UPDATE: I just realised something, eventually we will have an odd number, at that point three way dances will occur, I appologize for my lack of forsight.
That's right folk here it is, I along with a few friends complied a list of 100 wrestlers we though could contend for the title of greatest wrestler of all time. I imagine some of you will contend certain wrestlers being in this contest or other not being entered. Please feel free as you vote to comment on that. For further notice some guys I put on here are guys I personally would not put on but cannot ignore their popularity or contribution to the industry, others I put on because I love them and that's that. Now let's get on with the first round.
Ladies and Gentlemen, The folllwing contests are scheduled all for one fall, the winner of each bout will advance to the next round, we shall keep going until there is one left and he shall be crowned TPWW's Greatest Wrestler.
EDITED: Sorry for the really long delay.
The Final result
Total votes = 51
Winner = purple
Bret Hart 28 vs Chris Jericho 23
Hart and Jericho shake hands before tying up, a quick series of reversals follows resulting in 4 near falls, 2 for each man. Jericho gains the advantage with headscissors and proceeds to stomp Hart into the mat. However he attempts one stomp too many as Hart catches his foot and flips him to the mat. Hart locks in a figure four and lets out a sarcastic Whooo at the same time. Jericho’s shoulders end up down on the mat a couple of times resulting in close 2 counts, Jericho however somehow manages to reverse the pressure and then flip back over and smallpackages him for 2. Both men are now back on their feet. Bret Hart beings an onslaught that would last 15 minutes scoring many near falls. Jericho to his credit refuses to quit and he takes over control of the match at 25:35. He’d maintain control himself for nearly a half-hour, but Bret Hart refused to go down, he’d kick out of everything Jericho threw at him and even managed to get out of the Liontamer. At 53:35 things started to even out and the momentum shifted back and forth seemingly at random. Neither Jericho nor Hart wanted to lose this match. This match was clearly going to come down to who made the first mistake and at 1:35 that mistake happened. Jericho clearly exhausted attempted a smallpackage but Hart managed to use Jericho’s own momentum and roll through for the 1.2.3.
After the match both men exhaustedly shook hands and then hugged in the ring. Soon after Owen Hart, Keith Hart, Stu Hart, Lance Storm, Dynamite Kid, Davey Boy Smith, Chris Benoit, Edge, Christian, Abdullah the butcher, Roddy Piper, Steve Corino, Test, Val Venis, Just Joe, Brian Pillman, and pretty much every other wrestler who has strong ties with Canadian wrestling come to the ring and together they all celebrate Bret Hart`s victory and Chris Jericho’s valiant effort.
Shawn Micheals, HHH and a couple of TPWW guys who like Hogan and Flair try to charge the ring but they quickly get disposed off and the celebration continues, all night long.
YOUR WINNER: BRET HART

UPDATE: I just realised something, eventually we will have an odd number, at that point three way dances will occur, I appologize for my lack of forsight. If you wish I could attempt to add another 28 wrestlers, or when we get to odd numbers we just 3 way dance some of them, up to you guys, I can do either.

Final decision gonna just leave it and 3 way dance it later, coming up with a 100 guys and then randomly seeding them took long enough plus adding more will just force me to add guys I don't feel should be in this tourney.

Yah, I don't really like either but I needed a current guy and Rhodes is a legend. I voted for HHH because he used to entertain me, I only got to see Rhodes WWF stuff and it ain't much to me.

Match 1
Jimmy Snuka 40 vs Art Barr 3
The TPWW fans were treated to a fantastic fast paced opening match, Barr really got a chance to showcase his skills and leave us all wondering once more just what may have been. Barr started off with a flurry but eventually it would be Snuka who would gain the advantage, with a series of arm drags and a perfectly executed dropkick. The end of the match came when Barr attempted to superplex Snuka off the top rope. However the veteran Snuka blocked it and pushed Barr off, one Snuka splash later and the match was over
YOUR WINNER: Jimmy "SUPERFLY" SNUKA
Match 2
Giant Baba 9 vs Kerry Von Erich 34
Kerry Von Erich scored an upset victory over, the legendary Giant Baba. Going into the match it assumed that Baba due to his distinct height advantage would be the victor. Kerry Von Erich would however prove the old assumption adverb true as he blocked the Baba’s trademark ''16-mon'' kick technique and then in an impressive feat leaping up and in mid air locking on his deadly Claw hold. It was only a matter of seconds before Baba dropped to his knees and then only a few minutes more before he was flat on his back tapping out.
YOUR WINNER: KERRY VON ERICH
Match 3
Tiger Mask 24 vs Antonio Inoki 19
(It still remains unknown just which Tiger Mask showed up for the match against Inoki.)In what would go down as a classical match between two Japanese superstars it was Tiger Mask who would get the win after what was definitely a match that could have gone either way. The end came when Tiger Mask reversed Inoki’s Octopus Hold into the Tiger Suplex. A 3 count later and it was Tiger Mask who got his hand raised.
YOUR WINNER: TIGER MASK
Match 4
Chris Benoit 30 vs Ted Dibiase 13
The TPWW fans were treated to a 5 star classic with this match, both men pulled out all the stops, Benoit nailed the flying headbutt , but only got two. The match also marked the return of Benoit’s patented tope rope powerbomb, a maneuver that had put down many a foe in the past, it would not on this night however as Dibiase would amazingly kick out at 2. Benoit had an intense look of frustration on his face has he picked Dibiase up off the canvas, that frustration turned to sheer anger as he began to triple German suplex Wrestling’s Richest Man. The first two germans were excuted flawlessly, however Dibiase, who quickly followed it up with a go behind, blocked the third and before Benoit knew it he was trapped in The Million-Dollar Dream. Just when it looked like Benoit might tap, he pulled off what will go down in history as one of the most amazing reversals ever, he reached back with his left leg and tripped up Dibiase causing him to lose balance ever so slightly. That slight loss of balance was all Benoit would need as he would grab one of Dibiase’s arms and drop him to the mat while he simultaneously locked in the Crippler Crossface. Moments later Dibiase tapped and Benoit was your winner.
YOUR WINNER: THE CANADIAN CRIPPLER CHRIS BENOIT

From the opening bell Jerry Lynn would assault the artist formally known as Da Man with every maneuver he could think of, dropkicks both standing and off the top rope, a sunset flip powerbomb, he even hit his own version of the 5 star frog splash just to spite RVD. Goldberg however would kick out of every move, refusing to back down, only moments after the sunsetflip powerbomb, Goldberg would spear and Jackhammer Lynn, however much to his shock it would only keep Lynn down for a 2 count, 30 seconds after that Goldberg was hit with the Cradle Piledriver and that would be all she wrote.
YOUR WINNER: JERRY LYNN
Match 6
Curt Hennig 40 vs The Great Sasuke 3
Henning absolutely dominated The Great Sasuke, Sasuke was just not on his game and fell surprisingly quickly to The Perfect Plex. Hennig would then proceed to give a 15-minute demonstration to the fans of why he was truly perfect. In what was arguably one of the most anticipated matches of the evening. Sting and Angle did not disappoint. Both men hit their signature moves. In the upset of the night Raven would defeat the legendary British superstar Dynamite Kid. It should however be noted that Raven was given the advantage as the match was fought under Raven’s rules. That is not to take away from Raven’s impressive victory as he did manage to kick out of a Dynamite Kid top rope swandive headbutt. This match-up was back and forth, Dynamite Kid would even kick out of Raven’s brutal drop toehold on a steel chair. The end came with Dynamite Kid attempting yet another diving headbutt, this time however Raven would amazingly get up and catch Dynamite in midair with the Evenflow DDT. Dynamite’s own momentum intensified the impact ten fold and the three count was academic.

YOUR WINNER: WILLIAM REGAL

Stan Hansen 8 vs Billy Graham 35
Superstar Billy Graham was all over Stan Hansen in this match. Hansen got in little offense and when he did it was barely effective. Even Hansen’s Enzui Lariat didn’t stop Graham. Shortly after taking the lariat, Graham would lock Hansen in the Bear Hug and get the Submission victory.
YOUR WINNER: SUPERSTAR BILLY GRAHAM
Match 45
Dory Funk Jr 25 vs Gerald Brisco 18
In a classic match between two men from classic wrestling families, it was Dory Funk Jr who would come out on top. The match featured plenty of ground holds and near submission. The end came when Dory Funk locked Gerald Brisco in the Spinning Toe Hold and Brisco had no choice but to tap out.
YOUR WINNER: DORY FUNK JR.
Match 46
The Rock 39 vs Gory Guerrero 4
The Rock was on fire from the opening bell, electrifying the crowd with all his signature moves. Gory managed some offense here and there even locking The Rock in the Gory Special. However in the end The People’s Champ was too much for Gory and a Rock Bottom put him away.
YOUR WINNER: THE ROCK
Match 47
Lou Thesz 37 vs Magnum TA 6
Much like Art Barr this match forced the wrestling world to once again wonder what might have been. Magnum TA came roaring out of the gates giving a small glimpse on what he might have become, however it did not take long of the legendary Lou Thesz to slow TA down and take control of the match. After the opening bit of offense from TA, which included a nice Belly to Belly Suplex, Lou Thesz would stay in control until the end when he hit the Lou Thesz press for the pinfall.
YOUR WINNER: LOU THESZ
Match 48
Chris Jericho 34 vs Eddie Guerrero 9
In an unfortunate drawing two huge fan favorites were pitted against each other in the first round. Knowing that only one would advance both Guerrero and Jericho pulled out their entire repertoire. Guerrero managed to hit the Frog Splash but Jericho kicked out, while Jericho hit the Lionsault and Guerrero kicked out. In the end Jericho managed to lock Guerrero into the Liontamer but Guerrero refused to tape. Guerrero fought hard to get out of the move but eventually he passed out from the pain.
YOUR WINNER LIONHEART CHRIS JERICHO
Match 49
Fritz Von Erich 6 vs Terry Funk 37
The Elder Von Erich was in tough against Terry Funk. Both men beat the living day lights out of each other. Funk slowly began to take advantage with hard jabs right to Fritz’s face. Fritz with a last ditch effort managed to lock on the Iron Claw but he was too weak to sustain hit. Funk quickly shook off the effects of the Claw and Pildrove the head of the Von Erich family, he followed that up with a moonsault and finally scored the submission victory with the Spinning Toehold
YOUR WINNER: TERRY FUNK
Match 50
Triple H 32 vs Dusty Rhodes 11
The Bionic elbows had little effect as the Game was all over Rhodes from the very beginning. Pulling out all the knee moves he knows the Game slowly and surely wore out Dusty Rhodes allowing him to hit the Pedigree at 10:35 for the pin
YOUR WINNER: THE GAME TRIPLE H

You can definitely tell how long everyone has been a wrestling fan by their choices in this tournament. The fact that Mick Foley has votes against Frank Gotch is hilarious.
Shane Douglas over Pat Patterson? DDP over Buddy Rogers?
There is a serious late-'90s-to-present bias in the voting here. [/RANT]

Um...about your undying loyalty to Frank Gotch...I am willing to bet you have never seen one of his matches. I respect him as a legend that he is, but the fact is the man died in 1917...granted he was the first Champion...but that an only take him so far in my books. I voted on people who have entertained me and/or I respect. Mick Foley has entertained me and given me COUNTLESS hours of enjoyment...Frank Gotch has not.
And I was also one of the people who voted Douglas over Patterson, and the reason is simple. Patterson has retired for over two decades, Douglas is still fresh in my mind....I REALLY enjoyed ECW with the Franchise.
And as for DDP...that was a tough call...I just happen to be a HUGE Diamond Dallas mark.
I didn't start watching in the 90's...I have been watching since birth practically in 1984...so bite down good sir. Bite down.

I'm not criticizing or anything, but it just seems funny that one of the consensus greatest wrestlers of all time is losing to a guy whose best move is the sick bump.
I've never seen a lot of the guys on the list, but I would also pick Walt Chamberlain over LeBron James and Bill Russell over Kobe Bryant. Whether you saw them or not doesn't negate their greatness, imo.
But, again, everyone's entitled to their opinion, I'm just amused by the margin of victory for some wrestlers who would have been destroyed in actual matches.

Being totally honest about this entire thread, I've viewed it with great interest from the start, but have avoided making any posts in it, as I don't feel that I can give valid opinions on about 30% of the wrestlers.
Conscientious, huh?

....
If Bret won it, that would be just as well. Fact is, he's the greatest storyteller in the ring, in the history of the business.
Not just that but add his mat skill, technical ability, psychology, and ability to work with just about anybody and carry them if necessary makes him the man.
Also, cant forget his flawless apllication of every move he makes. Also, take into account how many matches he has done..at times 300 shows a year, with absolutely no record of injury to anyone else while working with them, says it all.

Match 1
Mick Foley 32 vs Frank Gotch 8
It was the legend Frank Gotch vs Mick Foley. This was Foley’s type of match as someone made this a barbed wire death match. Foley would assault Gotch before even the opening bell with a two by four wrapped in Barbed Wire. Gotch would eventually wrestle Foley down to the matt but Foley would manage to roll Gotch hard into the barbed wire. Eventually though at about the 10 minute mark Gotch would just get up and leave, claiming this match was unbefitting of a wrestler like himself. The referee had no choice but to award the match to Mick Foley.
YOUR WINNER: MICK FOLEY
Match 2
Hulk Hogan 28 vs Kerry Von Erich 12
Hogan was in true Hogan form as he just dominated the man formally known as The Texas Tornado, no selling all of Von Erich’s offence including The Claw Hogan would easily take him down with the Big Boot, Leg Drop combo.
YOUR WINNER: HULK HOGAN
Match 3
Chris Benoit 35 vs Brock Lesnar 5
Benoit was in the ring ready for his match against Lesnar when all of a sudden Lesnar appeared on the Video Screen wearing a suit, He began to speak
Lesnar: Benoit, I never wanted to do this job in the first place!
I... I wanted to be...
A LUMBERJACK!
(piano vamp) *he took off his suit to reveal that he was wearing a Red Plaid lumberjack outfit*
Leaping from tree to tree! As they float down the mighty rivers of British Columbia! With my best girl by my side!
The Larch!
The Pine!
The Giant Redwood tree!
The Sequoia!
The Little Whopping Rule Tree!
We'd sing! Sing! Sing!
*He began to sing*
Oh, I'm a lumberjack, and I'm okay,
I sleep all night and I work all day
*The feed cut off at this point*
The ref seeing that awarded the match to Benoit and Lesnar was never seen or heard from again.
YOUR WINNER: CHRIS BENOIT
Match 4
Kurt Angle 40 vs Shane Douglas 0
Douglas walked in got Angle slammed and pinned. That was that.
YOUR WINNER: KURT ANGLE
Match 5
Dory Funk Jr. 8 vs Stu Hart 32
A battle of family icons, Hart vs Funk, what a match it was, pure submission wrestling, neither man wanting to give up. Every hold, every move was executed in this match. The end would see Hart locking in such a brutal choke-like hold that Dory passed out.
YOUR WINNER: STU HART
Match 6
Tiger Mask 24 vs Hayabusa 16
Tiger Mask vs Hayabusa, another Japanese legendary match-up. These two masked superstars went at each other like crazy, Hayabusa hit many a moonsaults on this evening but none of them were enough, not even the Phoenix splash would put down Tiger Mask on this evening as seconds after kicking out of that he’d hit the Tiger Suplex for the 3 count.
YOUR WINNER: TIGER MASK
Match 7
The Rock 38 vs Don Muraco 2
This was a true passing of the torch as The Rock defeated Don Muraco in this the Rock vs Rock match. The Rock dominated this match-up from the get go electrifying the crowd with his punches and charisma. He’d hit the Rock bottom but Muraco would kick out, he’d hit it again but Muraco would kick out, it would only be after a third Rock Bottom that Rocky would finally get the pin and the win.
YOUR WINNER: THE ROCK
Match 8
Dean Malenko 22 vs Lance Storm 18
The crowd chanted EC-DUB throughout this match as both men put on a 2 man spectacle absolutely blowing the crowd away with submission hold reversals so unique that we’ll probably never see them performed again. The end would come with Malenko rolling through Storm’s Rolling Half Crab and locking in the Texas Cloverleaf for the submission victory.
YOUR WINNER: DEAN MALENKO
Match 9
William Regal 4 vs Shawn Michaels 36
Regal fought hard but HBK was all over him, high octane, high flying offence. Regal just couldn’t ground HBK in this match and as a result he would fall to the Sweet Chin Music.
YOUR WINNER: SHAWN MICHAELS
Match 10
Killer Kowalski 13 vs Freddie Blassie 27
It was Classie Blassie vs Killer Kowalski in a true legendary match up. Kowalski would come on strong trying to end the match early with the Claw but in the end after a referee distraction, Blassie would grab his cane, and as Killer locked on the claw again, wallop him over the head and steal the pin.
YOUR WINNER: FREDDIE BLASSIE
Match 11
The Undertaker 35 vs The Sheik 5
UT was feeling supernatural again as nothing the Sheik threw at him stuck. Basic UT formula followed and UT got the pin with the Tombstone.
YOUR WINNER: THE UNDERTAKER
Match 12
Steve Austin 32 vs Diamond Dallas Page 8
It was the battle of Ace Crusher variant finishers, Stunner vs Diamond Cutter, DDP vs Stone Cold. I was a hellacious battle as these two former world champions went at each other. DDP would in the end go for the Diamond Cutter only to be pushed off into the ropes kicked in the mid-section and then Stunned. Austin would get the pin and the victory.
YOUR WINNER: STONE COLD STEVE AUSTIN
Match 13
Jushin Liger 12 vs Owen Hart 28
A battle for the ages this match was, Hart vs Liger a battle not seen since the early 90s. Both men were in tip-top shape as this match was everywhere. High Flying galore and a few submission holds too courtesy of the King of Harts. The end came with Owen reversing a Liger bomb into a Hurricanrana and then locking in the Sharpshooter for the win
YOUR WINNER: OWEN HART
Match 14
Raven 16 vs Randy Savage 24
This match was once again fought under Raven’s rules. Raven tried to take the advantage much like he did against Dynamite in the first round but this time it would not be enough. Savage was a pure force in the ring, kicking out of the drop toehold on the chair and even the Evenflow. The end would come with Savage body slamming Raven hard on a steel chair then going up tope and nailing the Flying Elbow Drop for the 3 count.
YOUR WINNER: RANDY SAVAGE
Match 15
Jake Roberts 20 vs Arn Anderson 20
In the first draw of the tournament, both men ended up pinning each other after a brutal battle. This match saw 4 DDTs, two from each man and 3 Spinebusters, none of the moves resulting in a pinfall. The end came with a superplex attempt by Anderson, both men hit the mat hard and landed with their arms covering each other. The Ref had no choice but to count three. The highly attractive Federation President Lara ruled that both men would advance to the next round.
YOUR WINNER: DRAW
Match 16
Jimmy Snuka 23 vs Lou Thesz 17
It was Snuka vs Thesz. Old school vs Older School. Both men tore up the place with reversal wrestling, Thesz looked to have the advantage early on by grounding Superfly but he would not be able to hold him down for long and Superfly exploded with a headscissors and multiple flying clotheslines. Snuka from that point on had the advantage and never looked back, he would score the pinfall with the devastating Vincent K McMahon Roll Up of Complete and Utter Doom for the 3 count.
YOUR WINNER: JIMMY SNUKA
Match 17
Jesse Ventura 13 vs Terry Funk 27
Funk vs The Body. It was a back and forth match, Jesse even locked in his Over the Shoulder Backbreaker but Funk managed to squirm out of it. Not to be outdone however Jesse Ventura would later on kick out of the Funk Moonsault. Just when it looked like this match would never end as both men kept kicking out at two Funk hit the Piledriver out of nowhere and scored the fall.
YOUR WINNER: TERRY FUNK
Match 18
Rick Rude 18 vs British Bulldog Davey Boy Smith 22
In a classic 80s style WWF match the Bulldog took on The Ravishing one. In a toe to toe fight Rude would get the upper hand in the early going with heelish tactics like low blows and eye rakes. But the bulldog quickly roared back with a press slam and a huge elbow drop, however Rick Rude would kick out at two. The end came with Rude hitting the Rude Awakening only to start to show off to the Ladies in the crowd. This allowed the bulldog to recover and when Rude turned around Bulldog was right there to pick him up and nail the running powerslam for the pinfall victory.
YOUR WINNER: BRITISH BULLDOG DAVEY BOY SMITH
Match 19
Jerry Lynn 7 vs Ric Flair 33
It was The Nature Boy vs The New F’N Show in this classical match-up. Lynn came very close a few times to pulling off the upset victory, even nailing his Cradle Piledriver. However at every turn Flair would kick out and by the midway point the momentum was all in favour of Flair. At 15:35 Flair would lock on the Figure Four Leg Lock and Lynn trapped in the middle of the ring would have no choice but to tap.
YOUR WINNER: RIC FLAIR
Match 20
Ivan Koloff 3 vs Chris Jericho 37
All Jericho in this match as his speed was just too much for the Russian. Missile drop kicks, moonsaults, all of it just wore out Koloff and before he knew it he was locked into the Liontamer and was tapping out.
YOUR WINNER: CHRIS JERICHO
Match 21
Andre the Giant 18 vs Roddy Piper 22
This was a battle of David of Goliathian proportions. Andre took the early advantage and absolutely dominated The Hot Rod. It looked like Andre would take this match easily but a costly missed elbow changed the entire dynamics of the match. With Andre grounded, Piper began to just throw lefts and rights at his face, Piper had snapped, the assault was long and brutal and by the time the referee finally got Piper off Andre (by threatening a disqualification) Andre was a bloody mess. Amazingly he managed to get to his feet but he was nearly unconscious. Piper seeing this jumped on Andre’s back and applied the Sleeper. Andre tried to fight but the blood loss was just too much and eventually he passed out.
YOUR WINNER: RODDY PIPER
Match 22
Billy Graham 2 vs Curt Hennig 38
Billy Graham looked off in this match, we are not sure at this time if it was an injury from the previous match or something else, but Hennig dominated the entire match and scored the quick win at just 5:30 with the Perfectplex.
YOUR WINNER: CURT HENNIG
Match 23
Taz 18 vs Brian Pillman 22
Another EC-DUB chant roared as The Human Suplex Machine took on The Loose Cannon Brian Pillman. Taz in the early on threw suplex after suplex at Pillman but amazingly 9 times out of 10 Pillman would land on his feet. Frustrated Taz attempted to lock on the Tazmission only to see Pillman flip up and reverse it into a go behind and then a victory roll for the 3.
YOUR WINNER: BRIAN PILLMAN
Match 24
Triple H 6 vs Bret Hart 34
In what looked like a repeat of Hart’s opening match. He immediately hit the 5 moves of doom and scored the submission. After the match the entire current WWE locker room, sans Shawn Michaels hit the ring and proceeded to beat the crap out of Triple H while Bret smiled and exited the ring.
YOUR WINNER: BRET HART
Match 25
Iron Sheik 5 vs Ricky Steamboat 35
Much like Jericho, Steamboat used his speed and finesse to dominate the match. He never let the Iron Sheik get near him; he ducked every clothesline, rolled away from every grapple and eventually scored the victory with the Top Rope Highcross Body.
YOUR WINNER: RICKY STEAMBOAT

Total votes = 40
Purple = Winner
Red = Tie
Match 1
Bret Hart 36 vs Freddie Blassie 4
Bret Hart dominated much of the match but when a ref bump occurred Blassie reached for his cane. Bret however was one step ahead of him as he stole the cane from Blassie and decked him across the head, one Sharpshooter later and the match was over
YOUR WINNER: BRET HART
Match 2
Terry Funk 11 vs Curt Hennig 29
The rugged brawling offence of Terry Funk was no match for Hennig’s dissection offence. Hennig was all over Funk from the bell and it would be a quick Perfectplex at 5:35 that would get him the win.
YOUR WINNER: CURT HENNIG
Match 3
Shawn Michaels 31 vs Brian Pillman 9
Pillman fought hard, hitting Air Pillman in the first minute of action, however it would not be enough to defeat the Heartbreak Kid. The end of this match saw Pillman climb to the top rope to attempt a moonsault body attack only for HBK to hit him with Sweet Chin Music while he was still in mid-air, upside down as well. An easy 3 count followed and the match was over.
YOUR WINNER: SHAWN MICHAELS
Match 4
Kurt Angle 40 vs Tiger Mask 0
Tiger Mask fell quickly and fell hard, as Angle would nail the Angle Slam in the first 30 seconds of action and score the submission victory with the Ankle Lock.
YOUR WINNER: KURT ANGLE
Match 5
Arn Anderson 5 vs Chris Benoit 36
It was the battle of the Horsemen. Benoit vs Arn, the Crippler vs The Enforcer. One would advance one would not, and the man to advance was Chris Benoit. In the best match of the night both men went at each other like only two men who know each so well could. Both men seemed one step ahead of the other’s offence and it was only in a quick out of nowhere reversal of Anderson’s Spinebuster into Benoit’s crossface that the victory would occur. Both men hugged after the match.
YOUR WINNER: CHRIS BENOIT
Match 6
Chris Jericho 31 vs Jake Roberts 9
Jericho dominated Jake Roberts from the early bell, as Jake just looked tired. Jericho would get hit by the DDT but would amazingly easily kick out at 1 and shortly there after he would end the match with the Lionsault.
YOUR WINNER: CHRIS JERICHO
Match 7
Ricky Steamboat 19 vs The Undertaker 21
Steamboat would try everything to stop the seemingly unstoppable Undertaker, but like every man before him nothing would work. Dropkicks, headscissors, DDTs, not even the Top High Cross-Body would work. In fact, it would be in attempting that High Cross-Body that the Dragon would fall, as the Undertaker would catch him, spin him and Tombstone him for the 3 count.
YOUR WINNER: THE UNDERTAKER
Match 8
Steve Austin 20 vs Stu Hart 20
Austin vs The Elder Hart, a mix match of generations, neither man would ever get the upper hand in this match, as Hart was little match for Austin’s modern brawling techniques whereas Austin was no match for Hart’s legendary grappling techniques. In the end these two would fight to an astounding 60 minute draw, even a subsequent 15 minute overtime would solve nothing. The match was awarded to both men and as a result both men advanced.
YOUR WINNER: DRAW
Match 9
Mick Foley 26 vs Roddy Piper 14
It would be the end of Piper’s run in this great tournament, as The Hardcore Legend would take it to him. This match was a pure brawl as both men went all over the arena. The referee unsure of what to do, just let these men go, by the end of it, both Foley and Piper were bleeding profusely. The end saw both men finally in the ring exhausted and both near unconsciousness, Foley in a last ditch effort would somehow manage to lock in the Mandible Claw and send Piper into unconsciousness. The ref called for the bell and awarded Foley the match.
YOUR WINNER: MICK FOLEY
Match 10
Hulk Hogan 21 vs Jimmy Snuka 19
It was the battle of the 80s, Superfly vs the Hulkster. Both men would get in a fair amount of offence, with neither man really getting an advantage. It was one of those first man to make a mistakes loses type match and in the end it was Snuka who made the mistake. Snuka believing he had Hogan down, went upstairs and attempted the Snuka Splash, Hogan however would role out of the way and Snuka would hit the mat face first, one Hogan Leg drop to the back of Snuka’s head later and Hogan scored the pin.
YOUR WINNER: HULK HOGAN
Match 11
Dean Malenko 8 vs Ric Flair 32
In another great technical wrestling match, both men pulled out all the stops. Malenko looked to have the match won, not once but twice with the Texas Cloverleaf right in the middle of the ring, however both times Flair would crawl his way to the ropes. In the end Flair’s decades of technical expertise would be too much for Malenko as he would submit to the Figure Four.
YOUR WINNER: RIC FLAIR
Match 12
Owen Hart 27 vs Randy Savage 13
Savage would start the match with the early advantage as he would connect with vicious lefts and rights. However, Owen would fire back with a barrage of arial moves, some of which just cannot be described, after that flurry Owen would never look back and he’d score the victory with the Sharpshooter.
YOUR WINNER: OWEN HART
Match 13
British Bulldog Davey Boy Smith 14 vs The Rock 26
Davey Boy would dominate the early moments of the match with his superior strength, going as far as to Press Slam The Rock over the top rope. However the Most Electrifying Man in Sports Entertainment today would not be denied, much like the previous match, The Rock would mount an amazing comeback and would eventually win the match with 3 straight Rock Bottoms.
YOUR WINNER: THE ROCK

I say this because Kurt Angle elevated himself to the main event in such a short period of time. Well, maybe the company elevated him, but that much is irrelevant because the faith in him obviously paid off. He is a five-star performer in the ring, on the mic and personality-wise. He is also fucking hilarious, and serious when he wants to be. Kurt Angle is absolutely perfect.
Ric Flair is all these things and more too, and he led the NWA. He would sell out arenas and shit, but he is slightly before my time. As successful as he was in his day, he still does the same moves to this day... He's a legend, yes, a classic, but he's a legend in the present, which isn't always so exciting.
Match 2
Shawn Michaels vs Chris Benoit - Shawn Michaels
This could be due to outshining, but Michaels would take this one by a nose in my opinion. Michaels has accomplished quite a bit in his career, and he brought alot of new concepts and charisma to the ring in his time. He is also living proof that little guys can make it in the main event, not that Chris Benoit isn't. Benoit is ALMOST on par with Bret Hart himself as far as in-ring work, as marginal a measurement as that could arguably be. Benoit also has a ruthless style, Dynamite Kid with a hint of total aggression and tenacity. I'm not sure how fair it is, since Benoit is even currently being terribly misused as the top wrestler in the company (as far as his push goes, or being over other guys when it comes to "wrestler strength" and position on the food chain). But for whatever reason, Michaels has had a greater impact on the company. I'd also add in that Shawn Michaels took a pretty big amount of heat at Backlash, and didn't allow it to effect his performance at all. He can still put on great matches, and unfortunately it looks like he'll be out of the equation... Just when he stopped fighting Triple H every fucking night. Oh well.
Match 3
Bret Hart vs The Rock - The Rock
This is nearly impossible for me. Bret Hart was absolutely perfect in the ring. No one really comes close. He executed everything with such grace and skill, never injured anyone, and is without a doubt the greatest wrestler when it comes to ring work in my opinion. There will never be anyone better. He wasn't a flop on the mic either, and he was a classic babyface in his prime. He epitomized what a wrestler should have been in his time.
However, The Rock was thrown into the mix with a terrible babykissing gimmick, an ugly look and really came off like a tool in the shitty underdog gimmick they gave him. When the fans turned on him for his boring/goody good attitude, he was given the freedom to take the emotion of resentment for the "Die, Rocky, Die" chants and express himself and become amazingly over as a heel. It was only a matter of time and practice that he became without a doubt, the greatest mic-worker ever. There are dozens of guys who can out-wrestle him, but he still brings a high amount of energy into the ring, and he sets fans on fire with a simple gesture. His appearances on RAW dramatically effecting the ratings, even though he isn't full time, proves that he is the man right now. It's too bad he's so busy, he could be the flagship of that company, and they need it right now.
So it's tough to go with my two favorites ever. Everyone is pretty much loyal to Bret Hart, and for good reason. However, my vote is going with The Rock, the man is the greatest. And he's still going. As much as I love Bret, I don't think he could carry a company like The Rock could if the need arised. I'm also slightly jaded on the possibility that Bret, much like his brother was martyred into some of his glory. (Notice the word, some)
Match 4
The Undertaker vs Chris Jericho - Undertaker
Chris Jericho, to me, is one of the most overrated wrestlers. I'm not saying he isn't a great wrestler worthy of a lot of praise, but I really don't see him breaking the sort of molds The Undertaker has in his career. Overrated, yet underappreciated, an odd paradox if you think about it. (Before I get replies from the numerous Jericho fans, please save it, I am still going to think he's overrated.)
Match 5
Owen Hart vs Hulk Hogan - Hulk Hogan
As much as I love Owen... Owen Hart was a jobber, God rest his soul. He was great, untapped potential... But he was still just that, untapped. His skills in the ring were amazing, but I don't even see how people compare the two. Perhaps too many mistake his tragic death as a reason to even put him on the same level as Hulk Hogan. It isn't about ring work in this one. Hulk Hogan was infallible back in the day. Owen Hart didn't even come close to making the sort of impact on wrestling Hogan did.
Match 6
Curt Hennig vs Stu Hart - Stu Hart
I love you Stu, but I really don't know much about you other than the fact that you trained some of the greatest technical wrestlers the world has seen. But that alone is enough for me. Sending guys like Bret, Owen and Benoit to the table are probably just a fraction of what he's done for the business. RIP Curt Hennig, you were a midcarder though.
Match 7
Mick Foley vs Steve Austin - Steve Austin
Foley is great and all, and I'm glad the WWE gave Foley his time in the main event and gave him the title a few times. Some guys who deserve it just like Mick aren't as fortunate. But Steve Austin lit a fire under the WWE's ass. Austin is revolutionary, like the biggest draw ever, and gave new life to the WWE. No comparison.

Honestly, the rest is pointless. Bret Hart is going to landslide the entire thing. May as well narrow down the last match to a 7-way.

Total Votes = 44
Winner = Purple
Tie = Red
Match 1
Kurt Angle 22 vs Ric Flair 22
In a classic battle between two people who besides being great wrestlers also seem to love the sound WHOOOOOOOOO. These two men fought long and hard but much like the first encounter between Flair and Sting neither man could finish off the other and as a result the matched ended in a 40 minute time limit draw.
YOUR WINNER: DRAW
Match 2
Shawn Michaels 30 vs Chris Benoit 14
Spoilers for the Great American Bash inside so highlight for the match details.
Michaels was on top from the opening bell, showing Benoit why he’s called him the Showstopper. HBK dominated the early going evening locking in his own version of the Crippler Crossface. Benoit would fight back but just when it seemed Benoit was going to take this match, an announcement that JBL had beaten Eddie Guerrero for the WWE title. A livid Benoit left the ring and marched off, to do what? No one knows. The referee made the obligatory 10 count and awarded the match to HBK
YOUR WINNER: SHAWN MICHAELS
Match 3
Bret Hart 34 vs The Rock 10
It was a battle between two great champions. The rock started off strong hitting a nice spinning DDT but Bret Hart would eventually take down the Hollywood star with his superior technical abilities. The end would see Bret Hart literally laugh off the Rock’s version of the sharpshooter and lock on his own to get the submission win.
YOUR WINNER: BRET HART
Match 4
The Undertaker 14 vs Chris Jericho 30
The supernatural powers of the Undertaker were no match for the power in numbers of Jericho’s fans. Though it seemed that UT would win this match easily, a ref bump would be his downfall. Every last one of Jericho’s internet allies stormed the ring and proceeded to beat The Undertaker into unconsciousness. The fans just as quickly as they came ran off before the referee came to. When he did, Jericho did his patented Come on Baby one foot pin and got the win
YOUR WINNER: CHRIS JERICHO
Match 5
Owen Hart 24 vs Hulk Hogan 20
Owen Hart dominated the Immortal one with technical skills, he absolutely dissected him. Hogan did manage towards the end to make it close but he would miss the leg drop, giving Owen the perfect chance to lock in the Sharpshooter and pick up the win
YOUR WINNER: OWEN HART
Match 6Curt Hennig 28 vs Stu Hart 16
It would not be another Hart 3 peat as Stu Hart would fall to the man who can only be called Perfect. Perfect would fight out of the many painful holds of Stu Hart and score the pinfall victory with the Perfectplex.
YOUR WINNER: CURT HENNIG
Match 7
Mick Foley 20 vs Steve Austin 24
Foley vs Austin, a classic late 90s match up. Foley would throw every hardcore trick he knew at Austin but Austin just kept coming, nothing Foley could muster seemed to work, Austin just sat back and waited for Foley to make a mistake and he did at 13:56 attempting to kick Austin in the gut he instead got spun around and Stunned, Austin made the cover and got the win
YOUR WINNER: STEVE AUSTIN
