Well, since everyone else who lost bets found their own.

But, since you're going to let me choose, this one will do just fine.

Doesn't change the fact that the Eagles still lost.

Rather make the Superbowl and loose than not even make a wildcard

Gonzo
02-13-2005, 12:47 AM
Actually, I would rather lose every game than lose in the Superbowl because it stings worse to be so close, yet so far away.

Remember back in 2000 when the Giants, facing elimination from the playoffs, not only went to the playoffs but the Superbowl only to lose 34-7?

Yeah, I would have rather went 0-16.

Rain Man

Atleast the Eagles lost by 3 even though Donovan played reall shitty to a better team than the 2000 Ravens??? Trent Dilfer beat the Giants...

Gonzo

The point I was trying to get, is that I would rather not make it to the Superbowl than get there and lose, no matter what the circumstance.

Get it?

You people that keep giving shit about the Eagles are stupid. They had an incredible year, had an incredible run in the playoffs, and had players step up to play a great game in the Super Bowl. They were clearly the second or third best team in the league, and they lost to the best team by three points. They were a great team, but not the best, nobody is trying to deny that.

Alright, overcompensating for everyone elses negativity a tad aren't we?

I'd say Philly was maybe the 5th best team in the league.

You have got to be kidding? Just because they played in the NFC doesn't mean they were subpar too. The top three teams in the league, considered by most everybody, were the Steelers, the Patriots, and the Eagles. You could make a case for the Colts, Chargers, or Jets, but you would just be ignorant if you did that. State your reasons why you think they are the fifth best.

Yeah and the Eagles got beat by a bunch of backup DB's. Samuel, Gay, Reid (when Wilson went down) and Troy Brown a converted WR to Nickle Back.

That being said, the Eagles have a good team, I don't think people give them enough credit.

I could be wrong BCWWF but I think the reason people don't view Philly as the #3 team and talk about their division is they had like the 2nd easiest schedule in 2004 (I'm not talking pre-season predictions, I'm taking 2004 results)..

I think the Jets would have given then a run for their money, but I think the Colts and Chargers would have lost to the Eagles.

That being said, I think Andy Reid is a great coach, but god knows why they didn't have a no huddle offense in their playbook or didn't use it, we'll just assume he had his "brain fart" at the wrong time.
