Who do you think had the greatest title reign?
I would have to say Austin circa 1998 (Wrestlemania to King of the Ring)

Fabulous Moolah, her 30 year long one.... :shifty:

Actually, Triple H's reign in 2000 when he was Cerebral Assasin was a pretty good one. I think he defended his title a lot, and that was back when he was still putting on good matches consistently and making the belt look good. Correct me if I have the year wrong.

Bret Hart's title reign from October 1992 to Wrestlemania IX. He defended against everyone, maineventers and midcarders alike and he put on good matche swith even the stiffest of wrestlers(Like Brian Clark aka Adam Bomb)

Bruno Sammartino's 7+ year run with the World Championship.

And we all know that the greatest IC title run of all time belongs to the Honky Tonk Man.

Ric Flair's Title runs in the 80's had some awesome matches to it. The feuds with Harley Race, Ricky Steamboat, and even Dusty Rhodes all ruled.

Do you think wrestling could ever swing back that way? Where title runs last for years. Is there anybody now, that the people could watch for years on end defending the belt?

Billy Kidman as WCW Cruiserweight champion in 1999. He defended the belt on pretty much every Nitro and Thunder, and had great matches with guys like Juvi, Rey and Psychosis. I think he held it for a good 4 months, too.

On the national and international levels,I doubt it highly.

On the indy scene,100% sure it can. You could run 10-15 shows a
month in your town, and ALWAYS keep the Champion fresh. Then,if
he's a guy who can travel, you have him do Title defenses on the r-
oad,and a few non-title (perhaps tag team,etc..) inbetween.

Indy scene is completely different from the national and international
levels though; so that's a big thing to factor in there as well....
