I'm interested.

I believe that it's that wrestlers (And all staff, I guess) are supposed to come to the arena in a shirt, tie, and slacks, to look "presentable", at all shows now, including house shows... From what I've gathered, they used to only wear it to TV tapings and PPVs, but they have just started cracking down on it now...

Or Dwayne Johnson, although I do see why Rock shouldnt have to, he's not really current tallent, just there for suprise appearences...

Vince needs money.

Its to try and establish the business side of the company. To give it a more overall professional look. Most talen t though have either flouted it or complained. especially after Cena was allowed to do as he pleases as it considered to ruin his character otherwise. Bottom line Vince is trying to boost the outside image of the company

I'd be trying to boost ratings if I was Vince and not worry about the outside image. Back to the topic, I can't imagine some of those wrestlers in a suit and tie.

Just imagine, Jeff Hardy in a Shirt and Tie...if we were still with the WWE...

Imagine Austin in a shirt and tie if he was still there.

Yeah, I don't get this whole ruining image thing.

They CAN simply change clothes for TV...it's not like they have to stay in charecter 24/7.

But yeah, seems like bullshit anyway. These guys don't hold desk jobs.

So Viscera has to wear a suit and tie? Sweet

Naked Mideon should complain.

I can see why Cena would complain, though. Does he still get challenges to freestyle with his fans? If so, it would be weird seeing him freestyle while wearing a nice three-piece suit. The whole "Will Smith" thing would be far too pronounced.

And Undertaker wearing a shirt and tie? That WOULD damage the Texas Taker image. What about Hogan? Even in court he wore a T-Shirt.

Undertaker is also someone that doesnt have to but i believe its because of how long hes been with the company, but also because of his gimmik

I think it's just seniority; dead guys are always dressed up.

This is the point Vince is so desperate to take wrestling back to its Kayfabe era that he wants wrestlers to stay in character. Especially the top ones

Imagine Austin in a shirt and tie if he was still there.

You obviously missed the Corporate Austin of 1998, although that lasted all of one show

Along with everything that has been said, its basically a deal where they think that the wrestlers should look classy, like they all have money. So that way when fans see them out in public, or coming to the arenas they will think they are worth paying money to see.

I've heard Cena is the only one that doesn't have to abide by the code.

The Naitch

Basically the WWE is trying to be like the NHL, NBA and all other major sports organizations by having their "atheletes" look like "atheletes" instead of "wrestlers"

Thats right. Vince gave him "special" permission as it was deemed thta it would hurt the character image if he was suited and tied

But it wouldn't hurt Kane's image?

I think Cena just has his nose way up Vince's ass!

The only people it is GOOD for are Evolution. (Hey, HHH probably had Steph ask Daddy to make this rule just for him).
