Angle has had his drug issues but he hasn't OD'd (yet) so I mean, objectively he is better.

If Eddie had not died when he did and his career lasted a few more years, he would have gotten my vote.... Angle gets my vote, even though Eddie is in my Top 5.....

These two are VERY similar for me.

Both had all the charisma in the world.

Both could deliver any kind of match you needed from them.

Great promos.

I think Guerroro had more potential at the gate with the way the hispanic market was growing while he and mysterio were around but Kurt probably drew more in the long run having more years as a top guy.

This is about as even as choice can get in my eyes.

I think the only thing Im left with is personal bias and nostalgia makes me vote for Eddie.

Both are amazing but I went for Kurt Angle just because I found him more entertaining overall. I wasn't a big fan of face Eddie

Angle without hesitation. Eddie is not a Mount Rushmore wrestler. He MIGHT go down in the top 20 wrestlers if he is lucky.

People should consider that Eddie Guerrero has legacy outside the WWE and a longer history of being such a wonderful wrestler than just his WWE stints.

I like both about the same but Kurt gets the edge since he's white.

Legacy outside WWE? Angle is a gold medalist in wrestling.

Definitely Angle. Loved Eddie but Angle could have been "face of the company" material. Angle was closer to a perfect all-arounder.

I went with Eddie, just because it's so close and it comes down to who I'd rather have at their prime if I were picking my dream roster. You'd kill for Angle, but I'd eat a baby for Eddie. Angle is technically great and entertaining and can talk, but according to a few former writers of the time, he liked a lot of his stuff scripted (BEASTIALITY sex!), whereas Eddie seems a more natural promo. He also brings that Hispanic audience, potentially. As great as Angle is, I think he carries less stock as a potential draw, but only because he's just a Yank.

Went with Kurt. Both were really great wrestlers but felt Kurt was a bit better overall and Eddie's time at the top got cut way too short because of his sudden passing.

Sort of like with Daniel Bryan, if Eddie had a few more years at the top in the WWE, could have easily become the next mega-star for the company.

Didn't even have to think about this one. Eddie is my favorite of all time. Am I bias? Hell yeah I am, but I'm still voting Latino Heat.

Ok Angle. For this vote I threw all my other criteria out of the window to focus on 2 things: heel and face runs. I ADORED the shit outta Eddie as a heel as a face it would start out well enough but then start to grate on my nerves. Kurt never got old heel or face.

Oh come on. That has nothing to do with anything.

How do you figure? I mean, come the fuck on, dude. You can't POSSIBLY be serious (and I'm not just saying that out of dislike for you, either, BTW). Angle won an OLYMPIC GOLD MEDAL in 1996. Olympic wrestling, which is not only athletic and non-scripted, but who's Greco-Roman roots dating back to the ancient Olympics contributed heavily to the nature of professional wrestling evolving to c!osely resemble that style by the late 19th-early 20th Centuries.

The point is indeed relevant and should be considered along with each man's championships and other accomplishments, quality of opponents in their careers, charisma, look and how well they talk on the mic.

Yeah, really don't think that having a gold medal means shit when it comes to professional wrestling. How many gold medalists have been top pro-wrestlers? Exactly. Is Chad Gable instantly ahead of John Cena because of his Olympic history? It's a bit of a ridiculous point to make unironically.

Do you also want to ignore the fact that had he not made the podium at all that year, that the then-WWF might never have taken notice of him and subsequently signed him? Because that seems like it would've been a distinct possibility in my mind.

Then we should include Ron Simmons college football career when discussing his wrestling accomplishments. Makes as much sense.

I disagree. When judging wrestling skill technical skills and mat skills are important and I'd argue that his gold medals are a clear indicator that he was one of if not the best in the world at those pure technical skills. I'd also argue that his Olympic fame gave him a level of credibility that others would find hard to ever achieve. People like to knock wrestling for what it is but you couldn't say that about angle because he had legit real world credibility as a wrestler.

And it really isn't surprising that there aren't many gold medalists as top pro wrestlers. That's kind of a stupid argument. Pro wrestling is about more than your technical and athletic prowess. You have to be able to play a role and do it believably. You have to have charisma. Angle was gifted with all of those things and is an extremely rare breed as such. Not to mention there really aren't that many medalists of any kind period. It's not a large pool to pick from.

And comparing gable/cena to this is ridiculous and overexaggerated. You're talking a newcomer against a probable mount Rushmore candidate in cena. This is about a sum total of these people's careers. Kurt angle isn't a newcomer. He's paid his due and earned his fame. Maybe one day gable will as will and then his career can be weighed but to compare him to angle at this juncture is outrageous.

Besides the poll is better wrestler. Not better pro wrestler.

First paragraph was basically the point I was trying to make. And as much as some might be loathe to hear the name of a certain tag team partner of Angle as well as worthy opponent, Benoit, I think was one of the guys just below main-event status that truly elevated Kurt's technical game and made him tighten up and tweak his skillset as his career got into its later years.
