View Full Version : I kind of want to see a Triple H vs. Alberto Del Rio feud

I'm not sure why, but I feel these two would match up really well together, be able to tell a fantastic story (both are fantastic at that in the ring) and just generally have an awesome feud.

At TLC, have Kofi Kingston being interviewed backstage by "Mean" Gene Okerlund (really would be Matt Striker or Josh Mathews, but a random Mean Gene appearance would be awesome). Kofi responds to the allegations that Wade Barrett has an "answer" for everything he does by saying that it seemed that way at first, but he's managed to kick Barrett in the head a few times since then, and that's all it takes for the Wildcat to pick up a victory.

Alberto Del Rio walks into frame and tells Kofi to relax. On SmackDown, Kofi got the biggest win of his career by upsetting Alberto Del Rio, and that it wasn't his IC Title victory that he should define as a "career moment," but that win over a two-time WWE Champion. The Miz appears on the scene. "Really? Really?" The Miz asserts that he headlined a WrestleMania, and that Kofi beating him was a huge moment. Del Rio and The Miz agree to have a match later that night.

In that match, Del Rio predictably controls of the pace of the match, and he works over the arm and shoulder to set up for the Cross Armbreaker. Eventually, The Miz makes a comeback and looks for the Skull-Crushing Finale, but Del Rio rolls through and into the Armbreaker. The Miz, however, rolls into it and manages to hold Del Rio's shoulders to the mat long enough to get the three and the victory. The Miz retreats to the back as Del Rio is left furious in the ring. He argues with the referee for a bit, implying that he got a shoulder up (maybe Del Rio could even have a point here, with it merely being a case of the referee being out of position). Del Rio, in a rage, grabs the referee down into a Cross Armbreaker and pulls the referee's shoulder out.

On RAW, Mr. McMahon addresses many things, and one of those is the unprofessional conduct of Mr. Alberto Del Rio, and he announces that punishments will be coming for Del Rio. Out comes Alberto, with a serious look on his face. Del Rio gets in the ring and asks Vince what he is going to do? Fire him? Del Rio is too good to be fired. He's a legend, and Vince can't afford to let him go. Vince reluctantly agrees with Del Rio that he can't fire him. Del Rio asks Vince if he wants money, because he's got plenty of that -- maybe even more than Vince since he spent $100 million on his wife's stupid political campaign. "Are you going to suspend me, Vince? Are you going to give me a holiday?" Vince seems taken aback and doesn't really know how to address Del Rio at this point. Del Rio then says that he may not have a contract like The Big Show, but he does whatever he wants regardless. He won't apologise to that incompetent referee, and if Vince doesn't get out of his ring, he's going to get up in the same shape.

"It's time to play The Game..."

Triple H makes his way out in COO attire. "Alberto...you might think that you can do whatever you want...but I can actually do whatever I want. If you lay a hand on Vince, I'm going to lay many on you. Then I'm going to get a sledgehammer...and I'm going to crack your skull open with it." Del Rio seems a little hesitant at this proposition. Del Rio tells Triple H to mind his own business and Triple H informs Del Rio that this is his business. That man is the grandfather of his children. He's family. He also informs Del Rio that the referee he hurt was an employee under his charge. He's a part of my WWE family. Triple H gives Del Rio the same demand that Del Rio gave Vince. "Get the hell out of my ring."

Del Rio thinks about it for a bit and then slowly backs up to the ropes and leaves. Triple H whispers something in Vince's ear as Del Rio gets back on his mic. "Hey Hunter...how's your arm going?" Del Rio then winks and returns to the back suddenly confident and with smile on his face.

Sure enough, later in the night, Triple H is attacked backstage by Del Rio and put in the Cross Armbreaker. Del Rio then tosses the fallen Triple H a sledgehammer. "Come on, Hunter! Hit me with it now!" Triple H picks up the sledgehammer in his right arm, but drops it due to the pain. Del Rio laughs as he hastily retreats -- the damage done.

Royal Rumble: Triple H vs. Alberto Del Rio. That would be a pretty big match to go along with CM Punk vs. The Rock for the WWE Title, Dolph Ziggler vs. Sheamus for the World Title, Eve Torres vs. AJ Lee for the Divas Title and the Rumble itself.

That would be great. And Del Rio taking advantage to the arm that Brock Lesnar broke twice.

I'm actually curious to see the whole Del Rio face turn that's been rumored more than seeing him feud as a heel again. Del Rio has the potential to be a great star but it's clear that this whole "Mexican aristocrat" thing just isn't gonna get him there.

I see the impending Del Rio face feud flopping worse than The Miz.....

Del Rio is a fantastic in ring presence. His facial expressions, his mannerisms, the way he mocks his opponents and the execution of everything he does...close to perfect. I don't know what it is, but Del Rio has lost a lot of steam. He seems to be far more interesting when he's not in the title picture.

I would love to see him feud with Daniel Bryan as well. Both guys are so fantastic at what they do. Oh, and when Christian returns, he'd make a great opponent for Del Rio.

Noid, you made a HHH vs. Del Rio feud interesting at a time when I was getting tired of Trips lingering in the scene and thinking how Del Rio has plateaud. Props, man!

That would be great. And Del Rio taking advantage to the arm that Brock Lesnar broke twice.

This would definitely be brought up by the announcers heading into the match. Lesnar and Del Rio both have submission moves that target that arm. You'd have these two work the Rumble together, and then at Elimination Chamber, you run Triple H vs. Lesnar II. The Chamber PPV could use a boost from having a legitimately big draw like that one on it. Lesnar vs. Triple H might not capture too many imaginations for WrestleMania XXIX, but like Hogan vs. Rock II, it would be great for that February PPV spot.

At that PPV, Shawn Michaels returns and kicks Brock Lesnar in the face, sending him into a Pedigree for the rebound victory for Triple H. Lesnar is all furious and he and Paul Heyman challenge the retired Shawn Michaels for WrestleMania.

I still think Lesnar vs. Michaels would not only be a classic, but that Lesnar and HBK, given their size and styles, would have one of the most interesting dynamics the WWE could ever play on. Lesnar would be such a heel and HBK would be such a babyface. I can't imagine them not having a Match of the Year candidate together.

In my dream world, Triple H would then lead a team against The Shield for WrestleMania. The feuds against Del Rio and Lesnar would remind people that he is the "lifeblood" of WWE; The Shield represent change and an upheaval of what they perceive to be injustices in the running of WWE. Who does Triple H choose to go into battle against The Shield? How about some old friends he knows he can trust to get the job done? One of the stand-out groups in recent WWE history. Randy Orton and Batista teaming up with Triple H as Evolution for one night at WrestleMania could be pretty huge stuff, but wouldn't overwhelm the main events. You also have Ric Flair show up alongside them as a bit of an unannounced WrestleMania surprise.

I'm not sure if those rumours that Sting might sign with the WWE when his current TNA deal expires are true or not, but if they were, it would be huge. The Undertaker vs. Sting at WrestleMania is something that would capture the imaginations of old fans from the Attitude era (and even before that). CM Punk could also very easily remain the WWE Champion until WrestleMania. Have him defend against The Rock and John Cena in a massive Triple Threat main event.

Dolph Ziggler could be the World Heavyweight Champion very soon if he keeps Money in the Bank. If AJ Lee turns heel and aligns with Ziggler at TLC, then she could be paired with the World Heavyweight Champion heading into WrestleMania for the second year in a row. That would also add to my proposed match for Dolph Ziggler at WrestleMania -- versus Daniel Bryan. All you need to do is go over the varied Slammy Award categories to see just how valuable this man has been to the WWE this year. Sheamus is definitely up there, too, but I do think that Dolph Ziggler vs. Daniel Bryan would be a match between two of the WWE's MVPs and a mat classic that could balance out the higher drawing matches. Bryan earning a title shot either via the Royal Rumble, or perhaps even by becoming King of the Ring between the Royal Rumble and WrestleMania would be a pretty good way to set him up to challenge Ziggler, who would be paired with the woman who escorted him to the ring as he was World Heavyweight Champion just a year before.

That leaves Ryback to face Big Show and giving us the WrestleMania moment of him Shell-Shocking The Giant.

Triple Threat Match for the WWE Championship
CM Punk (c) vs. The Rock vs. John Cena

World Heavyweight Championship
Dolph Ziggler (c) vs. Daniel Bryan

The Undertaker vs. Sting

Shawn Michaels vs. Brock Lesnar

Six-Man Tag Team Match
Evolution vs. The Shield

Big Show vs. Ryback

That card realistically has very little chance of happening (see #1-wwf-fan for a realistic Mania card), but I would greatly enjoy that show, and it really feels like there is something for everyone on the card.

Del Rio should just have Ricardo promo for him and then come in at the end with a catchphrase or something.

I am 100% certain that I would lobby for you if you ever attempted a job in the WWE. Not saying ALL of your ideas area great but you give more thought to a single post than it feels like some of these writers give in a 3 hour live tv show.

Honestly it probably won't be THAT much different. I mean maybe we'll see a little more attention to detail, but Trips seems like he's pretty much on board with Mcmahon's stuff.
