View Full Version : Should the Undertaker wrestle one more match at WM31?

People seem real big on Taker and Sting having a match.

I think I've mentioned on here before I think Taker vs Sting as they are today would be a TERRIBLE match (hence the birth of Surfer Sting vs Biker Taker only).

Every time Sting hits the Scorpion Death Lock now it looks a dude who is constipated and afraid to sit on a toilet and Taker can't go quite like he used to (though he is a better wrestler than Sting and always has been). If they did wrestle it would be twenty minutes of entrances (for each of them) followed by a very slowly paced 15 minute match full of them gingerly hitting their spots on one another.

And then Taker would win.

So what do you think, should the Undertaker wrestle one more time at Mania or just stay retired?

If he does wrestle again, there is only man I would like to see Taker face: I would like to see Undertaker go one on one with Teddy Long. Years of revenge story-line there.

I think he should take 2015 off as well and have WWE hire some expert to get him healthy and physically fit. Then have him show up at the 2016 Royal Rumble and wrestle here and there to keep his body going and then finally have one last match at WM32.

I don't want to post what I think as it may upset Iginfest

See, if he had the capacity to forgive for that whole "stalking my wife" deal, he could get DDP to teach him some yoga.

Cutting off his nose to spite his face, really.

Also, this is a double-layered question.

1) Should Taker have another match?
2) Should that match be against Sting?

I'm not against Taker having another match, it's not like he lost a match with a retirement stip and a "redemption" (as if that would stop him, anyway).

I'm also not against a Taker-Sting match. It'd be about the spectacle, the build up, the smoke and mirrors, the promos, etc more so than the in-ring stuff. My expectations would be low for the match, but I'm struggling to think of a good Taker match where wasn't in the ring with a top calibre opponent. Maybe against Batista.

I'd say no mostly because now that the streak is done, no need to do the annual rush to get back in shape. The past couple of years, he's barely been able to get healed or be fit in time.

Do agree with Jura that if he took next year off, the extra rest and recovery time could be very useful for a potential retirement match involving Sting.

If taker/sting happens, might as well just put Hogan/Flair on the card since they've had lots of time to heal up too. Then bring the Rock back for a match with Shawn Michaels, and Shane vs Vince in a Steph on a pole match and you're all set.

I don't know about a time frame, but I think he needs 2 more matches, tbh.

The obvious being Taker/Sting. Just for the spectacle and for honoring 2 of the biggest names over the last 25 years. Let them have their moment. Doesn't matter who wins to me. I honestly wouldn't mind if it ended in a non-finish; Double KO/count-out or something.

Then Taker should have a retirement stipulation match....and it should be against THE DEMON KANE. Seriously. All the history there. It needs to happen. Have Vince be involved in the build up, as well. End a classic storyline with one final match, have Taker go out in a blaze of glory (read: go out in a flaming casket), and give Kane a little nod for all the work he has put in over the last 20 years without ever being given his time in the spot light. Kane deserves that after all he has done, just like he deserves one decent title run that he will never get most likely. Hell, have Kane win the title like 2 months before this match. Then him v Taker, title v retirement. Kane wins, but gets mauled in the process and is left in a weakened state and then loses the title at the next PPV. That would be epic imo.

Rock vs Austin or no dice.

Shawn would obv be tied up in a sharpshooter from Bret since this event will take place in Montreal.

That Taker/Brock match was so good. Def want to see that again when Taker is a few years older.

HHH needs to win the Andre the Giant Battle Royal too so the young guys can get some rub.

I always put the option to vote for both in every poll, mainly for Shisen (he has a hard time deciding usually).

I voted yes/no but for a good reason. Iginfist will hate this but if it's Biker Taker vs Surfer Sting then hell yeah. Any other variation...poop on that.

No point, the streak is over.

And bald Taker creeps me out.

The wrestling fan in me says yes, but I know that he shouldn't so I voted no. Would it be cool to see "one more match"? Of course. But honestly, would it really be worth it? Probably not.

TakerLover says no. As already stated, the streak is over and he's already too broken. Perhaps a "legend moment with Sting" would be nice.

Seeing them in the same ring would be electric.... The crowd is going nuts. THIS IS AWESOME chants are causing the very foundation of the building to shake. The ref looks at the time keeper and signals him to ring the bell... They the two stars look at each other for a while. Then they lock up....

This is where the excitement will end....

As much as I would love to see him have one more match against Sting, he looked absolutely awful this year against Lesnar. Maybe it's for the best that he hangs it up.

Everything ive heard points to him not recovering well. I think he knows he's old and would rather not tarnish his legacy at this point so im HOPING he doesnt work again.

I'd loved to have seen Taker/Sting, but since the streak has been conquered, I do not think Taker should wrestle ever again, unless it is at Mania versus Lesnar and he beats him to "gain a measure of revenge"

It depends what sort of shape The Undertaker is in and whether or not he wants to work another match. Maybe instead of wrestling at WrestleMania, he'd rather compete in a town that is special to him, or something?

I've got no interest in seeing Taker vs. Sting. If he were to come back for another match, I'd like to see him choose a younger star and put them over. Taker vs. Cesaro? That would kick ass.

I really would love to see just one more match against Kane to finish the story. You could have a build-up covering all their history, and have it built as a final end of an era thing. One last show down.

It wouldn't need to be a brutal 5 star match that would take it out of him. There could be lots of posing and "moments" The sitting up, the lights out, all the classic stuff. It would be more about the spectacle than the match.

Finally have Taker lose to a tombstone, Kane does the whole fire thing and exits, takes off the mask out of respect, something like that and exits after a moment between the two.

Taker, in the ring alone, gets the standing ovation he deserves, proper, long applause. Gets down on the one knee, rolls the eyes, lights go off, and he is gone.

Would be a classic Mania moment, wrap up the story between the two, give Kane a nod for his career and give Taker the send-off he deserves in a classic Mania moment
