John Cena and Red Dog (sp?)

What was that all about? Wasn't watching wrestling at the time...

Basically this pair lasted for like a week or two before Redd Dogg moved to RAW and became Rodney Mack. John Cena and Bull Bucanon had lost a tag match and Cena got pissed at Bull and slapped him. Bull got pissed and grabbed Cena like he was going to hurt him. Redd Dogg hit the ring and took out Bull. Then Cena did a rap about how Redd Dogg was the new man with him and Bull was finished. Redd Dogg left for Raw after that and Cena's heel career kicked ass afterwards. That's it.

Do you think an alliance with Redd Dogg would've worked?

You know, I was all for the tag team. I hated Bull Bucannon as he didn't fit the part at all as a ganster. But it was more of a comedy gimmick with him. When Redd Dogg came in, they were a good match as a tag team. They had the "thug" gimmick working for them.


But, I am so thankful that the WWE dropped that whole thing and let Cena be on his own because Cena's heel gimmick was one of the best gimicks of ALL-TIME IMO. He played the part perfectly and was the was one of the brightest spots of Smackdown.

Makes sense as Rodney Mack was called Redd Dogg during his stint in OVW. PMSL at the stupid chain he used to carry around.
