Francis is awesome, always been one of my favorite players, especially from the Pens' glory days. Ron Francis passed Marcel Dionne for fourth on the all time scoring list, what an accomplishment, to be up with Gretz, the Moose, and Mr. Hockey.

Francis doesn't really come to mind as a superstar player, but he's solid and has really had a great career.

i'm really glad that some of these players are getting passed in all time scoring. just seemed like yesterday it was howe and dionne as 1 and 2. it's good for the league and yeah it seems like francis did it under the radar so to speak.

Francis never had the flash that you equate with superstars. That plus playing in Hartford, then with Mario/Jagr in Pittsburg and then Carolina doesn't scream "look at me."

Never even scored 35 goals in a season. I think he's only ever topped 100 points twice maybe three times.

Francis is a great playmaker, not a goal scorer (although he had that sweet breakaway goal against Casey in the last game of the Stanley Cup in '91)
That's why Francis is 2nd only to Gretzky for assists.
