Fans who have been waiting to see Samoa Joe finally make his debut in WWE might be getting what they want sooner than they think.

According to Reddit user Falcon Arrow, who has privately proved his credentials to the moderators of the Reddit website, Joe has signed a contract with WWE that is at least a two-year deal.

The user goes on to claim that WWE currently has plans on the books for Joe to make his official debut with the company at the end of the upcoming NXT Takeover: Unstoppable live WWE Network special, which takes place on Wednesday, May 20th.

IMO NXT is only going to get better. Alot of nice matchups we get to see with him. Me personally Joe vs Breeze and Balor are the 2 bouncing around in my head.

Thoughts? Bitches, gripes, complaints?

I've always thought that Joe should debut by staring down Owens to close a show. Would be a "Whoa, shit!" moment.

So will Joe just stay in NXT?

I guess it depends on how much of a stir he creates and whether or not he gives Vince and Kevin stiffies.

Pretty much what they should do. Not sure Owen's reign of terror has lasted long enough though.

I'm not the biggest Joe fan, but that'd be pretty cool if it played out this way.

Plus, since they already went with a somewhat realistic approach with the Zayn/Owens feud, Zayn getting into WWE first and this being about Owen feeding his family etc, it'd be a cool way to bring Joe in as well, bringing up his history in the indies and only now making it to WWE.

Or some bollocks like that.

That was my first thought. After Owens has terrorized NXT and made his claim as the biggest dog in the yard, Joe coming out to stare him down and Owens having just a hint of "Oh, shit..." in his eyes would be great.

Hell, I'd even rather see The Hardys or Kennedy back than "Oh, look another Samoan guy in WWE!"

I don't follow NXT, but I've heard it's good so maybe I'm wrong in thinking this, but...

Samoa Joe has been wrestling for 15 years and he really isn't young so why is he on NXT? I think that's a slap in the face to him that he's on NXT.

Joe is gonna end up being a star...I think he has what it takes...like CM Punk, everyone expected WWE to crap on him and make him "Hobbit Anderson", but they went with his indy name and he became the biggest star in the promotion for a bit.

I can see Joe getting into main event territory easy.

To a degree NXT is the place to be. It's the best product WWE produce, and it's solidly over with the smack fans. If they're looking to spin NXT off into a legitimate brand of its own (with touring dates, etc) then it's a win-win situation. I'd assume Joe would be a little better paid than most of the unknown "rookies", like Balor allegedly is.

NXT will allow him to be awesome and not have to deal with Vince's goofy bullshit,at least not till he hits the main roster.

A big part of me thinks Vince's mindset is "you aren't part of the Anoa'i family then fuck you legacy only"

I don't get this. I thought NXT was for the younger, up and coming superstars? Samoa Joe is 36, hardly a newcomer to the industry even if he is new to WWE.

Amongst wrestling fans, he is "known" so why not just throw him into the main roster and have him feud with an established star....I don't know....how about Cena when he next calls out a challenger for the US title? Or Roman Reigns or even Randy Orton?

Everyone spoke about how Sting was going to be the "last great debut" but Samoa Joe could be a great debut if WWE want to make it right.

Brock Lesnar and Samoa Joe would make a great match.

Putting him in NXT rather than the main roster, isn't this like a demotion of sorts? Like being told "You may have been a big star over in TNA but here in WWE you're nothing, so start at the bottom and work your way up"?

I was never a fan of his in TNA but he was a major star there, he is well known amongst wrestling fans and surely putting him into the spotlight against an established star like Cena, Orton, Lesnar or heck even someone like Mark Henry would make sense?

Ideal situation for me would be for him to cost Cena the US title at Payback and begin a feud or make him the 6th man in the Elimination Chamber or the "7th man" and cost a major face the IC title e.g. Ziggler.

Yeah, always thought NXT was supposed to be a replacement to the New Talent Initiative, which IIRC, was started c. 2005 when supposed "network exec" Palmer Cannon began advising Theodore Long on SD!

I don't see it as a demotion, he probably makes more money in WWE compared to TNA. NXT is one of the hottest brand going right now and Joe going to NXT just builds up the brand. With Joe, Uhaa, Owens, Balor, and Itami all in NXT it going to be great. Them being their helps the guys that WWE is trying to develop.

Joes does have a past with John Cena so when he does debut on the main roster him and John could tell a good story.

As big of a deal as Joe is, he's not some mainstream superstar that just hits the entrance ramp and fans blow up. Maybe in some cities, but most casual fans who follow WWE will likely not know much if at all about Joe.

Getting him in nxt will get him acclimated with the WWE style of working matches as well as how their general tv production works. It'll all work out.

Well I guess that's just indicative of how wrestling fans are these days i.e. they just follow the one federation/brand and pay little attention to other brands and up and coming stars. Of course the game changed long ago when WWE bought out WCW and ECW and ended any chance of their being viable competition, TNA is just terrible in terms of how the company is run etc.

Even when Sting returned it was made out as if he had been on hiatus for 14 years rather than any mention of him acquiring titles at TNA and still remaining active in the business.

It's sad because if Samoa Joe had the potential to generate a shit hot reaction from the crowd just by appearing on the ramp, imagine the feuds he could have.

Furthermore I would not be surprised to see some hardcore TNA fans switch over or at least tune into NXT or WWE. In the UK at least there are a number of TNA hardcores, mainly because TNA is on free-to-air television as opposed to WWE which isn't.

It may well be time to bring back the separate brands: Smackdown and NXT could be the brands as it were but RAW would be the neutral flagship. Have a major title/titles for both.

It would reignite some interest in to what is becoming a rather tedious WWE atm.

Joe will be fine if Kevin Owens can come in and get over with the fans Joe shouldn't have a problem. As a wrestling fan Joe is one of my favorites and when he gets to WWE it will be boss. Kinda hoping Owens and crew stay in NXT a little longer so they can work with Joe and Uhaa.
