View Full Version : Whoooooo The Knicks

Triple A

They have a pretty hot team this year and they are only gonna get better. Started off slow but have been hot lately. Marbury is sick as usual, Jamal Crawford has been the man this year, and Nazr Mohammed has been putting up like 20 points and 15 rebounds for the last five games ever since they said they might trade him. They are def gonna win the shitty Atlantic and be the #3 seed in the playoffs at least.

Is Lenny Wilkens white or black

Triple A
11-30-2004, 10:47 PM
I am posting this cause Jamal Crawford just hit a game winning 3.

Just like he did against the Rockets. He is the man.

The Miz

I picked up Nzar Mohammed on waivers like a week ago in fantasy basketball. Definitely helping my team out.

Also, AAA, what is the latest on Allan Houston???

Triple A

He said he wants to try to come back this weekend against the Bobcats but it's probably not gonna happen. I heard he will be out another two weeks.

WHAT, they will win the Atlantic, they are far from the best team, but the Atlantic is a terrible division.

Who is in Atlantic? Is that Knicks, Nets, Celtics, Wizards, Sixers or something?

Triple A

Atlantic Division

New York 7-6
Philadelphia 6-7
Toronto 7-9
Boston 5-8
New Jersey 3-11

BCWWF

I don't see the Knicks really running away with that division tho. Obviously they look to be the favorites, but Philadelphia and Boston are both going to be right in there

Bigg Mike
12-01-2004, 05:41 PM
The Knicks blew an early lead last night which had me pissed off most of the game. Crawford played horrible last night, but his three was sick. Him and Marbury's clutch plays saved us from an embarressing loss (The Hawks lost their last 7 I think.)

Trips, you hear about Vince Carter for Kurt Thomas and Allan Houston? What do you think about that trade? I'm not sure if I want Vince on the Knicks, especially with losing Kurt and Houston.

Oh, and Lenny is a milatto (sp?).

Triple A
12-01-2004, 05:48 PM
I dunno. They don't really need anymore guards or small forwards. Probably should get some size instead.

Jesus Shuttlesworth
12-01-2004, 05:55 PM
Nah Celtics will turn it around, they already beat the Knicks by like 30.

BCWWF
12-01-2004, 06:42 PM
It's going to take the Yankee's like 10 years to become a true title contender. They have the highest payroll in the league by like 15 million right now. Once they get rid of the bad players signed to big contracts (Allen Houston, Tim Thomas etc) they can start all over, unless Marbury is still around. They really could have used Dampier, he would have been a real good fit for them.

BCWWF
12-01-2004, 06:56 PM
Ok, ready?

Team Payrolls:
1. New York Knicks $103,597,539
2. Dallas Mavericks $89,542,488
3. Portland Trail Blazers $77,660,996
4. Philadelphia 76ers $69,020,615
5. Minnesota Timberwolves $68,783,249
17. Detroit Pistons $51,788,658
24. Phoenix Suns $44,719,739
25. San Antonio Spurs $44,550,584
28. Denver Nuggets $41,945,732

Hmm...

Random Knick Player Salarys
3. Allan Houston $17,531,250
7. Anfernee Hardaway $14,625,000
7. Stephon Marbury $14,625,000
24. Tim Thomas $12,900,000
-Shandon Anderson $7,300,000

To put that in some perspective:
Allan Houston is earning more money this season than: Kevin Garnett and Jason Kidd. Houston and Hardaway both make more money than Ray Allen, Allen Iverson, Michael Finley, Grant Hill, Tracy McGrady, TIM DUNCAN, and Kobe Bryant. Those two and Tim Thomas all make more than Vince Carter, DIRK NOWITZKI, and Paul Pierce.

So hate me, but I just can't like a team that spends money that poorly.

Kid Robb
12-01-2004, 07:31 PM
Stephon Marbury, as good as he may be, will never play with a genuine contender.

The only time a team with a point guard who scores a lot is successful is when they've got a good defence behind them. Even then, they sacrifice scoring for the good of the team. That's why guys like Jason Kidd win wherever they go, and why Steve Nash is so successful in Phoenix at the moment.

Charlotte winning is not like the underdog coming in to beat the superpower team. Houston hasn't even played all season. Yeah, he has a terrible contract, but whatever.

Bigg Mike

I'm not sure I understand:?:
Layden pretty much left the Knicks with a huge bloated payroll of mediocre players. Layden signed the 100 Million Dollar paycheck for Houston, after Houston and Spree took the Knicks to the finals in 99, and also signed Weatherspoon, Anderson, and Eisley giving them much more then they deserved.

Wow 41 points by Jamaal Crawford.
Hey that's great.
Now Jamal, let's start playing TEAM BALL. However, he was the only guy who shot well. Kurt shot like a blind man, and Marbury went 4-12.

``Whenever you go into someone's arena and you know how tough they play, you are automatically in for a challenge,'' Knicks guard Stephon Marbury said of the expansion Bobcats. ``Tonight we simply didn't meet that challenge.''

The Bobcats are not a challenge. They are an expansion team.
He's acting like they just played against someone like Detroit.
As soon as New York gets their shit together, they fuck things up again with back to back losses.

BCWWF
12-05-2004, 01:04 AM
I think he was trying to say that when you underestimate a team, you are at a disadvantage from the start.

Bigg Mike
12-05-2004, 01:15 AM
The Knicks should not underestimate teams.
They've used that cop out in the past many a time.
It's bullshit.

BCWWF
12-05-2004, 01:46 AM
Well the Knicks don't have a good team, to be quite honest. They are just like the rich version of the Bulls

Bigg Mike
12-05-2004, 09:49 PM
They have a good team on paper...it's just that they can't seem to play well together.
It's too individualistic. At least Marbury isn't being as selfish as he used to be.
I'm hoping that Houston will be back to good form, so we'll see what happens with that. It's kinda sad when your best and most consistant player is Nazr Mohammed.

BCWWF
12-05-2004, 10:57 PM

VonErich Lives

I like Rivers, he's benched the best player on the team like 3 times for "not paying defense", I think they cut back on the courtside/bench mic after the time he was yelling at Pierce to play defense.

Jesus Shuttlesworth
01-22-2005, 02:24 PM
I'm not totally sure on Rivers yet. Kinda just seems like Danny Ainge's puppet. I don't know though, that's the feeling I was getting originally. The Celtics play no defense at all, all the games seem to end with both teams in the 110-115 point range.

in todays nba, most scores hit that range.

That being said, Ainge is ready to over manage, but I think at this point Rivers is doing his own thing, if the Celts start to drop a bunch of games, or might miss the playoffs, I'd expect to see a battle for control between ainge and rivers.

I just like that he's not taking crap from the players (Pierce, Payton) etc...

Remember the 80's and even early 90's....

Passing, Defense... heck, in the 80's they played great D and teams still scored over 100, cause it was fast, passing, running the floor a true team game... I hate todays NBA.

The Icon of Elisim
01-24-2005, 10:09 PM
I think Marbury could work in the triangle just not as the point guard, move him to the 2 and he could do a good job

BCWWF
01-25-2005, 12:54 AM
All they need to do is trade Marbury and they will automatically become a contender. Isn't that how it usually works?

Jesus Shuttlesworth
01-25-2005, 01:16 AM
I don't understand why that happens either. He does get his teammates involded, he is always tops in assists.

BCWWF
01-25-2005, 02:54 AM
Stats can be decieving though. I think its his overall attitude that is what makes him a losing player. He left Minnesota because he thought he was better then Kevin Garnett and thought he was the one deserving of the money he got. He said it back when he was on the Wolves and he still says it, he thinks that he is the best. Its not like TO, at least in my opinion. TO is really confident, Marbury is more arrogant I guess is the word? When you are a point guard you can get a lot of assists and still be selfish. He just has it in his head that he is the best.

Personally I don't think that Marbury is holding this Knicks team down though. They have so many overpriced shitty players on their team. If they can keep Marbury and build around him while slowly ridding themselves of the aging shit like Tim Thomas, Penny Hardaway, Allan Houston, etc. They have so much money put into shitty players, think if they had that amount of money invested in good players...I don't think brining in a Steve Nash or Jason Kidd type would change the Knicks like it did the Suns and Nets.

RoXer
