I just had a meeting with someone regarding a big deal (non-wrestling related). As we were talking about a contract I found myself mentioning things such as exclusivity, kill fee, no compete clauses etc.

I knew these things at a cursory glance but I must say that from shoot interviews, leaked contracts, disputes and such I am much sharper.

To those of you that are in business(and not still in your parents basement), have you found your knowledge of " the business " helped you in your life ?

Not to that degree but I NEVER sign a contract unless there’s a huge audience, cameras, and a very easily broken table.

I made sure that I got a 25% cut of all merchandise when I signed my contract at work

I'm a manager and sometimes I say things like "Cynthia is really getting over the boys, maybe we should give her a push". Or when I have a worker who isn't being a team player but still working hard I will pull them to the side and say "I appreciate your hard work but you just went out there and went into business for yourself.."

They have no idea.

All jokes aside I have to say that being a part of the wrestling industry has definitely made me a better businessperson and has allowed me to develop better skills, especially at marketing and communications.

I oil my chest and wear tights to work. I also press enter by elbow dropping it from a file cabinet, making sure everyone at the office sees my glorious mane flowing.

When you are not happy with a certain clause in an agrčement you could always pull out " that doesn't work for me, brother"
