RVD? Kennedy? Orton?

(Not saying the Wellness Policy is bad)

I agree with Adamle.

I'm not even a fan of Chris Masters, but you have to feel a bit sorry for a guy who was hired simply because he looked impressive with a body attained because he was clearly on the gas, then got in trouble for being juiced, then kicked to he curb because that physique diminished. WWE had an unrealistic expectation for Chris, and wasn't some politick play by another wrestler or him being strung out on something illict or simply refusing to stop smoking weed. They put him in the akward spot of rewarding AND punishing him for exactly the same behavior.

Might just be me, but I think Chris Masters' biggest problem is that he sucked.

Yes. I wholeheartedly agree that he sucked. Had he not "looked the shit", he may well have never been hired to begin with. But that he was immersed in a culture that he wouldn't have had the shot to begin with if he looked like he did on his "comeback", even though he was still in really good shape. WWE has a history of going after tall people with a cometitve bodybuilder look and immediately pushing them. Add to that the fact his whole gimmick hinged upon him looking like a roided up freak. Yes, there's a point of personal responsibity, but there's also being set up to fail.

Its like hiring a theif to steal things, then firing him because he's a thief.

WWE likes the pretense that they are a legitimate business that wouldn't think about breaking the law. They're like the mob, but with fewer drive-by shootings.

I'm betting WWE goes so far as to encourage steroid abuse in more active ways. I'm betting part of the lecture includes "don't get caught." It's not the thieving that they have the problem with, but the thieves getting caught. After all, they have to pretend for the investors (and Congress).

Not really. WWE Wellness didn't fail William Regal, William Regal failed us. He was poised to be the biggest thing in the company, and be it insecurity or self-sabotage, he fucked that up.

How nobody has sympathy for the likes of RVD or TBK being depushed because of liking the weed, but a guy who was doing something he clearly didn't need to to get ahead warrants our tears baffles me.

I'm a big fan of Regal too, but he brought that on himself. He even admitted as much.

List of Bad Dudes?

Considering how many people have been found to be on steroids, can we really blame Regal?

Well, we can. Let me rephrase that.

Since steroid use is so ubiquitous we had dudes like the Hurricane and half of KaienTai on them, is it really that rageworthy that Regal was on them, too?

I thought he was railroaded out because he was "STUPID!!!" and an "injury prone botch machine" according to a Randy Orton who had way more clout back then?

Regal's situation was complicated. It's in one of the Regal threads a while back.

Yeah, he multi tasked well in triangle matches, usually kicking or back body dropping someone while holding another dude in the Masterlock.
