I got some mad good games on TV this week.

Arizona/ATL
SD/Denver
Colts/Pack

Plus, the ESPN Sunday Night game (TB/Oak) and the MNF game (Skins/Cahhhhbwoys)

Discuss.

Giants Browns 1 O'Clock CBS in the Meadowlands. All that needs to be said really. Giants are actually favored by like 2 1/2 last time I checked, but I don't think they are going to win. Jeff Garcia will probably whore up the fucking run for the win on a QB scramble cause he is a dick.

Monday Night's game is going to be awful. Does any of the media actually give a shit about the TEAMS playing, and not just the coaches? For fuck's sake, any time anybody mentions Dallas all they talk about is Parcells this and Parcells that. Same with Washington and Gibbs... fucking hell.

Anyways, Lions have their first 'real' test of the season playing the Eagles today. I don't expect a win or anything, but if they don't get blown out at least or anything I'll be happy. TO is going to carve them up, since Bly and Goodman are both out. Week 5 couldn't come any sooner.

I agree RDD, everyyear we get a skin's v. boy's game, if we want it or not. I remeber a couple of seasons ago when both teams sucked. Al Micheals kept on showing vintage games as instant replays. That was a riot. Sure, people in DC and Big D love the game, but it leave out most of the rest of us who look for MNF to be the premier match up. IMO it's just lazy ass scheduling.

Bengals play the Ravens today. They could win if they hold Lewis to around 100 yards and shut off the pass which will be easier with Heap injured. Its gonna be tough for the Bengals O to move though because Rudi hasn't been that impressive this year. But we'll see

road doggy dogg
09-26-2004, 01:18 PM
Yeah basically the Bengals should just plya run every play since Baltimore has zero passing attack at all with Heap out

Dallas is still a contender... and for some reason people are going crazy about Washington's playoff chances. So the scheduling could be worse. Vinny on Monday Night should be good times too.

All-time, yes Montana is probably better than Favre. I would still rank Favre as one of the top 5 ever though.

And Brady doesn't have the same type of impact on his team that Favre has had over the years. Yeah the past 2-3 years the Packers have been more of a running team, with Ahman Green, but all through the 90s the team has revolved around Favre. Brady's good, but he isn't to the Patriots as Favre is to the Packers. The Pats don't win because of Brady alone, much like the Packers and Favre do.

Eagles > Seattle

Today, the Eagles STOMPED the 2-0 Lions.... 30-13. While Seattle beat (and destroyed) a team in San Francisco that any of the TOP COLLEGE TEAMS could kick the shit out of.

I know everyone here besides us Eagles fans (me and WORDLIFEMUTHA) are hating on us because the Eagles have been the Most Winningest Team Since the Year 2000 and are finally that DOMINATE team that they have never been before.

Donovan McNabb: 8 TD Passes, 2 Rushing TDs.... ZERO INTs

Terrell Owens: 18 REC, 254 Yards, 5 (COUNT THEM... FIVE) TDs!
*** thats 5 TD REC in 3 GAMES ***

TO opens everything up for the Eagles offense, McNabb hit 8 Different Receivers today for over 350 yards, 2 TDs and scores more points than they were averaging.

Game 1 vs NYG: 31 Points
Game 2 vs MIN: 29 Points
Game 3 vs DET: 30 Points

Points Against:

Game 1 vs NYG: 17 Points
Game 2 vs MIN: 16 Points
Game 3 vs DET: 13 Points

THAT IS WHAT A WINNER IS ALL ABOUT!!!!!!!

This isn't about the past 3 years. This is about the Philadelphia Eagles being 3-0 for the first time since 1993, having the most explosive OFFENSE ever and their DEFENSE has been re-tooled, re-built, and is a WELL OILED MACHINE which TERRORIZES opposing offenses.

Other Notes:

- Brett Favre is an amazing quarterback. When you say "one of the best ever", how many QBs are included in "one of the best"? 5? 10? Make a list and put Favre on it and then we'll judge.
Unitas? Bradshaw? Starr? Namath? Aikman? Montana? Marino? etc

Final Note:

Get off of the "past 3 years". You can't replay yesterday as much I wish we could. But the fact is that the Eagles have been an incredible team this century and they are NOT going anywhere soon. McNabb, Westbrook, Smith, Owens, Pinkston, Lewis, Thomas, Runyan, Mayberry, Kearse, Douglas, Simon, Trotter, Simoneau, Wayne, Dawkins, M. Lewis, Sheppard, Brown, Akers. This is a TEAM. The BEST TEAM IN THE NFC and maybe.... the N.....F.....L!!!!!!!!!

Eagles > Seattle

Today, the Eagles STOMPED the 2-0 Lions.... 30-13. While Seattle beat (and destroyed) a team in San Francisco that any of the TOP COLLEGE TEAMS could kick the shit out of.

Wow, Philly beat a shitty team and Seattle beat a shitty team. Your point? Both teams were heavily favored to win, so it means nothing. Detroit is only 2-0 because they had a very easy first two games, and they barely even won those.

I know everyone here besides us Eagles fans (me and WORDLIFEMUTHA) are hating on us because the Eagles have been the Most Winningest Team Since the Year 2000 and are finally that DOMINATE team that they have never been before.

No, people hate you because you are arrogant and retarded. The Eagles themselves are just a team, and yes they're good. Their fans (you and "WORDLIFEMUTHA" included) are awful, and disgrace everything sports stands for. The Eagles aren't even the best team in the league (or NFC), but you guys are acting like Jesus is their quarterback (although McNabb comes close <3)

Donovan McNabb: 8 TD Passes, 2 Rushing TDs.... ZERO INTs

Terrell Owens: 18 REC, 254 Yards, 5 (COUNT THEM... FIVE) TDs!
*** thats 5 TD REC in 3 GAMES ***

Roy Williams has 4 TD catches, but guess what? He isn't an arrogant idiot with an ego problem. Daniel Graham has 3 TD catches and you don't see him jerking himself all over the media. TO is doing fine, but again look at the teams they've played. Giants? Please. Vikings? Yeah they're good, but their secondary is awful. Detroit? God don't even try that... even WITH Bly and Goodman they are awful. Wait till they play a team like NE or Carolina, and see how well TO does.

TO opens everything up for the Eagles offense, McNabb hit 8 Different Receivers today for over 350 yards, 2 TDs and scores more points than they were averaging.

They were playing Detroit.

"scores more points than they were averaging"

That doesn't even make sense.

Game 1 vs NYG: 31 Points
Game 2 vs MIN: 29 Points
Game 3 vs DET: 30 Points

Points Against:

Game 1 vs NYG: 17 Points
Game 2 vs MIN: 16 Points

A winner scores more points than they allow... excuse the over-used quote, but, thank you John Madden.

Really. If it isn't about the past 3 years then why do you keep bringing it up? Them being 3-0 for the first time in TEN YEARS says more about their inconsistancy than their dominance. Their offense isn't the most explosive ever. Watch the GB/Indy game today? Take a seat. Their defense is good, but Detroit didn't look very terrorized today. You probably don't watch a lot of Lions games, but they look that bad EVERY game. In fact, Roy Williams went to the middle of the field and made a few great catches today. Yeah, real scared.

Other Notes:

- Brett Favre is an amazing quarterback. When you say "one of the best ever", how many QBs are included in "one of the best"? 5? 10? Make a list and put Favre on it and then we'll judge.
Unitas? Bradshaw? Starr? Namath? Aikman? Montana? Marino? etc

Favre is one of the top 5 QBs of all time. Agree or disagree?

Final Note:

Get off of the "past 3 years". You can't replay yesterday as much I wish we could. But the fact is that the Eagles have been an incredible team this century and they are NOT going anywhere soon. You make it sound like the Lions are good or something. They could be a 500 team this year, but the playoffs are pretty much out of reach for them.

I heard that what is most likely now is that Ricky Williams goes into free agency after this season. That sucks, I've always loved the Dolphins and I always liked Williams. I want them to be cool/good.

IMO, Favre has never had elite teams around him. None of his recievers are bad, but guys like Donald Driver aren't Issac Bruce or Marvin Harrisons. He has always managed to win throughout his career and he is a great competitor. Not many quarterbacks will get up in the face of a d-lineman. Like RDD said, he just knows how to win. His supporting cast is always good, but I don't think they would have won a Superbowl without him. IMO if he was on the Rams for the past six years they would have won another Superbowl at least.

Tom Brady is IMO the newcoming of Brett Favre. Neither of them are the most technically efficient quarterbacks, but they are smart guys and they know what they have to do to win a game in the clutch.

I think it was Mike Scocia who said this about baseball "Everybody in baseball knows that Derek Jeter is the best player on the Yankees, Jason Varitek is the best player on Boston, and Darin Erstad for us." Its the same way for football, there is more to a game than statistics, and Brett Favre and Tom Brady are the current examples of that in the NFL. Peyton Manning is the exact opposite, he is probably the most technically accurate quarterback in the league, but he hasn't show that he can win yet. I like him and hope that he someday can win it all, but Favre and Brady are on a different level.

Thanks for making my EGO so much bigger than it was.

Brett Favre:

NOT in the Top 5. I named 5 QBs better than Favre in my rant.

1) Montana
2) Marino
3) Bradshaw
4) Unitas
5) Starr

GB/IND game:

The Eagles defense wouldn't allow the other team to walk all over them like both defenses in that game did. There would be no need to have a shootout. Once we hit 30 points today, we put the cruise control on and get the win.

TO:

Has anyone heard of TO being a problem this year? Big Ego? His has such a big ego that after the first day of Training Camp in Lehigh, TO took his pads off and walked over to the crowd and signed autographs for about 45 minutes. If he had such a big ego, he'd ignored everyone and head straight for the lockerroom.

Our Opposing Defenses:

Since everyone thinks they are so shitty, then the Eagles should be putting up 29-31 points a game and guess what.. they are.

So anyways.... you guys can BITCH, BITCH, BITCH and be jealous. We'll wave from our seats when we're in Jacksonville.
