View Full Version : Which rookie do you see making it big in the next decade?

Big is relative. I count TNA championships as "big" since it's someone making good money on tv.

How is a rookie defined?

It's really hard to predict in today's WWE landscape, especially with it's booking being all over the place.

At the start of the year, I'd have said that WWE seem pretty high on Big Cass and he definitely has a good future ahead of him. On the other hand, I can't think of fuck all that he's done in the last five months of any relevance, and Jinder Mahal is now WWE champion.

At this point in time literally anything can happen.

I'm a fan of Big Cass and I see him having a large role in the future. Maybe change his ring gear when he splits from Enzo.

Someone just starting out in wrestling. How about first 5 years?

Agree with others that WWE is way too unpredictable with their booking. Years ago if you had told me that it would take as long as it did for Wyatt to become champion, and that it would be a nothing trasitionary one month run, I'd have called you crazy.

Might be easier to predict which WWE talent will get released and become TNA champion. I'll go with Tye Dillinger.

Maybe "make it big" was too vague. WWE can pick anyone to be champ without the fans caring.

How many wrestlers actually join WWE out of the gate? Everyone has years of experience before making it to the big company.

Roman Reigns, Barron Corbin, Mojo Rawly, and Charlotte just to name a few off the top of my head.

Charlotte is obviously not typical.

About 5% start out in WWE basically? That really helps the discussion of this thread.

He doesn't have a speech impediment though.

One thing I think is odd though is they're not grabbing the smaller weight classes too. There's a lot of super-intense amateur wrestlers in every level that could be pretty great.

The Drifter. A taller and buffer Seth Rollins.

Props for calling that, especially considering he was a bit player in NXT.

I agree with others about how a rookie is defined. The clearly easy answer is Velveteen Dream.

The other ones while certainly not rookie, Ricochet and Adam Cole are still young enough to make a hell of a run.

Not because he's my favorite or anything
but Tommaso Ciampa has the minute stuff of being a slimy, condescending prick down cold. He's going to thrive in a big way, since their booking these days seems to be centered on long, meandering title reigns for heels. "Oh, the face is going to get their moment here, haha no they're not. OK here it is, they've got their big rematch, they're going to do it right here, no they're not ."

Mr. Nerfect
09-14-2018, 04:58 AM
Never saw that video when I said Jake Kasper. I just knew Gerry Brisco saw a lot of John Cena in him. Then I saw a photo. If he can deliver a WWE script and put together matches, he will be fine. Of course, the lights might hit him and he could be a deer. But man, watching that video, he sounds like a John Cena type. He sounds exactly like a self-made Superman without the powers. Vince is going to love him.

Mr. Nerfect
09-14-2018, 05:02 AM
Lol, from his Instragram:

“Fight for the people and things you love, no matter what task or risk you may face, it will be worth it!”.... .
.
.
This week somebody said “When you talk about your coaches I can tell you actually love them. Most people respect and listen to their coaches, some even like them, but you really love them. Even after everything they put you through in training and that’s special.”... .
.
.

While making your college decision, be cautious of traininng partner, financial, facility, and resource promises from coaches lacking character. Make your decision based on who will lead through life and not just in the wrestling room over the next five years. .
.
.
I love my coaches with every bit of my being. They called it straight, were unwaveringly loyal, and drove me to be the best version of myself in all facets of life. They lived champion lifestyles and peached for us to do the same. I always tried to meet their standards, on and off of the mat, because of their authenticity. .
.
.
Despite no blood relation we are family. Despite being grown men we love each other. Despite society’s perceptions we expressed it, because it was genuine and real. In the future I hope my wrestlers will say the same."

Lol, this guy is either going to be WWE Champion in the next five years, or he's going to burn out big time and question his very existence.
