Hmmm. Now this is a good one. Going to take awhile to decide. Booker T was always amazing but if he legendary status? Hmmmmm.

This for me is increadibly challenging but on a personal level.

WCW Booker T around the TV title run period produced some of my all time favorite matches. The stuff with Benoit, Finley, Rick Steiner, Scott Steiner so much high quality work coming from him in that time frame. His move set was killer and he got a lot of it over enough to have multiple believable finishes. His career was long and had success at every level.

Trish stil wins this one though. Trish had an impact on how women would be veiwed in the business, she is a trail blazer. While I go with her, it hurts my heart to do it.

Booker T. Easily one of my all-time favourites, possibly even top five! Was a huge fan of him in his WCW days, all the way til now. One of the most underrated "legends" in pro wrestling, in my opinion.

6 time world champion, gotta go with Booker T. Yeah Trish was a legend, but who was she really up against? Booker T did what he did against the best of the best.

Booker T in my opinion. Trish had a huge impact on the business, and she and Lita are essentially responsible for paving the way for the current division. However, in terms of in-ring work, charisma, and overall entertainment value Booker beats her out.

Trish Stratus easily.

Exactly. That was my entire point. He was saying seven matches was stupid.

I don't think so. He said 'get it right', not 'beat him' or 'settle it'. Either way, point stands.

That's a booking decision. Says nothing about the lack of quality of the wrestler. It actually means the opposite that people liked the matchup and wanted to see more.

Point unstands.

Hey, nincompoop. I agree with what you said there. What Fastway said is what I'm disagreeing with.

Booker T.

Had a great career in both WCW and WWE while also being one of the very few guys to be great with the King gimmick in the WWE.

"Shucky Ducky Quack Quack" is just the worst for so many reasons. Points deducted for stealing a ridiculous catchphrase from a 90's Def Jam comic and somehow making it even more corny. Trish wins.

I wonder how Booker T would fare if he came up in today's age. He was in there at a time when there was The Rock, Stone Cold Steve Austin, Ric Flair, Hollywood Hogan, Goldberg, The Undertaker, Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels, Triple H, Mick Foley, etc... And he still came out of it a legend.

If he came in today's era I think he'd be right up there in with Randy Orton in terms of presentation and status.

I'm honestly not sure how Trish Stratus would fare in today's age with these women. Sure you could say she was hot at a time when there were the same people that I just mentioned, but she was never in direct competition with them since she was a woman. Her greatest competition was Lita, and who would be #3?

Put Trish in today's era and I'm not sure how she would fare. Put Booker T in it and I think you have another main event level star. Booker T should get the vote.

Women are absolutely in direct competition with men. The matches aremt real. What they compete for is screen time and its far more difficult for a woman to get it than a man.

They aren't in DIRECT competition. They are in competition for camera time and the amount of camera time they get. But there's always going to be the need for sex appeal, and when you have someone like Trish Stratus, then you add what she brought in the ring after she learned, and who was her competition there?

You had Lita as the alternative, but not directly competing for Trish's spot.

You could say Stacy Keibler and Torrie Wilson were competition in the sex appeal department, but the were wretched when it came to anything else.

Jacqueline is no match in the sex appeal, and she is kind of in the Lita territory of alternative.

Sable matched in the sex appeal, but was awful in the ring.

Sunny set the bar for diva's and sex appeal, but she didn't/couldn't wrestle.

Ivory was pretty hot and probably better in the ring, but now let's add in that casual/mainstream crowd appeal and who wins? Trish by a mile.

Victoria was pretty decent in the ring (although I feel she's overrated, Trish was better.) She was okay to look at, but the creepy vibe sent her to the alternative side.

It wasn't really until Mickie James debuted and feuded/dated Trish that Trish had any real competition on all sides of the fence for her spot as top diva, and by that point Trish's legacy had already been cemented.

So really; until Mickie James, Trish's competition was Stacy Keibler, Torrie Wilson, Ivory, and you could probably say that Sable and Sunny were former competitors/managers that Trish strived to be better than.

Trish by a mile there.

No men really competed with Trish for her spot. Trish was around at a time where tits and ass were mandatory to be shown on screen, and no one's were better than hers, and no male is gonna take that spot. I'd say you could say the male wrestlers competed with the other women for a spot on tv, but one spot is already set, it's up to the women to get up there and take that spot.

Your argyment exists on the crux that x ammount of alloted tv existed for her gender.

This is false. Once you establish this every ounce of your argument becomes moot.

Women could have been given no camera time as they had years prior or they could have been given 3 min w/entrances as they would be given once she left.

Trish segments would last as long or longer as the males on the show and every second tv time given to her was at the expense of male talent.

Let me be super clear: this is not about entitlement. Women are only entitled to the screen time that is dictated by demand for their act. Trish was the first to propell that demand on par with male acts.

Sable was pretty huge around the time she hit Playboy, as was Chyna, Miss Elizabeth? Trish Just did more than them, but they were all main event women at one point. I should've added Elizabeth to the list.

And they were given the 3 minute matches when she was there, the only exception would be a handful of Trish's matches.

Sable has a place on the mt Rushmore of modern women's wrestling, Chyna as well. They led to Trish. Neither we're big draws but Sable brought women back to the product and Chyna validated the gender. Neither case takes away from Triah however. Miss Elizabeth is out of place in this conversation.

(3min w/ entrances =/= 3 min matches ftr. Most tv matches were 3-7min at that time. Divas matches post Trish were 3min w/entrances. Horrid times.)

Of course none of this refutes that they were competing for men's time. Chyna worked men directly and Sable too fought for men's time no different than the women who came before or since.

Pre-Sable women werent on the show. They arent under obligation to give women time every week. Since 98 weve seen big strides in the value on women's wrestling. While Trish was on thw roster they would give a solid 15min per show to Trish's segement plus another 7 to whomever they were building up to face her down the road. Thats a sizable piece of the pie. Especially then.

Agaim you are coming from a place that women are somehow entitled to 20 min a night and thats revisionist history at best.

I voted for Booker T, but I'm not sure how strongly I feel about it.

Versatility-wise, I feel that Trish is actually better. She could play a heel way better than Booker could. What Booker achieved, however, is actually incredibly admirable. He survived the WWE. They tried everything they could to stamp him out. The Invasion stuff, the shampoo commercial/comedy stuff and WrestleMania XIX all jump out.

That being said, they did have Trish bark like a dog. Hmm.

Booker T is one of those guys that people now say "I don't feel like he was ever top guy material," but I really think that might be confirmation bias. His size, skill, talking ability, charisma, etc. all came together in a really nice package. If he had been booked better, he could have been a major deal.

I still remember that fucking reaction when he jumped the barricade and put Austin through the table.

Lock Jaw has yet to throw down his crucial vote.

I have meditated long and hard on this.

Trish Stratus no doubt had more of an "impact" on the business (on her side of the business, the female side). However, this isn't who had the biggest impact, it is "better wrestler".....

I think both are really good. I do think that Booker T is somewhat "overrated"..... there were large portions of his WWE career where I thought he was a "solid hand", but I wasn't clambering for him to be any higher on the card or anything. I also seem to be one of the only ones who didn't love the "King Bookah" world title run. Thought it was "ugh".

Nevertheless, this has been a hard decision for me.

So in the end I looked at it like this:

If I could choose to have one or the other come back as if they were in the prime of their career?

The answer is Trish Stratus.
