Last week, the keyboardist and I recorded a sample version of our song "Void." I mic'd my amp for the guitars and bass directly to my computer and used Cool Edit Pro. We used my computer and a drum track to record it. The cymbals came out really low for some reason. We're still looking for a drummer.

Why do you not have readily available mp3s? Thoose sites are loading incredibly slow for me.

tune down the guitars man, sounds far to happy at the beginning. I'm getting some dimmu borgir relations there, but... meh, i dunno, sounds like to much going on in the song, im finding it hard to listen and appreciate it as so much is happening, far to much.

For some reason I couldn't get either link to work... :(

Buy me an expensive multitrack studio so the production quality isn't nonexistant. The mp3 is encoded at 32 kbps, which is terrible and brought the quality down drastically.

Did you ever notice those little pegs on the head of the guitar, well if not you should investigate

You dont need exspensive equipment, your guitar pedal into your mixer, into your pc. Simple!

We record ocals, guitars and bass like this, drums wise, our lead guitarist programs drums to a T, and our drummer is phenominal. If you want any advice on progs to use etc. gimme a PM.

What for? I play in D.

I don't have my own pedal. I mic my amp. What program do you use to make the drums? I use Guitar Pro to make a drum track and export the midi. For "Void", something got fucked up somewhere and it saved at 32 kbps, which is terribly low quality. My recording of "A Dying Aura" sounds much better quality-wise. I'm not really concerned, since I'll probably be recording a proper demo during Christmas break in a real studio with a real drummer.

Yeah your on the right track with guitar pro drums, import into fruity loops, play around man, experiment, if your going into a studio and stuff, you should think about investing in a guitar pedal my man.

My other guitarist has about 8 pedals and a processor. Whenever we practice, I use his shit. I'll be using his shit in the studio, too.

I was thinking about getting the "Drumkit From Hell," the thing where Tomas Haake from Meshuggah recorded a bunch of drum samples. They did that song "War" using the Drumkit From Hell, and it sounds 100% real.

Your band is pretty good. I'm definitely going to have to experiment with Fruity Loops, because for the most part, your drums sound authentic. The only thing I'd do differently is make consecutive cymbal shots vary in volume.

Hey Miz, how about instead of criticizing this stuff, you make some of your own since you seem to know what to do and how to make it perfect.

I already make my own music, I'm not sure where I said I make perfect music though. Maybe you made it up. Regardless, whether I make music or not does not take away my right to think asphyXy's band is shit.
