This morning Giants head coach Tom Coughlin named Kurt Warner his starting quarterback. Warner beat out the Giants #1 draft choice Eli Manning for the job during an intense quarterback competition this summer. Stay logged on to Giants.com for more on this breaking story!

This was pretty much a given no matter what. If Warner starts to suck it up look for Eli to get tossed in though.

Gee Gonzo I never looked at it that way

Lol @ Miz  I was thinking the same thing
Also, the Giants are fucked no matter which way you look at it, Shockey better have a good year fantasy wise though damnit

The Giants O-Line needs to get their shit together. I went to the Jets/Giants preseason game Friday night and Eli was running for his life the whole night.
First time he looked like a rookie, the blocking was horrible.
Being a true Giants fan, it pains me to say this, but Shockey is shitty for fantasy teams. He is a great player, but he doesn't score enough to even warrant being on a team.

LOL what are you talking about
Behind Heap and Gonzalez, he's the best fantasy TE in the league

He has scored 4 touchdown's in two years.
Unless you get a shitload of points for receptions he isn't going to be a huge improvement over anyone else.

How many TE score a lot of TDs tho?

And on top of that, I guess his 900 yards in 2002 were shitty compared to every other TE

Like the Dogg said, he is easilly the third best tight end because he can catch the ball

I said he doesn't score a lot, I didn't knock his yardage or receptions. Shit, I'm not going to knock my own team.
Tony G had 10 TD's last year, only 3 other guys had more, all WR"s.

Okay, and did you not see the part where I said Tony Gonzalez and Todd Heap are better fantasy TEs than him? Other than, say, them and Boo Williams, name one TE who had more than like 3 TDs last year

If you count TE's that had exactly 3 TD's, 16 TE's had 3 or more.
Not including the TE's with only 3, 8 TE's had 4 TD's or more.

Good job taking him literally

Who do you say I should have taken then, considering there were three or four tight ends chosen ahead of him

And guess what? Shockey played 9 games last season. And he still had (since we're being technical) the 5th-most receptions of any TE (and only 1 shy of the next highest) and the 6th-most yards. If he stays healthy he will perform better than any TE except Gonzalez, and maybe Heap.

It was funny watching I, Max last night and watching Michael Holley trying to argue Tory Holt and Marvin Harrison over Randy Moss, fantasy wise.

I certainly hope he can get back to 100%.
He hasn't played in preseason yet, which is fine by me, so he can heal up.
Our offense needs him right now, for him to go down would be a HUGE blow.

Yeah definitely.. that's the one thing I would say that keeps him from being one of the "elite" tight ends in the league. If he can stay healthy, he's a huge weapon.

I think a little longer, but I don't know. :?:
I love the way Shockey plays, he just brings an attitude to the team that we really need. When he is out there playing he becomes a leader, he just excites everyone around him.
I love his cockiness. It just makes me love the guy that much more.
