Thats pretty dead on. I turned it off after 30 minutes. I had a few issues that i couldnt get past. One, he has this book where he's killing people with and he tells a chick that he just meets at school like a fucking dumb ass. Who does that? Two, this is small one, but in the same scene he tells her to look at the last death to prove that the book is real cause its some kid from the school, but the last death written in the book should be the mobster he killed with the book the night before. Small shit like that unnerves me.

So ya i turned it off. Let me know if i should give it a shot again.

The real conflict/story ends up being between him and this agent named "L". That part is much better than the first half hour.

Seemed ok But since I have not seen anything related to the original to base it on. Will have to check the old stuff out more.

They do a well enough job adapting 12 hours worth of content into a 100 min film. Obviously the source material is way better but i didnt hate this. L was terrible but i really liked Mia. Light was meh. 1st act was very rushed.

They're gonna need a sequel cause things starting really looking like Death Note toward the end.

Would have worked better stretched into 5-6 hours. Heel turn felt too rushed.
