sort of "Golden Slam" list of achievements. Some might suggest that winning the main event of WrestleMania could be listed in there, which would actually not include Edge either, since his only main event was losing to The Undertaker. If we want to just count the Royal Rumble and Money in the Bank as "Golden Slam" achievements (things that any Superstar could realistically win during their career), John Cena is really the only guy that has ticked them both off besides Edge. Punk and Miz are Royal Rumble wins away while Rey is a Money in the Bank win away, which aren't the most unrealistic possibilities for those men to achieve. Daniel Bryan has won Money in the Bank and if his stock rises, he could win a Royal Rumble, but he hasn't been Intercontinental Champion or WWE Champion either.
