BTR just said TNA may bring in Dennis Rodman.

My question is: Why?

Publicity I would assume, but I don't see that dude getting much exposure any more anyway. Maybe this is his way of getting back into headlines or something, but he has wrestled (" ") it before so it wouldn't be like it's new.

Dunno. :-\

He's a big name so he might attract non-fans, and people who remember his run in WCW may tune in to get a nostalgia kick.

WCW did it and they were a successful wrestling company with prime time TV slots...

He's a name.

Now, do people care about him enough to pay $10 to see him, or to bother watching Impact? Probably not. But I cant see Rodman costing too much to bring in, so its a safe gamble.

I think the idea is to program him with Johnny Fairplay, whose 15 minutes of fame ended within the last few months (unlike Rodman). So perhaps they feel that Fairplay's name will garner some interest, and if they hear Rodman's name attached to that, they might get some publicity.

I doubt it will work, but neither will Jeff jarret vs Ron Killings, so its not like they have a ton of options.

Is it just me, or is TNA turning into WCW junior?

I can't fall into the Dave Meltzer "I thought they were turning into WCW until I read Bryan Alvarez's WCW book" thought of mind. WCW was always run by idiots and marks. WWE know better and they have an example of a pissy company to follow (which they bought) and they are still going down sh</>it creak without a paddle.

Whats really sad is that this has been going on since what Mania in Houston? I mean people were saying then that they were headed for disaster. Yet they still haven't been able to stop the bleeding nevermind turn things around.
