Remember that match he had with Cena at the Royal Rumble? Yeah, we're getting that one again. Remember that match he had with Sheamus before MITB last year that got "boring" chants/ Yeah, we're getting that one again too.

lol. It sounds like I'm just trying to insult them but laziness is literally the only explanation I can think of.

There were more guys involved in stuff and being groomed to be stars of the future when there was less than half the TV time. Now it seems like the schedule is: Eat chips all week... 7:50 on Monday randomly pick some people to throw into meaningless matches... 7:55 more chips.

Then in about 6 months when you realize no new stars are being built up, call up The Rock, Brock Lesnar or Batista to come back and hotshot one of the guys who have been booked as boring and irrelevant to the main event for a couple months before forgetting about them again.

Then, more chips.

Seriously though I feel like creative really just can't think outside of the box for some reason. They'll give us basically the same matches and segments week after week when building a feud or storyline.

In the last month how many times have we seen The Usos vs the New Age Outlaws and Rhodes Brothers vs New Age Outlaws for example? I feel like we've seen one of those two matches on every RAW and Smackdown for weeks now.

I really feel like this might be because of WWE being publicly traded. An air of uncertainty (read: surprise) is not welcome to people with money behind a product. I think the blandness is (oddly enough) good for business.

Wait, what? What's the connection between writing compelling storylines and pissing off the investors?

Predictability is worth investing in to some people. I'm not saying I agree with it, but it sort of seems that way to me.

I see your point here. Usually stuff coming out of corporate America tends to be bland so it can appeal to as many people as possible. If the show is predictable, but people are still watching it, they have no real reason to change anything.

The recent uproar of fans and the hijackings of shows could be the tipping point for this though and we might see something shake up, but probably not...

Yes, precisely. That's why pop music is popular.

I hope the hijackings change things, but nothing's really going to change unless revenue stops being generated...and oddly enough, the most vocal fans I think will still show up, having some sort of perverse fun with chanting things that they don't think the machine wants them to. In a roundabout way, they probably feel like part of the show themselves.

I think there's a middle ground though. You can have storylines and angles that don't "shake things up" too much. I'd say no storylines at all appeal to far less people than even safe, run of the mill storylines.

I tend to agree, but we're not the ones calling the shots, and our opinions are pretty irrelevant. I think they're playing it extremely "safe" right now. At least what THEY think is safe.

Actually, I think the fact that they turned Daniel Bryan and made him a member of the Wyatt Family a month ago goes against that theory. That shook things up a ton(despite the fact that they ended up ending it abruptly a couple weeks later). And that was with Daniel Bryan. I'm talking about guys much less significant than him at the moment involved in much more inconsequential storylines.

I still don't think they understand why people like Daniel Bryan.

I've always thought Cody Rhode's moonsault is just scary and unpleasant to watch. Why the hell he or anybody thought it would be a good idea to try a moonsault on a standing opponent from the top of the cage, I do not know. Please stop it.
