After watching SummerSlam and then Raw this week, I got thinking.

As we all know, Vince, Stephanie and Dunn all talk to JBL, Cole and Lawler through the headsets from the Gorilla Position, telling them what to say and do and all that.

But who gives orders to the Spanish Announce Team, and now the German Announce Team? Or do they just get "free range" to say what they want, but obviously, they have to stick to the subject at hand.

I'd also like to mention the French Announce Team, that were at WrestleMania XXX.

On that subject, what did I miss with the bringing in of the German announce team? I'm spotty with my Raw viewing, was there some storyline that called for the need for German announcers or something?

Remember when JR went heel and built his own announce desk right in front of King and Michael Cole? lol

Pretty sure I mentioned it, but when I was a kid they used to show WCW Saturday Night or whatever that was on some obscure channel and they had two drunk guys doing commentary. They said what they felt like and would just make up wrestler's names, moves' names etc. on the spot.

Thing I remember the most was how they would call Johnny B. Badd Johnny Tutti Frutti and Hulk Hogan The Bald Eagle.

I had (sadly incorrectly) assumed years ago that WWE would continue adding announce tables of various nationalities until the ring looked like a perpetual lumberjack match.

They probably flew those guys in from Germany for SummerSlam and made sense to go ahead and have them do RAW too and a bunch of other stuff before they flew them back to Germany.

They are the same German commentators that do the weekly broadcasts on Euro Sport in Germany (at that time) as well. No mistaking those voices.

I was always a fan of Ray Rougeau and his fabulous mustache at the French announce booth back in the day.

Have watched Raw or Smackdown in Spanish and for the promos they just translate what the guys are saying, it is weird. I wonder how they handle when the wrestlers come down to be a guest speaker for a match

I missed Ricardo doing the ring announcements my girl would translate what he was saying and often times Ricardo would insult ADRs Tag partner or opponent.
